  1. Good Morning, Everyone…🦛WEIGHING IN!🦛

🎶For goodness sake…I got the HIPPY HIPPY shake…I’ve got to shake…the hippy hippy shake…🎶… “The Hippy Hippy Shake” – The Beatles 1963 https://tinyurl.com/4ka4ecc7

🦛I definitely have a PHOBIA ‘bout lots of God’s good creatures,
These puzzles sometimes get to me when such become the features…
Thank goodness that the RATIO is nothing to compare,
Liken it to a PIXEL …so the number I can bear…
Making things worse these words today to fit this theme? Quite TRICKY,
So coming up with this here rhyme? Trust me it was no quickie…
I’m giving it my best shot…relying on true grit…
‘Tween words and these here hippos? Fun? I’d be a “HIPPO-CRIT”! 🦛

Unlike coming up with that rhyme…that was like pulling TEETH…there was no WEIGHTing to get this solve today. Hippopotamus comes from the Greek word meaning “River Horse”… https://tinyurl.com/2p83rehc …so our question alone, especially with the quotation marks WET the stage…Add that to the HIPPOs being hugely displayed, the pot-calling-the-kettle-black = hypocritical dialogue from the Dad…plus the quotes repeated in the answer, letting us know that we’d be REEDing a misspelling? WATER we got? We got ourselves a “HIPPO-CRIT” …. https://tinyurl.com/29nna3cy …NO SWEAT!

Jeff’s Gem? A verbal one today…Hippos spend their days in the water, but they don’t eat…they LEAF the water at night and graze around for food… https://tinyurl.com/4em4t2pw …So as for that snacking comment? …SHOOT…says a MOUTHFUL about Jeff’s whimsy!…And as for what’s in Junior’s mouth? MEN, U figure it out…I’m still having trouble digesting the whole thing!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And I can’t find much humor to be had with a hippopotamus…so I’ll just LEAF you with this…What’s the difference between a Hippo and a ZIPPO? One is really heavy while the other is a LITTLE LIGHTER…And yes, I know…it’s not carrying much WEIGHT…🦛🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️The lesson of the day, PIXEL RATIO in images, proved TRICKY for a student, but his claim that he had a PHOBIA about certain colors made him sound like a HYPOCRITE…it was a graphic arts class after all…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤦🏻‍♂️The RATIO of entries compared to winning slots,
Made them seem almost PIXEL-like…slim chances for the lot…
With PHOBIA the theme this week, the ad had called it TRICKY,
But with so many submissions…things started looking sticky…
The art director weeded out the ones he felt best fit…
And hoped no one would balk and label him a HYPOCRITE…🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. Boy oh boy , I need to get me some tacos today! I had a tough time with RATiO , but I got the rest ! The jumble I got, once I saw that a “ river horse” was a Hippo , and once I did , HIPPO was right there and CRIT was left to be a HIPPOCRIT ! But nothing an order of won ton tacos can’t take care of ! Great song by the Beatles , Angela ! One of my favorite musicians ! So everyone have a nice taco-Tuesday !!!!’

  4. To be truthful, didn’t know whether today’s puzzle started with RHINO or HIPPO, but a quick scan of the anagrams saw a couple of P’s there, so went with HIPPO and figured CRIT probably followed. Will count that as a blind solve. That being said, when I solved anagrams, had to back in PIXEL. Cute little joke, Angela….always love ’em !! Have a great Taco Tuesday.

  5. Good morning. I was stuck on Phobia and went to the cartoon and reading the dialogue I knew the first word was Hippo which meant that after putting all the letters down I needed HPO to get the first word. The last word was easy to get now. Until tomorrow stay well and be safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Well done! Be well and stay safe out there…🦛🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Stumped by the hippo river horse connection despite being a former “classical Greek” HS student , so couldn’t solve the cartoon!

  7. Nice and easy Tuesday puzzle. I like the song “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas”. Our S.F. Symphony played it at one of their Christmas Concerts – it’s really funny. Have a good day all!
