  1. Good Morning, Everyone… 🔠 (L) – M – N – O…NO! 🔠

    🎶I put a SPELL on you…Do..do…do…🎶 “I Put A Spell On You” – Miss Nina Simone 1965 http://tinyurl.com/4zxevz6c

🔠 They don’t HOIST one another here…it’s GOING all downhill,
DENOTE the morose faces…they really need to chill…
    “O” goes in for the ENCORE…seems he’s def copping a plea…
    But it’s “N” that’s really burdened…with life TO THE NTH DEGREE! 🔠

Before I even begin, I have to say that I think this is a brilliant pun! It’s ALPHA!…BET David gave himself a good chuckle with this one…

So…These anthropomorphic letters we’ve grown to love…and you can definitely COUNT on # 14 to entertain today… http://tinyurl.com/3k43324w

Ok…Granted, I suppose one would have a leg up by being familiar with today’s idiom…but even if you’re not…with our question giving us the letter “N”…and the “N” itself SPELLING it all out for us by saying…”Responsibilty…Phrase…Trying your UTMOST”… http://tinyurl.com/mv58k3cd IMO,(no pun intended) this one just flew WRITE off the page…Everything the letter “N” does is TO THE NTH DEGREE!… http://tinyurl.com/59mx4tt3 …Again…brilliant! “M” I WRITE? … And I’m hoping that by following today’s huge clues, it’s diSPELLED any fear you might have had about this one putting a SPELL on you!…NTH? http://tinyurl.com/nprfbmxy Today?…NoTHing to it!

My “O”nly question thOugh?…Y’s the “O” mouthing “O”ff? There’s a gazillion names that begin with “O”…Owens, Oberon, Olliphant, Osborne…What’s his problem? Unless he’s referring to the “O” apostrophe names? I still don’t get it…O well…maybe sOmeOne Out there can SPELL it Out fOr me…O…One Other thing…Stands to reason that there should be a “P” following our “O”…but it Definitely looks like a “D”…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminded me of a discussion my friends and I had recently…We were trying to determine what the Beatle’s favorite letter of the alphabet was…I figured it had to be …🎶 Letter B…Letter B…Letter B…Yeah, Letter B…(Pretty sure I was) …Speaking words of wisdom…Letter B…🎶 🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

    • As English evolves and marches on to becoming the world’s most used/useful language, it is being simplified and many “traditional” idioms, used mainly in UK/Canada/USA are disappearing; “to the nth degree” is likely one of them. My British/American mother had an incredible lexicon of idioms that she used in a way that was always spot on.

  3. 🚩They were GOING to HOIST their new flag at the ENCORE performance in an effort to DENOTE that from now on everything they’d do would be TO THE NTH DEGREE…🚩

🤷🏻‍♂️They tried to HOIST his spirits, it wasn’t GOING well,
They needed to DENOTE to him that things would surely gel
It’s now an ENCORE effort…they hope this time he’ll see…
They have his back…and truly took it TO THE NTH DEGREE! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  4. 🤦🏻‍♂️ There once was a letter so stressed,
Bar so high the guy’s living hard-pressed…
    Always kept on his toes…
‘Tween the “M” and the “O”…
Feeling his spot’s the one hardly blessed…🤦🏻‍♂️

    🙇🏻‍♂️The responsibility’s weighing tough,
And our “N”’s feeling life is too rough…
Guess he’d love to be “M”,
    Or any one of them…
Thinking they’re living lives of pure fluff…🙇🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️ But the order can never be changed,
There’s no point trying to rearrange…
    So “N”’s venting for naught…
Since we all have been taught…
And to alter? Just a thought too strange…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️Hate to see our “N” looking so blue,
And we wonder what now will ensue…
    Never paid mind before,
    ‘Twas no need to explore…
But now this brings up concerns anew…🤷🏻‍♂️

❓Could it be that the others find fault…
And can never with their slot exalt?
    Can of worms opened here…
    Will more complaints appear?…
Are we dealing with a grain of salt? ❓

  5. Not a thirst quencher for me today ! Read all your explanations and David’s expertise, but this one drew a blank with me after the N ! Two anagrams , I had to look up , DENOTE and no ENCORE ! The jumble , well I really needed Mother Mary , to come to me , because I couldn’t speak the words of jumble wisdom ! So I just letter B !!!!!

  6. Can’t decide how I brought a blind solve to the Jumble table this morning?? I cogitated just a bit and somehow, NTH popped up, and the rest is history. I confirmed the answer with pretty straightforward anagrams to check my solution. And yes, I was puzzled just a bit with GOING. Anyway, noticed how prolific Angela was with her posting….Did you get any sleep last night, dear?? Hopefully this is a nice start to the puzzles I work in the morning. Terry

    • LOL! Tks, Terry. TBT…I’m sleepy now! Hope your puzzling went well..🔠🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Apart from knowing ‘N’ was the 14th letter, and ‘to’ was the first part of the cartoon solution, the rest stumped me! I guess just like 2023 , I’m running down. Chuck.

    • LOL! Cute analogy, but don’t count yourself out…And yes, the “N”d to another year…it seems to have gone by so quickly…🤷🏻‍♀️

  8. The words were easily solved. The answer took some effort. I finally saw DEGREE, but was puzzled when the other two words used only one vowel. I looked at the letters left, and saw NTH. Not sure it was an official word, I checked MWD. Success!
    Dennis

  9. Cute puzzle this morning. Thought the first word might be “on” but saw degree and realized I didn’t need a vowel for the second word so it was a successful solve. Happy Thursday all! Betty

  10. Well, I’ve tried to the nth degree
As hard as hard can be
    To make my mark
But I’m still in the dark
In the shadow of M you see……

    As M’s a bit wider then N
    It’s blocking me out……again!
If you look you will see
It’s got four lines to my three
Whether you type it or write it with pen!

So it seems that here I am stuck
I suppose it’s simply bad luck
I’ll make the most of my lot
    Just stay in my spot
But I’ve got resilience and pluck!

  11. Good evening. It’s been a busy day and I just made time to complete todays jumble. I got all the words and got the first and last word to the cartoon answer but didn’t know what to do with HTN. “Who knew”. What to do with those three letters. Apparently not me! Until tomorrow take care.
