Jeff’s💎Gems? A PICKUP truck in the distance, and what might be a figure standing at the house, at far RIGHT. But, TBT, I’m a little THROWN off by our cartoon today. With six players shown, it’s looking like there’s four against TWO…The daughter at the plate with her Dad on deck, versus TWO sons, another daughter and I’m including who appears to be the Mom, since she’s wearing a glove. And the Mom looks to be holding a lollipop. SWEET, BUNT a little confusing. Maybe that’s why Dad’s advising his daughter to “swing for the house”…’cause with Mom seemingly distracted, that lolli-POP UPs their chances of getting a hit past her…And with making lunch on the line, and it being the top of the ninth, our batter doesn’t need to get SANDWICHed in…she needs to STRIKE while the iron’s hot…Oh…and you gotta GLOVE Dad wearing those sandals…How do you RUN the bases with them not being TIEd down?…Pretty sure they’ll give him a good RUN for his money…And I hope you CATCH that the son playing SHORT is barefoot like his Mom…seemingly another of Jeff’s CURVE balls…And FINALly, whatever that is being used as home plate? I just can’t figure it OUT…But do keep in mind that I may be missing a SIGNAL or two here…so could be that I’ve totally STRUCK OUT…
So…There you have it, Folks….Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of my friend, who signed on to play with a neighborhood softball team as a pitcher. After completely blowing his FIRST game, floundering and being pulled from his SECOND, he was on the mound for his THIRD…And once again he was struggling terribly…So after giving up hits to the first two batters, the catcher went out to the mound to have a talk with him. “I’ve figured out your problem”, he told him. You always lose control at the same point every game”. “When is that”? my friend asked…”Right after the National Anthem”, the reply…And TBT?… It left me in STITCHES…After all, we did warn him that it wasn’t going to be a WALK in the PARK…But him being him? He just BALKED…🥎🙋🏻♀️

📞 A SWIFT PHONE call between the TWO HOME TEAMS dealt with the problem of the group starting to BEMOAN the fact that they needed to work in TANDEM with one another…📞
🤦🏻♂️ In TANDEM now they realized a PHONE call wouldn’t do, SWIFT action need be taken before chaos would ensue… And they’d BEMOAN not dealing with what now does surely seem… A break in any understanding ‘tween the TWO HOME TEAMS…🤦🏻♂️

Tandem stumped me again , I think it’s stumped me before. Having looked that up, at least the cartoon was a quick solve. Speaking of family softball games, they were a staple at our holiday picnic gatherings when I was growing up. Chuck.

For the answer, I first had TWO HOME mates, which didn’t make sense. Then TWO HOME steams, which made even less sense. Then finally TWO HOME TEAMS. Why I didn’t think of TEAMS first is a mystery. I BEMOAN the fact that I wasn’t too SWIFT today, and just PHONEd it in.

Figured out the solution when I remembered this was a family game, just like we used to play in our back yard. I think home plate might be a frisbee? Also if mom is at left, she’s wearing shoes. Nice game today!

Running late starting today but it’s really fun to read all the posts ! I usually do mine right at midnight, but not today ! Anyway the anagrams were there but I had a little problem with TANDEM and REMOAN , I had to look them up ! Now the jumble was a tough one , but seeing the house in the background and looking at the HOME TEAM players , there were just too MANY home TEAMs ! So this was a thirsty-Thursday. But a really fun one ! And Angela , you can really come up with such perfect song choices ! Sly Stone is one of my favorites ! I saw then live in akro and Cleveland , and they were good ! And your post with Jeff’s Gems and your friend , made my day ! So let’s bring on TGIF and complete another successful jumble work week !!!!!
