I’ve read of players who use different techniques to unscramble Jumble words. Putting letters into a circle, as our guy suggests here, separating vowels and consonants, etc. TBH, I can’t SPELL IT OUT for you, since I’ve never reSORTED to anything of the like = SORT…No…I do NOTHING OF THE SORT…
So…Today, we see a woman, enjoying coffee in an “I ❤️Jumble” mug, doing her morning puzzles. And being stuck on the letters, Z I R A D V, which do SPELL the word, “Vizard” https://tinyurl.com/yrmtwvmt and trying to SORT it out, her husband suggests that she put the letters into a circle, in order to “associate” = SORT them…Did it work? Good morning. It took a minute to come up with Gratis but I enjoy that challenge in the morning. Just like the couple in today’s Jumble, I do all of the puzzles in the paper and yes Angela, I solve them in ink ! Thank you for the link to The Bee Gees and the fun post today. Stan

No issue with the puzzle today. Like that you pointed out how some separate out the vowels, that is my method. Also, actually came up with “Vizard” but didn’t know it was a real word. The only thought that popped into my head is that perhaps it would be the way Mel Brooks would prononce ‘Wizard’ in one of his comedies. Now I know.

Thank you. I’ve been getting my Jumbles on line through the Arkansas Gazette. That part with the “the” appears on the screen but not when I print it. I sent them a note. No big deal. I just need to look before I print. Thanks for your help.

You’re welcome, Scott. Almost always when David provides the word THE, it doesn’t reflect on the online versions of the papers published under the Tribune umbrella. There’s no circles for it because the three letters aren’t given in any of the words. You can see here, in the Texarkana Gazette, https://tinyurl.com/34aae9zn that it’s the same case. The word appears in the gray shaded area under the cartoon, but when you go to print, the box disappears.
The link I provided is from my NY print paper…their online version too is without the word or the circles….And yes, without reading closely before printing, the letters you’ve gleaned from the day’s words alone won’t give you the solve.
