Good Morning, Everyone…➕THE FRUITS OF THEIR LABOR ➕
🎶 ONE way or another, I’m gonna FIND YA …I’m gonna GET YA get ya, get ya, get ya…🎶 “One Way Or Another” – Blondie 1979 http://tinyurl.com/9bxfe4aj
➕They thought they’d SEIZE the moment, they tried it first with fruit,
The child didn’t grasp it though…that KNOWN fruit didn’t take root…
(There’s nothing ‘bout the puzzle though where TAWDRY would come in…
The same’s going for GYPSUM…they’ll just take it on the chin)…
They’re trying to teach how to add…it’s all about accruing…
But so far it’s not adding up…it’s gonna TAKE “SUM” DOING! ➕
The idiom, TAKE SOME DOING http://tinyurl.com/y9ztvytd leapt right off the page before my BERRY eyes…It just came to me in a FLASH…CARD it have been any easier? Even without the dialogue’s clues…TOTAL NUMBER = SUM, SUBTRACTION = TAKE… not to mention our quotation marks, which always EQUAL a play on words…it just ADDED up so quickly, that I was able to DIVIDE my time DOING other things…But for our parents here today, it’s not all that easy…Teaching addition….it was going to TAKE “SUM” DOING…
…And Jeff’s Gem? If you add the number columns he’s written on the paper…top to bottom…the first column…1-2-2 adds up 5. The second, 1-1-2 equals 4…’54 the year Jumble first began…And let’s not disCOUNT his incomPEARable wit about the child not liking bananas…ORANGE you glad he makes these puzzles such fun? He just knows exactly how to put the PEACHES together…
So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I was going to end with an addition joke…but I forgot SUM of it…➕🙋🏻♀️

🪨 It was well-KNOWN that the materials used for the lesson on GYPSUM were pretty TAWDRY…but the teacher got a good laugh when she said, “Correcting this will definitely TAKE SOME DOING …but we shall SEIZE the clay”…🪨
🚜 They fertilized with GYPSUM, looked to SEIZE all that they could,
They were KNOWN to work carefully…and last they hoped it would…
No TAWDRY short cuts would they ply, no skimping would be brewing…
They had a plan…were well-prepared…knowing it’d TAKE SOME DOING …🚜

One of the best thirsty-Thursdays I’ve done ! First off , the anagrams caught me having to mine for GYPSUM , cause I couldn’t find it ! Then the last word made the anagrams a TAWDRY mess ! But the jumble was rewarding ! After reading the phrase , I wrote down TAKE and for teaching addition , I saw SUM , with quotation marks , then the letters that were left had me TAKE SUM DOING ! This one was one of those rewarding jumbles that made you think and reward yourself with the solution ! And Angela , the Blondie song was a good one ! And your reasoning to get this one was fun fitting ! Great thirst quencher for today ! Everyone have a nice addition to their week !!!!!!!

Somewhat of a mixed bag today. After an initial look, came up with TAKE SUM…but didn’t see the last word. OK, I can live with that, and started on the anagrams. Unscrambled all four, even though I wasn’t so sure about TAWDRY. After plugging in the letters, was left with G-O-E-N-G…and screeched to a stop. Well…at least I had the basic idea, but made an error somewhere. Thanks for a thoroughly enjoyable Thirsty Thursday posting. Terry

YW, Terry..and Tk you. I’m curious though..how did you end up with 2 G’s when there’s only one amongst all the letters? 🤷🏻♀️

It took “sum” doing but I got it after backing into the third and fourth words. I love the challenging ones. They make me feel smart when I solve the puzzle. Steve from Toronto

Good morning. I hope it was for most. As for myself, this start of the day was a disaster. I spent so much time on the last two words that I didn’t get that I went straight to the solution after only a minute on the cartoon answer. But, I say this with renewed faith that I’ll do better tomorrow because after reading Angela’s post and listening to her song choice my frown of disdain changed to a big smile and a few chuckles. Thanks for that. Until tomorrow take care.

Good Morning, Paul. LOL…you had me worried there for a moment! Glad you enjoyed it all…you know I’m always happy to hear that I gave you a laugh..Tk you. .Take care…➕🙋🏻♀️

Wipe out Thursday as the cartoon totally stumped me after I miscopied the letters from the tawdry anagram and lacked the ‘d’ for ‘doing’ in the cartoon solution. Chuck.

➕It starts off with just the one and one,
And Addition’s program has begun…
But to a child small,
It’s not easy at all…
So a parent tries to make it fun…➕
🤷🏻♀️Our Mom here thought she’d try it with fruit,
Figuring she’d be safe with that route…
But her child has qualms,
And she questioned her Mom…
Leaving Mom to say…”Just follow suit…🤷🏻♀️
🍌“The banana’s not the issue here,
It can be oranges or a pear…
It’s the total we need,
Not what you’d rather feed…
On…So just look at what here appears”🍌
🤷🏻♀️It’s the number Mom’s trying to teach,
But so far it’s out of child’s reach…
She’s not grasping the goal,
Of adding to a whole…
She’ll need more than a pome or a peach…🤷🏻♀️
➕Surely time will help the child see,
That a 2 and a 1 will make 3…
But for now? Sums not yet,
Hopefully soon she’ll get…
What Addition all “adds up” to be! ➕

Being a former math professor, I should have been able to do the cartoon! Yikes!
