  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🃏THE JOKE’S ON WHO? …OR…STUPID ANSWERS TO STUPID QUESTIONS! 🃏

🎶 Who’s always writing on the wall?…Who’s always GOOFIN’ in the hall?…Who’s always throwin’ spit balls?…Guess who (who, me?) Yeah, you!… Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown…HE’S A CLOWN, that Charlie Brown…He’s gonna get caught, just you wait and see…(Why’s everybody always pickin’ on me?)…🎶 “Charlie Brown” – The Coasters 1959 https://tinyurl.com/35j62m5v

    🃏 He’s sitting in a Library, a young boy with a joke,
Not knowing to act MANLY since he’s still a tiny bloke,
But he might cause an EXODUS, if his behavior stays,
He’s being told his attitude may send him on his way…
(And ORIOLE plus GRIME it seems in our theme just don’t fit,
Ironically two words today that aren’t making it)…
But there’s no laughter being heard…Alfred wrong to assume…
He’d find a welcome audience before READING THE ROOM! 🃏

A Library = A READING ROOM…The idiom …READING THE ROOM… https://tinyurl.com/mrwwf4sr … Our precocious little guy here today, who I’ll call Alfred,https://tinyurl.com/3rm6ht9r is being chastised by the Librarian because he failed to do just that…consider where he was…Sitting with his copy of MAD Magazine, https://tinyurl.com/4kwfudfv featuring the great cartoonist, Al Jaffee, https://tinyurl.com/snrzvv7p who just recently passed away, he’s seen still making a joke, even after he’s been told that his behavior would be better suited to. a Comedy Club, not a Library…And is Jeff paying a special homage by having little Al try to follow in Mr Jaffee’s revered footsteps with his “stupid answer” to what he may consider a “stupid question”? https://tinyurl.com/yyazn4yv Who knows…But it does definitely seem that the attitude of our little guy is…”What, me worry”? https://tinyurl.com/yw4h997r .. And there’s no worrying with this one today…it’s definitely an easy READ…

So, There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And remember if you’re looking to reserve a spot to use a computer at the Library, do so early…they’re always so overBOOKed..🃏🙋🏻‍♀️

    PRAYERS FOR MAUI 🙏🏻

    • Great song ! Haven’t heard it for some time , but it fits well here ! Ohh that Charlie Brown ! Have a good night !

  2. 🤦🏻‍♂️With the GRIME and the earlier EXODUS from the once MANLY-decorated ORIOLE Club, it left no doubt when it came to READING THE ROOM…🤦🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️They searched the nearby elm trees, hoping they might spot,
A nest that housed an ORIOLE…though MANLY it was not…
Considered to be by the rest…an EXODUS they saw,
Leaving behind such grit and GRIME that wasn’t there before
So now besides their research, they’d need to clean up and groom…
The area…too bad they hadn’t tried READING THE ROOM…🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. I’m not thirsty on this Thursday ! All the anagrams were there ! I had a hard time with ORIOLE , but after moving the letters around a hundred times , I settled with ORIOLE and it worked ! The jumble had to have READING being in a library , but I first thought the other word was Moor , but I got it , so I was READING THE ROOM ! Another great thirsty-Thursday ! I think I’ll have some Zevia ! Everyone have a great thirst-Thursday !!!!!

  4. 👎🏻 He’s a young boy just looking for laughs,
    But he’s surely committing a gaffe…
He’s def in the wrong place,
    See him falling from grace…
As he upsets the Library staff?…👎🏻

🤷🏻‍♂️Perhaps stand-up might be in the cards,
Telling jokes…he can let down his guard…
But for now Al need know,
    The Library’s no go…
And the joking he needs to discard…🤷🏻‍♂️

🃏There’s a time and a place for all things,
And right now what Al’s bringing don’t swing…
    Here’s where quiet’s the rule,
    Yet Al’s acting the fool…
As he offers his last little zing…🃏

🤦🏻‍♀️Other kids look at him with disdain,
Trying to study they don’t need the strain…
    Yet Al’s so unaware,
    This kid?…Devil-may-care…
So the librarian’s making it plain…🤦🏻‍♀️

🛑 “This is surely no Comedy Club,
Which is why your humor gets a snub…
    So if you can’t behave,
    And this foolishness waive?
You’ll be ousted because of your flub”! 🛑

  5. He failed to read the room
Thus descended an air of gloom
    And as a humorous bloke
    Who just wanted to joke
The library felt like a tomb!

  6. Such an easy miss today…and can’t quite imagine missing the blind solve, especially not seeing the word READING. Oh well. Anagrams were easy and found the solution pretty quickly. Actually, am still laughing at the little boy’s comment to the teacher, although it was a bit sassy of him !! Good song, Angela. Always loved the Coasters.

    • I really think Jeff had him say that to give a Shout Out to Mr Jaffee’s famous SATSQ…The man possessed amazing wit…The Coasters…Definitely 2 thumbs up! 👍🏻👍🏻🤷🏻‍♀️

  7. I loved this puzzle. Exodus gave me trouble until I remembered it from past struggles. I see from Angela that the word hasn’t been used for over two years. The Ing ending was the first thing I spotted, then Room.

  8. This one is obscure. I’ve never heard of the phrase READING the ROOM. In a library one would be READING a BOOK, I note that both ROOM and BOOK have a double O in them. This invites shadow solutions, but although some sound like they make sense, most of them are ungrammatical. These include MARRIED the GOON (funny but ungrammatical), GRAINED the ROOM, REAMING the DOOR, ANGRIER the MOOD, and ROAMING the DOER.

    • In the entertainment business “reading the room” means getting a feel for the audience that your playing to..sometimes you’ll hear comics say “man, it’s a tough crowd tonight”; meaning that you gotta work hard to get a laugh from them.

      • Which is exactly what little Al is saying! …And entertainment business aside, it’s a common phrase. I use it often…and I’m always reading the room! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️

    • READING THE/A ROOM a very common phrase in my lifetime. Used a lot by comics, magicians, etc….prior to going on…checking the audience vibe and all.

      • I have to say again, that not only is it a common phrase/idiom, it’s definitely not limited to performers alone. You walk into a party, a bar, any social function…You look around….you’re reading the room. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  9. Good morning. I was stumped on the last two words. I couldn’t remember them from the last time they were used. No blind solve but easily done once the letters were down. Give you a home run on your song pick Angela. Always nice to hear that one. Until tomorrow take care.

  10. Wipeout Thursday! Got stumped on exodus and then even though having the letters, didn’t have a clue on the cartoon solution! Yikes!

  11. Cute puzzle this morning. Enjoyed the dialogue. Like Caroline I first figured ing then room. Happy Thursday all!

  12. I love Jumble but I rarely laugh at the cartoons. However when the kid says “ such a tough crowd”, I cracked up! Sooooo fuunnnnyyyy!

  13. If “door” is used as a transitive verb, DOORING THE MARE can also be a choice . . .
