🎶 Life in the city can make you crazy, the sounds of the sand and the sea (I’m of the sea)…Life in a high-rise can make you hungry for things that you can’t even see…FLY AWAY…FLY AWAY…🎶 “Fly Away” – John Denver 1975 https://tinyurl.com/2zvhay7z
🪶We’ve learned birds of a feather by rule fly together,
But here the old FABLE falls through…
Our bird we hear BLURT, “There’s no way I’ll be hurt,
To my PALACE I’ll not say adieu”…
And this cat who’s named PEANUT has def met his match,
For our bird here’s not one he can catch…
Is it all false bravado…is he foolish or practical?
Either one he’s definitely UNFLAPPABLE! 🪶
With the FLAPPING wings of the frightened, departing three birds so obvious, and the very leading tone of our question…”didn’t…in the face of danger”…https://tinyurl.com/3vyjpuh9 there’s no way this solve is up in the air…Our featured bird is definitely UNFLAPPABLE!
So…There you have it, Folks…Done. Be well, stay safe…and…remember to always 🎶Straighten Up and Fly Right🎶… https://tinyurl.com/47ena57e 🪶🙋🏻♀️
And it’s only the anagram of FLEAB that’s been seen before, back in 2002…
Really enjoyed today’s J!
It was fun.
Sweet week so far!
Good morning Wednesday hump-day ! I couldn’t get over the jumble hump ! Two anagrams were not there ! One I had to eat a PEANUT and two i had to eat it in the PALACE . As for the jumble , if I was a bird trying to do this jumble , I definitely would be UNFLAPPABLE ! This one I couldn’t see any connection ! The last few jumbles spoiled me ! Have a good Wednesday !!
Tough goings in Jumbledom today. PEANUT and PALACE very difficult. In fact, after a mini-blind solve, tried to back in PALACE and had the A-A-P to consider….and still couldn’t figure it out. Thought it was APLACE, which I kinda knew was wrong, but gave me the puzzle cartoon answer I was looking for. As for songs, we’ve discussed this before, but there are literally hundreds of FLY songs out there…so to choose just one is hard to do. Good choice, Angela. See you on a better Thursday !!
Tks, Terry! 🪶🙋🏻♀️
Peanut and Palace threw me – this one was kind of hard. I suppose the king in this Palace would be considered –
King Nut !
Oh well, tomorrow’s another day – have a great hump day everyone !
Hi All – I also had a very hard time getting Peanut and Palace, even after I knew the answer. Once again, I got a big kick out of Jeff’s drawing of the defiant bird and the cat looking to pounce.
Good morning. I was able to get all the words with a long pause for Peanut but when I finally got it I just laughed at how easy it was. I just couldn’t get past the cartoon answer though. I was flabbergasted at not being able to get unflappable. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
That cat with the evil eye
Thinks I’m going to take off and fly
But I’ll just stand my ground
I will not fly around
And HE will take off by and by!
Couldn’t see Palace today for love or money. Did get Unflappable without doing the last anagram but ran out of time on Palace. A bird named Peanut decided to Blurt out a Fable about living in a Palace. It was living in that gilded cage that made him Unflappable. Angela soared with a John Denver tune. I will Fly Like an Eagle with Steve Miller. Hoping for better outcome tomorrow!
Like everyone else, I had problems with PEANUT and PALACE. I tried ABLE at the end of the answer and quickly saw UNFLAPPABLE. Fun one today.
It hailed a lot here yesterday in SoCal. It normally hails every 10 to 20 years, so it was very unusual.
🪶 Not one to be shaken or stirred,
What we have here is one daring bird….
There’s no ruffling his feathers,
At these get-togethers…
He’s hardly one to get perturbed! 🪶
🦅 While the other birds they take on wing,
We’ve got one bird the courage does bring…
He refuses to fly,
Just ‘cause a cat came by…
Doubting that it’s a swan song he’ll sing! 🦅
🪶 Where once four we’re now left with just one,
And he stands there and basks in the sun…
No, he’s not easily swayed,
Shows no sign of afraid…
And he has no intention to run! 🪶
Ditto for me w peanut, and the many letters for the cartoon answer, before literally stumbling onto the solution.
Cute puzzle this morning. Had to back into peanut but other than that, things fell nicely into place. Love the look on that bird’s face. Happy Wednesday all!

Peanut could have been untape!
Hi Marianne. David only uses words that appear in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary…
