🎶 Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee every little BIRD in the tall oak tree…The wise old owl, the big black crow flappin’their wings singing GO BIRD GO…🎶 “Rockin’ Robin” – Bobby Day 1958 https://tinyurl.com/2p8h8ru8
🦅 We see their kids have flown the coop…an idiom well known,
It might not be a coop…but just the same these birds have flown…
They’ll now sleep on their own PALLET, they’ll search for seeds and chum,
They leave behind a SHAKEN pair…but happiness will come…
A sweeter tweet will soon be STRUM, as their kids now take wing,
Takes time but they’ll get used to it…it’s part of what life brings
They won’t be WEARY for too long…not wise if sadness festers…
They’re not the first…won’t be the last of nature’s EMPTY NESTERS! 🦅
Ok…All new anagrams…But, uh…Let’s not say this one’s for the BIRDS…but with all due respect…this was just way too easy breezy. The Early Birds FLEW through it…and except for a discussion over who did and didn’t know the definition of PALLET, (vs Palette vs Palate)…it was a wrap in no time.
So…A nest, two birds aloft, our dialogue…”their children were able to LEAVE HOME”…And …What’s not to SEEd?…These Eagle parents were EMPTY NESTERS!https://tinyurl.com/2zhun49n
So…There you have it Folks…Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe and keep in mind…EMPTY NEST…Free as a BIRD! 🦅🙋🏻♀️
👫🏻 Finding themselves EMPTY NESTERS after many years of ups and downs, joys and STRUM Und Drang, they felt a bit WEARY and SHAKEN at first…but compared to these birds, who sleep upon a tree-top PALLET…they were definitely ahead of the game! 👫🏻
🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♂️ He sat and played a mellow song, now feeling kind of WEARY,
And with each STRUM his wife would sigh…she spent the day all teary…
Their youngest child had just moved out…and Mom was kind of SHAKEN,
He told her..”It’s not like we’re not still parents when we waken,
She won’t sleep on a PALLET, and you taught her how to cook…
She’ll do just fine, like all the rest…you shouldn’t be this shook…”
But she told him…”It’s way too soon for us to act like jesters…
I didn’t think I’d feel this bad with us as EMPTY NESTERS”! 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♂️
Pretty easy week. Today did not vary. I enjoyed the solution though it was obvious.
Let’s see what Sunday brings….
👨👩👧👦 Raising kids…not for the faint of heart,
Ups and downs… then they leave home and hearth…
And your feelings are mixed,
But now you’ll be bewitched..
By the one you pledged …”death due us part”…👨👩👧👦
👫🏻 Newfound freedom may feel strange at first,
But in time you’ll see that bubble burst…
And you’ll find things anew,
To enjoy…just you two…
And the sadness you’ll see is reversed! 👫🏻
💁🏻♀️Empty nesting takes time to adjust,
But there could be newfound wanderlust…
You’re free to come and go,
Yes, you’ll miss them…although…
You’ll no longer be harried and rushed! 💁🏻♂️
Good morning to you all, and as one of a PALLET” of jumble solvers I want to share, since my little bro Jim got me started on the jumble journey, this was my first time solving everything right away ! I wasn’t even “SHAKEN” or “WEARY”, each time an answer would “STRUM” from my head I was more excited and “EMPTY NESTER” was a treat to solve – Yeah ! Thank you Angela, for the song choice – this was a Triumphant Jumble Day ! Until tomorrow – everyone have a sunny day !
Good Morning, Suz, thank you…and wishing you a sunny day too.🦅🙋🏻♀️
Like others, an easy Saturday Jumble paired with an excellent song choice….one of my favorite songs when gigging on the piano…kinda like a Jerry Lee Lewis wannabe !!! About tomorrow, Sunday?? I might already have that puzzle as erroneously published earlier in the week by mistake. If it concerns Gen. MacArthur, that is. Enjoy this awesome Saturday.
Hey Terry. Yes, you do have tomorrow’s puzzle…another easy, breezy one…so you’re ahead of the game! Glad you enjoyed the music. 🦅🙋🏻♀️
Now that the kids have said their goodbyes
WE can now consider good buys
We’ll take off on our quest
For a much smaller nest
Yes, it’s really time to downsize!
Good morning ! Nice jumble today ! The anagrams were smooth and when I read the jumble phrase out loud, and described the cartoon , Suzie said I got it ! EMPTY NESTERS ! Heading home tomorrow from Alabama , cause this eagle has landed ! Everyone have a great weekend !
You too, Jim.🦅🙋🏻♀️
When I saw the cartoon, I immediately thought of EMPTY NESTERS. The only problem is that NESTERS is apparently not a word, at least not according to Wordsmith, which gave me EMPTY RESENTS instead. But it is in Merriam-Webster but there it means a squatter. In any case, this Jumble is a boomerang metaphor, which is a metaphor that goes from A to B and back to A again. In particular, the term “empty nesters” came to mean a couple all of whose children had grown. The term comes from having a robin’s nest full of baby robins all grow up and leave the next. But this Jumble then takes this metaphor and makes it into a metaphor for eagles whose chicks had grown.
Super easy solve this morning. It’s been a very easy week. Happy Saturday all!
Same to you, Betty! 🦅🙋🏻♀️
I was thinking empty parents, but lacking another P empty nesters popped into mind, despite leaving on a rainy road trip
