    🎊 They SNARL at one another…dance a BALLET of some sort…
    They EXPEL any thought of them ever being cohorts…
    Like BAMBOO shoots they cut with punches of the nth degree…
    It’s New Year’s Day…why must they fight?…It definitely BEATS ME! 🎊

    So…First day out of the gate, http://tinyurl.com/4v446vd7 and I decided to completely change things up…Today’s puzzle is simple enough, and I’m sure it didn’t LAND ANY PUNCHES…(pun intended)…But it just doesn’t STRIKE me, (yes, again, pun intended), as necessary to start the year off with any sort of violence and/or defeat of any kind, so I’m going way out of the BOX (yes, one more)!…with this one…Rope-a-Dope? …Nope, not today…And if it’s a SWING…(again, yes…I could do this all day)! …and a miss…so be it…But today, this is “What’s in Ned’s 😉…(I mean Angela’s) Head”…*

    Ok…2024…Besides the obvious love affair I have with words, I also like numbers…And the #24 is one of my favorites. This year marks 24 years that the incomparable Charles Schultz http://tinyurl.com/mu5hxyxz has passed away. I’m a big fan…And today’s puzzle solve inspired me to think about things in life that trigger the response “It BEATS ME” http://tinyurl.com/2ww3u39t …And trust me, there are plenty…I’m constantly questioning things…And one thing that always stuck in my craw was how that sweet little boy, Charlie Brown, http://tinyurl.com/yn9kxsc3 went “through life” bearing the brunt of unrequited love when it came to the Little Red-Haired Girl. http://tinyurl.com/bdz5s3cj And coincidentally, if any of you are dedicated fans of “Peanuts”, you’ll recall that there’s a special entitled,”Happy New Year, Charlie Brown”, http://tinyurl.com/539epjn6 in which once again, poor Charlie loses out all because of a book report that’s due on “War and Peace”. “War and Peace”! Assigned to a child! …What the…? BEATS ME!

    Anyway, if you’re still with me, that’s what’s on my mind this morning. Unorthodox thinking? Perhaps…But the #24, the disturbing reality of parts of our world at war, and the dawn of a New Year just all seemed to Jumble together and resonate with me today…and that’s just the way it is…Why?…BEATS ME!

    So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And here’s hoping 2024 brings us all to better places…It’s Leap Year…We have that extra day to work with…🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🙇🏻‍♂️ He couldn’t help but EXPEL a SNARL as the BAMBOO shoots, draped like a line of BALLET dancers, hung over his side of the fence…causing him to exclaim to his wife…”BEATS ME how I’m going to get rid of all this”…🙇🏻‍♂️

    🤷🏻‍♀️They named it “BAMBOO BALLET”, they hoped they would succeed,
    The name did cause a few to SNARL…backlash they didn’t need…
    Attempts to try and EXPEL them now looked to number three
    But why all the dissension? The whole thing just BEATS ME…🤷🏻‍♀️

  4. Wow…you read a lot into today’s Jumble…But first, Happy New Year. I just thought it was another Jumble Day…how lackluster I am, but you’re right about that book report on War and Peace !! And to add insult to injury, it wasn’t even a blind solve to start the New Year. Thanks for pointing out the Leap Year and another Jumble day. Thanks for your excellent post, and yes, it was a little violence related, but there will be others !! Terry

  6. Good morning and Happy New Year to all. That’s some heavy thinking today Angela and it’s just the first day of a new year. Enjoyed todays jumble more so because it was a cinch on both parts. It reminded me of a picture on the back page of the daily news maybe 50-60 years ago. One of my uncles had a relative that was learning to be a barber and was a boxer at heart. Well the picture had him on the canvas and the caption said “The Barber Got Clipped”. Never forgot that heading. Enjoyed the song choice and now I can put on name to that song. Until tomorrow take care.

  8. Happy new year ! And what a great way to start off a new year of jumbles ! All the anagrams were right there and the jumble made me punch-happy ! With only 7 letters you just couldn’t say BEATS ME , but you could write it ! Lol ! I agree with Terry on your post and Paul on your choice of Simon and Garfunkel song , I love the Boxer ! I sang it a few times out with my band ! Their harmonies are so good ! We are off to another wonderful jumble year with a great jumble family , everyone have a Happy New Year !!!!!!!
