    💡The RIGOR of the week set in, some things shouldn’t be LAWFUL,
    Our guy here Red was so worn out…his whole week just plain awful…
    His working as a KNIGHT watchman…(Oops…sorry, I meant night),
    Had really knocked him off his feet…exhaustion he did fight…
    Came Saturday and his wife said…”There’s chores, I hope you’re ready”,
    To which Red said…”Nope not today…and don’t go getting PETTY…
    I’m fixin’ to remain in bed…all week fought the good fight…
    Now it’s just me and my new book…’til I’m OUT LIKE A LIGHT”! 💡

    So…KNIGHT. Show of hands…✋🏻Night? Thing? Think? Taking? Heard it all this morning….That’s what happens sometimes when the Early Birds SCAN the PAGE and shout things OUT too quickly…You know, before the LIGHT BULB goes off… https://tinyurl.com/mrxrskcy …And I’m always like…”READ, Guys…READ”…

    Ok…Today we see our guy RED refusing to take things LYING DOWN…Figuratively I mean, not LIGHTerally…. Exhausted after a grueling workweek, he’s decided to spend the day relaxing…and refuses to have his wife pull the wool over his eyes…instead, he’s pulling the wool over his exhausted body…and has decided to stay in bed all day and read to his heart’s content…until it’s time to SLEEP…Good for him…he’s finally showing some SPINE! SHINE on, Red…SHINE on! …And his companion? That LIGHT, LU MEN. (It used to be MENdelssohn but he SHORTened it…used up too much ENERGY saying the whole thing)…But anyway, as far as our solve goes? Definitely way too easy to see the LIGHT with this one, Folks…We couldn’t have asked for better READING material! Today’s cartoon, question and dialogue? LEAFS nothing to the imagination…Note the half-closed eyes on both Red and Lu…heavy-lidded for sure…about to CLOSE…DRAWN to perfection! And our question giving us SHUT OFF? An OPEN and SHUT case…Not to mention WATT Lu’s saying…”I’m so TIRED”…Of course he is…The whole time Red’s been relaxing, he’s been working! WATTS up with that? Poor guy…So…the bottom line here today? Two…One to screw it most of the way in, and the other to give it a surprise twist at the end…No? Ok, WATT about this then…How many psychiatrists does it take to screw in a light bulb? Just one…but the bulb has got to really WATT to change…Nothing yet? Ok…How about…How many actors does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Again, just one…They don’t like to share the spotlight…WATT?? Still nothing? Well forget it then…I’m BURNT…and I’m just gonna BOOK!💡🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤷🏻‍♂️Even though he considered it PETTY, he looked at it from a LAWFUL point of view and figured the day-in, day-out RIGOR of the job probably makes it necessary for the Captain to appear as a KNIGHT in shining armor now and then…and his critical judgement was put OUT LIKE A LIGHT…🤷🏻‍♂️

    🤦🏻‍♂️They studied RIGOR mortis, and he didn’t hold up well,
    To his partner he’d not look a KNIGHT…she’d definitely not kvell…
    Thank God she wasn’t PETTY, she’d not tease him for his faults,
    She’d act as if it LAWFUL…to keep secrets in the vault
    He’s hoping that he doesn’t faint…now that would be a sight…
    If he were to keel over and just go OUT LIKE A LIGHT…🤦🏻‍♂️

  4. So nice to see Angela on a creative joke post this morning. You done well. No blind solve for me….even with the LIGHT shining in the puzzle solution, couldn’t put the needed words to start the phrase. Anyway, as I’ve been doing most of the week, was relegated to anagram unscrambling to finish the puzzle. Solved those, took out A LIGHT and the rest was history. Have a great Saturday and see you tomorrow.

  5. Good morning , end of the week , Saturday weekend ! Nice jumble to end the week and turn out the lights ! The anagrams were very friendly ! The jumble I had to find a few words , but then when I got LIGHT and OUT , I saw LIKE and A ! So the jumble I , put OUT LIKE A LIGHT ! A very informative comment Angela and all the examples and comparisons were very descriptive ! Everyone have a great weekend !!!!

  6. Good morning. Thought everything was a breeze. Didn’t check my words after getting them and went straight to the cartoon and came up with a blind solve but checking the letters it didn’t work so I double checked them and found that the third word was not awful but lawful. Once I corrected that mistake everything was fine. Your opening lines with the song words Angela put a smile on my face. Enjoyed your post. As always take care and be safe.

          • Hello Angela! I definitely like your “I’m just gonna book” phrase. Growing up in central Texas, we used the phrase “Let’s book!” meaning “Let’s get out of here.”
