🔠 We see Sparky has a point here, a search engine will ACCEPT,
Someone TARDY to the party far as spelling’s being kept…
He’s JUNIOR league it seems to be, his wife says, “What’s the deal”?
She puns and teases…”For as long as you’ve taken the wheel?
You GROVE around the Internet…oh, drove is what I meant…
Seems you should spell the word right…after all the time you’ve spent…”
But Sparky has an answer, he plugs in what he detects…
Will be enough and if not? …He’ll rely on AUTOCORRECT! 🔠
AUTOCORRECT…. https://tinyurl.com/4fwktfkc For those times perhaps when we don’t want to type in the whole LONG word…And for some…the TYPO who have trouble spelling…it’s a help…For others though, who’ve been BURNT a time or two? It’s HELLo…
So…Today we see Sparky Plug and his wife, Mercedes, who reside in ORLANDO. And on the wall, a poster sporting the Chevrolet logo.https://tinyurl.com/ym9b2mrh Sparky, a toy car aficionado, spends his time searching the web for various models to add to his Chevy collection. And where Mercedes is right, that he should be a TRAILBLAZER by now, spelling CHEVROLET to a “T’, Sparky feels that he can just CRUZE along, no CAPRICE, as CAVALIER as they come. So her BERETTAing him falls on deaf ears…He just VENTUREs along knowing that any COMBOnation of letters, as long as he’s in the ballPARK, will get him where he’s going. Because that’s what AUTOCORRECT does…FIXES things…as stated in our question, and shown upon the screen. And today, in Sparky’s case?…Literally…it’s CORRECTing the spelling of the name of the AUTO…And who could ASKA for anything more?!
But…as many of us know, there’s also a downside to Autocorrect. I, for one, have many a time found myself “saying” things I didn’t NINTENDO…And at times, it’s driven me DUCKING crazy…(note here…either way it’s FOWL language)…And it can be dangerous too…That story where the word Wife was suSPOUSED to be Wi-Fi?…Boy, that one really changed THONGS…We just need to be WEARY of it…Last week in fact, I received a text where the word killed was changed to KILT. That one I did laugh off though…I thought it was well PLAID. But a friend of mine, who had a GRAPE job as a programmer for Autocorrect, recently told me that he was FRIED for no RAISIN…and I’m not sure if he was just TESTING me out of FRUITstration…Anyway…just keep in mind that while Autocorrect can be helpful, it can also be our worst ENEMA…You MESS up on one letter and it RUNS everything…
SEW…There you have it, Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be SPELL, be kind, stay safe…and I’ll leave you with what is probably my worst AutoINcorrect situation… A friend of mine asked my advice on what was good for her dry hair. Hello start of a new Monday jumble week ! And as usual I got it all very satisfactory ! The one anagram that put me back from senior was JUNIOR ! But everything was according to as planned ! When I saw Chevrolet and the word CORRECT came to me the letters that were left were AUTO ! I was smiling ! Another great Monday jumble ! Everyone have a great Monday , start of the week and drive safe !
When I first spotted the Chevy in today’s Jumble, I had a thought in the back of my mind about Dinah Shore singing that wonderfully tuneful commercial from yesteryear !! As others will today, they’ll equate AUTO and CHEVROLET and most probably come up with a blind solve. And all the anagrams were speedily unscrambled, too. My only pondering will be Angela’s dry hair joke….hmmm. Have a great Monday.
I love the campiness of that Chevy commercial….it’s still playing in my head! It really is amazing the things that can be found online..As for the dry hair joke…Pantene is a brand of hair products. I figured that was a given. Panettone is a bread/cake very popular amongst the Italians. I guess I thought that was well known too…Smiling yet? 😂🙋🏻♀️ https://tinyurl.com/mr36zrjh
Yes…knew about Pantene products….not so much Panettone. But yes, am smiling.
👍🏻😂🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. Another satisfying Monday, both parts of jumble done with ease. Enjoyed your song choice Angela and your posts. That 53 Chevy was the car I learned to drive on that my father had. No automatic in that car. Until tomorrow stay well and be safe.
Oh the memories ! How about the 3-on-the-tree column shift ?
Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. Be well and stay safe out there…🔠🙋🏻♀️
A blind solve of the cartoon w the obvious Chevrolet clues! I grew up in a Chevrolet family as my Dad had a 36 until after the war , then a 48 he bought used in 50, a 52 he bought in 54, and a 56 he bought in 58, but then changed to a 60 Pontiac he bought in 63! Definitely a GM family when I was growing up.
Nice and easy solve this morning. Perfect song choice this morning, Miss Angela. I wonder if it’s in the Commercial Hall of Fame along with Speedy Alkaseltzer. We were a Chevrolet family too. Happy Monday all!
Weren’t we all,Chevy families back then?
I seem to remember that there was a rivalry between Chevrolet and Ford. Folks were either Chevy fans or Ford fans. Same with baseball in the olden days, you either rooted for the Yankees or the Dodgers when both were in located in New York, of course.
Hi Betty. Thank you. I’m not familiar with a Commercial Hall of Fame, and I’m not having much luck finding anything on it that could attest to the jingle being a part of it. But when I was searching for the song last night I came across this article that I found very interesting. I never knew much about Ms Shore…but I do now…I think you may enjoy it. We weren’t a Chevrolet Family…we never had a car! My Father, Buonanima, never drove…Hope all is well with you and yours…Ciao! ❤️ https://tinyurl.com/3nvdvm5c
No there isn’t actually a commercial hall of fame. I watched a program a few years back that showed old commercials that were considered classics : Speedy, Doublemint Twins, Brylcream, etc. Enjoyed the article about Dinah Shore. She was on TV for a very long time and a really good entertainer.
That I think I remember, the program. Glad you enjoyed the article…Have a good night…🙋🏻♀️
