  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🔧A DIFFERENT KIND OF FENDER BENDER? 🔧
    🎶Herbie The Love Bug Theme🎶 – written by George Bruns – circa 1969 https://tinyurl.com/f2k8dras

🔧 At times he did EXERT himself, determined as he was,
(I’m scrapping JOIST and AGENCY…the reason is because…
They don’t work with the theme today, in fact neither does FUSION,
We’re talking DIY here…but these words? Led to confusion)…
It’s Jeff we need to speak about and Kathy’s agitation…
As his determination has now become a FIXATION! 🔧

I took a pass on melding today’s words into a cohesive rhyme…but in my defense, the PARTS just didn’t fit…And after WRENCHing my brain trying, I JOIST, I mean I just refused to let it WRECK my day…

Ok…So since I’m not familiar with the MECHANICS of Jeff’s life, I can’t say if this was really a PART of it…if it was something he was DRAWN to in his SPARE time…FIXING and restoring old cars…But if he didn’t TIRE of the work? And he FENDER-ed for himself?… Then I say more power to him! You gotta love a man who’s DRIVEN to finish something that he’s started…and not just BOLT at the slightest inconvenience…

So…Today we turn back the clock, and find a younger version of our illustrious Jumble artist Jeff and his bride, the always lovely Kathy, a dismantled Beetle Volkswagen, “Herbie the Love Bug”… https://tinyurl.com/yzjv7ya3 and a little dissENGINE…I mean dissension. Seems like for the last month or so, Jeff’s been PLUGging away trying to get Herbie running…but in Kathy’s oPINION he’s just gotten himself into a HULL of a FIX…And she’s like…”Don’t you think you AUTO give up with this and TURN IT OVER to a professional”? And she does have a POINT there, I suppose…But the solution to their deLEMON? I don’t know…What I do know is that the solution to ours was a SPEEDy one…And we have Jeff to TANK for it…His dialogue? “I CAN do this…I KNOW I CAN”? Sheer determination…he’s FIXATED on getting it done…And he’ll probably tOIL away at his FIXATION https://tinyurl.com/529fp95j for as long as it takes…or until Kathy blows a GASKET and puts the BRAKES on the whole thing….whichever comes first…

    …And the 53 on Jeff’s shirt? https://tinyurl.com/mu3rwsep Herbie’s number of course…

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…and if you’re going to take on a job like this, it’s always wise to get yourself a STARTER kit…it’ll definitely help towards getting things RUNNING smoothly…🔧 🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤦🏻‍♂️Distracted by his FIXATION on the jazz FUSION playing, he did EXERT himself lifting the JOIST at the AGENCY…🤦🏻‍♂️

🔨 He needed to EXERT himself if he was to compete,
For the job at the AGENCY…being built down the street…
A bid was made, he priced supplies….the list read JOIST and beam,
    He thought about wood’s FUSION…and making a perfect seam…
He brought along his photos…of every past creation…
And hoped he’d be successful…since this job? Now a FIXATION!…🔨

  4. It’s taco-Tuesday ! It all went smooth except I had to look at the jumble AGENCY, and couldn’t believe I didn’t see it ! But the jumble was definitely my love for this game cause I have a FIXATION on jumbles ! So I’m gonna get some tacos and smile ! Everyone have a great taco-Tuesday !!!!!!!

  5. Today’s Jumble brought a small dose of humility back into my solving prowess. Not even a quick peek at the anagrams, and seeing that big X of the first one, gave me a needed hint for a blind solve. So…off I went anagram solving, and of course, AGENCY gave pause, and I stumbled over that word. After trying all sorts of letter combinations, finally came up with the anagram solve by using a vowel first (that usually works for me)….then it was easy to sprint to the finish line !!

Ahhhh, Herbie, Love Bugs and a nostalgic morning !!!

  6. Good morning. Another good day. The words came to me pretty easy and once I put all the letters down fixation came immediately. I had two VW’s at different times. The bus which couldn’t get out of its own way and the beetle. The beetle was in my brothers backyard in NJ for two years and a few people were unable to get it running. It was mine if I could get it out of there so I brought my wife’s brother and within the hour it ran and he hooked up lights to get it back to Brooklyn. I drove it back and forth to work for about a year and then gave it to my other brother-in-law. Interesting times. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  7. No problem w the anagrams and a blind solve of the cartoon puzzle. Do or die today, finally, for my ‘Indians’ vs the Yankees. Go Tribe!

  8. Miss Betty with the Volkswagen 🚘…I know you won’t let this one go by without posting! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. My very first car was a chartreuse VW Beetle. I remember a wonderfully illustrated book, How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive. That’s the inspiration in today’s cartoon.

    • My Bug is Bahama Blau paid $1500.00 for her because the dealer allowed me a $300.00 trade in for my ‘56 Bug. With the price of gas, I’ve paid for her all over again this past year. Since they no longer made unleaded gasoline, I have to put Premium in her. I think I paid $30.00 for about 3 gallons the other day. We have a fellow in the city who has several VW Buses and takes people on tours – Van Go!

  10. Clever puzzle this morning. Can totally relate to the cartoon. I think I may have mentioned it before but I am the original owner and still drive my 1966 VW Bug – “Volksy”. She has been on the Road of Life with me. I bought her when I was single and recently taught my grandson how to drive her. When folks see her they invariably smile, give me a thumbs up or the peace sign ☮️. Have a wonderful mechanic who restores Porsches (VW is a poor man’s Porsche) so no scenes in my garage like today’s cartoon. Happy travels to you all!

    • You are so right. I had a series of little old German mechanics who took good care of her but as they have all retired it was getting harder and harder to find someone to work on her since they are all younger than the car and really don’t know how to fine tune her. This fellow is worth his weight in gold as he really likes old cars. He leaves his Mini Cooper in my garage and drives the Bug to his shop. I think he likes to drive her.
