They felt it had a double PUNCH, being light as a feather…
The color of it SUPERB, a DRAGON red and gold,
And they were sure it’d be a hit…with many dozens sold
They made a special display, built a brand new wooden stand…
Convinced they had a winner…dubbed the shoe their UPPER HAND!👠
It’s Saturday weekend ! And what a way to end the week ! Lately , I’ve been having more difficulty in one or two anagrams than the jumble solution ! And today , added to that ! The two anagrams that made me raise an eyebrow were DRAGON and SUPERB ! WEAVE was there with thread , and that led me to PUNCH it out ! The jumble was a royal flush and I did feel like the UPPER HAND ! Great way to end the week Saturday !!!!!
Today was a mini-blind solve. .on a first look, saw HAND, then saw a few P’s and a U in the anagrams and came up with UPPER. Anagrams were easy and that finished up the puzzle. Marsha wants to know if you do the Wordle…or any other puzzles? Have a great Saturday.
Hi Terry. I’m figuring you’re asking the question of me, not Jeff or David. If I’m wrong, my apologies…But yes, I play Wordle every day. I also do the three crossword puzzles in my paper, the NY Daily News, plus David & Jeff’s Boggle Brain Busters daily. And I then play David’s other games, Just Jumble, Giant Jumble Crosswords, Word Search World Traveler, Word Search World Hollywood, and Up & Down Words on a daily basis. I also have Just 2 Words and Just 2 Words Plus, two more of David’s Apps, loaded to my iPad, but I’ve finished all the puzzles in both games, so there’s no daily playing of those any more until David creates some new puzzles. He does post a puzzle similar to them, a See & Solve puzzle, each Tuesday and Sunday on Facebook, and I do both of those. Plus I play Scrabble Classic Words, against the iPad each day. And I do Sudoku and Kakuro 🔢on a daily basis also….🔠🙋🏻♀️
You’re a real puzzle afficianado (sp). I just do two…LA Times and USA Today. One other puzzle in our paper that I like is “7 Little Words”. Thanks.

The first anagram, WAVEE, perhaps is a word by itself. It means the person you are waving your hand at. I am surprised they allow the second word NPH*C,in a family newspaper. And the last one could be SUPER B, which means the Super Bowl, where someone forgot the OWL. Hoot, hoot. The printing in my newspaper did not come out well. What did the guy in the upper right say? Did he say “Are a pair of clovers good”, meaning perhaps two clubs, or did he say, “Are a pair of elevens good?” which would imply an augmented deck. It seems to me a pair of elevens would beat a royal flush any day, because normally there aren’t any elevens in a deck. That’s especially true if one of them is an eleven of clubs.

No problem after pausing on the spelling of superb, the cartoon was a quick obvious solve, with hand as an obvious choice for the 4 letter word quickly followed by the entire solution!
DECK could have an obvious answer to the four letter word!!
