    ⏰ IT’S THE RAT RACE…BUT IT’S SAVING FACE! ⏰

    ⏰ He’s tired of the wear and tear, his body kin to mulch,
    The sparring and the pummeling…the cuts deep as a GULCH…
    The slightest HICCUP here or there…a PIGEON he’d become,
    And every QUACK who had a grudge looking to “hit the bum”…
    He wants to take it easy, no more need to be a jock…
    He’s given up that other punch…he’d rather PUNCH A CLOCK! ⏰

    For a moment there this morning, things were just a tad ROCKY for the Early Birds with the anagrams. They got them all RIGHT, but for 2 of them they were out in LEFT field at first…They were HOOKED on Gponie..it FLEW over their heads,…(And you had to know I was going for the PUNCH line here)…

    Ok…Dialogue, dialogue, dialogue…”Go another round”…”Another day, another dollar” = Same old, same old…And our cartoon showing the men about to give that slight PUNCH known as a FIST bump…while standing at a TIME CLOCK? With a conveyor belt moving BOXes showing in the background? No TIME SPARRED, I mean spared with this one, Folks…it’s way too easy a KNOCKOUT…This new job called for him to…PUNCH A CLOCK! … https://tinyurl.com/f7y9jfcy …And this was definitely an easy day’s WORK…

    So..There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminded me of a conversation a friend of mine had with his boss earlier this year on a day in January…Boss: “So you’re currently working 9 to 5, Monday through Friday,?”…My friend: “Yes, that’s correct”. Boss: “Would you be able to work outside those hours?”…My friend: “No, I might catch a cold.”…🎤 Give it a minute…⏰🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤦🏻‍♂️The only HICCUP with the PIGEON race, where there was need to PUNCH A CLOCK, was the constant controversy involving flying over the GULCH, which caused every QUACK to have an opinion…🤦🏻‍♂️

    👧🏻📕The toddler learning animal sounds, always a treat to see,
    The parents with their picture books, letters from A to Z…
    The PIGEON with a sound like QUACK? No…that would be a duck,
    An eagle flying o’er a GULCH…A pig lying in muck
    Yes there’s a HICCUP here and there…but much time to take stock…
    A child’s start to learning? There’s no need to PUNCH A CLOCK!📕 👧🏻

  4. 🥊 He was so used to taking a punch,
    There were times he was knocked out to lunch…
    But he’s def had his fill,
    It’s no longer a thrill…
    So he’s doing the 9 to 5 crunch! 🥊

    👍🏻He made boxing his life for so long,
    But decided to sing the swan song…
    Now he no longer fights,
    Lives normal days and nights…
    And he’s content to just go along…👍🏻

    👍🏻…With a program that now stays the same,
    Some may call it the rat-race by name…
    But it suits him just fine,
    Keeps him off a bread line…
    There’s no longer that looking for fame…👍🏻

    🤷🏻‍♂️Gets to work every morning by nine,
    And he figures he’ll age like fine wine…
    No more chance to get beat,
    And again face defeat…
    As a boxer he never did shine…🤷🏻‍♂️

    ⏰ Held his own for a good many years,
    But he’s done with the blood, sweat and tears…
    He’ll just go punch a clock,
    Knowing this job’s a lock…
    With conveyor belts, time cards and gears! ⏰

  6. Hello Monday ! What a fun and challenging jumble to start the week ! I’m gonna really try this week , and today was an excellent start ! The anagrams were very interesting and a little challenging ! GULCH had me question the spelling , but I got it ! When I heard a HICCUP from the PIGEON , I said bless you ! The the duck had to QUACK ! The jumble about a boxer was a PUNCH in the right direction , and another job to CLOCK in to PUNCH A CLOCK ! Very great one to start the week ! And Angela the first song that came right to me was “9to5” by miss Dolly Pardon ! Excellent one ! What a great jumble , everyone have a nice Monday !!!!!

    At the start of the bell, a Monday blind solve got me started today…always a good sign. Stumbled a bit over PIGEON so backed that in. After thinking about that excellent song choice, remember back the funniness of that movie. Pretty clever. We almost got some rain yesterday….maybe today. Tough summer as we finish up August. Funny joke to end your post. Thanks for sending.

    • I had to go back and look…The way you wrote NOY JE… It’s ENJOY, of course…but not separated. And the Enjoy has nothing to do with the toast. Note iI typed the word all in caps, while the toast isn’t…But maybe I’m missing something in your question..,.? 🤷🏻‍♀️

      • Okay…have always used Salute….never Cin Cin so that’s where I was remiss. And a relook showed me maybe there was no space in ENJOY. Therefore, I think I

  10. I was surprised to see that HICCUP and PIGEON were used this year, as I was hesitant to believe that I spelled them right. Blind solve for the answer.

  11. Good afternoon. Late start as I had a doctors appointment early this morning. Good start for a new week. Straight down the line on the words with little resistance on any word. Looked at the cartoon and nothing popped into my head right away so I started to put the letters down when before I could finish the answer appeared. Enjoyed the song and the movie as well Angela. Until tomorrow take care.
