Thrown FUR a Loop

Today’s cartoon drops us into a quiet little airstrip where two grizzlies suddenly find themselves getting “diverted”. The worker behind the fence tells them he has to “reroute” them around the runway, and the full stretch of the fence makes it pretty clear this is a recent update the bears didn’t see coming. The long stretch of runway, the lone plane coming in, the tower in the back, and those mountains all remind you how remote this place really is. And with everything going on in the scene, you can tell somebody there is juggling more than just planes.

💎 Jumble Jeff’s Jems 💎

  • ➤ “Hat’s All, Folks”
The worker has a trucker-style cap on with an oval picture showing a bear in a wilderness scene next to some water, a tree, and mountains in the background.
  • ➤ “Scenic Stretch”
The perspective on the fence and airstrip gave the panel a sense of depth.
  • ➤ “Hands On”
The worker’s fingers poked through the fence. His right hand slipped through the openings, and his left index finger is pointing.

🧠 Final Solve 🧠

Today’s final answer came from an enormous eighteen letter anagram arranged in a 4 + 7 + 7 layout. It’s the kind of wide open challenge you only see in the Sunday puzzle. The terminology they used, “DIVERTED” and “REROUTE”, along with seeing the airport in the background, made TRAFFIC jump out of the layout right away. CONTROL followed naturally, and BEAR was a simple four letter scramble to seal the deal. It COAT not have gone any smoother!
