  1. Good Morning, Everyone..I hope this finds you well…
For those of you who know me, you know that I’m a huge sports fan. And at any other time I’d have had a field day with this puzzle. But today my heart is very heavy, and as far as I’m concerned it’s not just business as usual in the sports world. Keep in mind, these puzzles are submitted at least 6 weeks in advance, so there’s no insensitivity by David or Jeff being displayed here. The puzzle was scheduled, so here it is…just a strange twist of fate. No one could have foreseen what took place Monday night. Or maybe we could…but I’m not going to get into that. But out of respect for Damar Hamlin, I’m not going to make puns or football jokes today or try to entertain in any way. As I said, it’s not business as usual…and my thoughts and prayers are with Damar and his family…

In Gridiron Football, a touchdown PASS is a pass thrown from the passer (usually the Quarterback) to a receiver that results in a touchdown being scored. Bart Starr, https://tinyurl.com/2n6ewu37 as the little boy’s suggesting, was a Superstar Quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, and went on to become their Head Coach. And as the Grandfather is saying, all of Bart’s prowess was YEARS AGO. So as far as our solve goes, taking heed of the quotation marks…It was IN THE “PASSED”…

Have a good day…Be well, be kind, stay safe…and please keep Damar Hamlin in your prayers.

    I STAND WITH UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦

  3. IN the PASSED is not grammatical. So there could be a shadow solution. And indeed there is: IN the SPADES. That isn’t grammatical either, but since this guy made a lot of passes and touchdowns, it fits the expression “in spades”. To me these two solutions are equally good, or bad.

  4. Yes, let’s keep Damar in our thoughts and prayers. Today’s puzzle cryptic enough to prohibit a blind solve, but no problem after easy anagrams unscrambled. I remember those days very well as my parents had K.C. Chiefs season tickets and attended that first Super Bowl game (though it wasn’t called the Super Bowl then). Close game at the half but the Packers ran away in the second half. Yes, Bart very formidable opponent !!

  5. No jump today ! I got all the anagrams except I had to DEFUSE that one , but the rest were a PRIZE ! And at the FINAL , the jumble came SNAPPY ! Old quarterbacks in the the past was easily IN THE PASSED , another great jumble for mid week , no hump-day Wednesday ! And speaking of football , Nothing new on Damar Hamlin , and I hope he will pull through , I’ve been listening since his collapse as I watched the game ! Angela , my thoughts are with him ! Everyone have a great Wednesday to get over the hump-day !!!!!!

  6. Nice and easy puzzle this morning on a very wet a rainy day. We’re apparently due for a MONSTER RAIN STORM this afternoon. We’ve had years of drought and now we get all the rain at once. Heaven Help Us! 🌧 ☔️ 💧

  7. Good evening. Just got back from a full day out. Todays jumble was again easy. No blind solve but quickly done. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
