Good Morning, Everyone… I hope this finds you well…
🌾 ONE MAN’S THRESH-ER…IS ANOTHER MAN’S TOO! 🌾
🎶 Bringing in the SHEAVES, bringing in the sheaves,…We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves,..🎶 “Bringing In The Sheaves” – The Mills Brothers (year unknown) https://tinyurl.com/2k7mt3hb
🌾 They tried their hand at farming…from a HOBBY fondness grew,
Enjoying it quite MADLY…but in need of help, they knew…
No time ‘round there for TEDIUM, a CANDID view they took,
They needed some equipment…that was true by hook or crook…
So they “gathered” wits about them, ready now to toe the line…
And they came up with the money…time now to BUY A COMBINE! 🌾
SOW…A little old time, inspirational Gospel music today… for a change of pace. Does my SOWL good…And God knows I could use the blessings…Sound CORNy? Well, it shouldn’t…After all, WHEAT do REAP what WHEAT SOW…and I do RYE my best…
Ok…Another little change of pace today, albeit not for the first THYME…All new anagrams! And while I got aGROUND them all lickity split, with no problems at all CROPping up, I’m going to be honest here in saying that I think CANDID may cause some THRESH-talking this morning…But the solve? Easy PICKINS’!
SOW here we are, DEERE readers…down on the farm…in the presence of three neighbor farmers…left to right: RYE-an, the HUSKy one, (I hope I don’t catch any FLAX for saying that)… OAT-is, and CORNelius, all three eyeing a COMBINE that’s up for sale. But it’s expensive…So figuring that they’ll save themselves some money by pooling it (COMBINE-ing it), they decide to CHIP in and buy the piece of machinery together…No interest charges, no miGRAINS worrying about BARLEY getting by with monthly payments…just cash and carry…Yep, they’ve definitely LANDed on a good idea…And SPELT out? That, Folks, is how you BUY A COMBINE! https://tinyurl.com/yc88twrm
The Gems? Not much to GLEAN today. Some silos seen in the distance and a LOT of PLOWed land. But the bit of whimsy? RYE-an, at left? His hat has a half-husked ear of Corn as a logo. That Jeff…He never ceases to aMAIZE me…
So, There you have it Folks, Done. TILL next time…Be well, stay safe…and I’m going to get back to this book I’ve been reading. It’s about a tribe of tall women living in a huge field of wheat, titled “The Amazon GRAIN Forest”…It’s ok so far…but I’m taking it all with a GRAIN of salt…🌾🙋🏻♀️
PEA-S…And I must say that I’m a little surprised the Combine doesn’t have the Jumble logo on it. Maybe Jeff got a little disTRACTed while he was drawing…🤷🏻♀️
🤦🏻♀️ Where once she was MADLY in love with him, the TEDIUM of his life, lacking even the simplest HOBBY, just got the best of her…and being CANDID, she suggested he BUY A COMBINE or something…🤦🏻♀️
🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♂️They needed a new HOBBY, to break the TEDIUM,
And being CANDID looked to find a happy medium…
This pandemic brought such boredom, they MADLY need a break,
But stuck in an apartment…what choices could they make?
A lot to be considered…so they mulled it over wine…
But again in an apartment? Well… they can’t BUY A COMBINE! 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️
Not a good one for me today ! I needed a COMBINE to harvest the words and jumble ! Middle of the week so I’m farming out ! Have a good day !
Tks,. You too, Jim. 🌾🙋🏻♀️
Today – Festa dell’Epifania – Feast of the Epiphany, is an important day in Italian homes…To us, it’s known as “Little Christmas”. We celebrate the end of the Holiday Season, by gift giving again, as the Wise Men did upon reaching the Christ Child… and feasting on a huge, wonderful dinner. And tomorrow the Christmas decorations come down. And of course, there’s the legend of La Befana, which is a treasure in itself. https://tinyurl.com/2p86nks2
Merry Little Christmas, Everyone…Salute, Cin Cin! Cent’Anni! 🎄🍷🙋🏻♀️
My grandfather’s Romanian Christian Church celebrated their Christmas on Jan 6.
I think a lot of the Orthodox Christian religions do so, Professor. I’m not sure…🙋🏻♀️
It’s the 12th day of Christmas. 500 years ago, even England celebrated it. They celebrated Christmas for12 days!
Like I still do! 🎄🙋🏻♀️
Thank you Angela for your extra goodies. In our German household my mother made it a point that we couldn’t take down our tree until after Little Christmas. My wife’s side which was Italian didn’t have the stockings stuffed on January 6. Maybe it was because they were born in this country. I’m gonna ask my bocce buddy if they know about what I learned today. Very interesting, thanks for all you do.
YVW, Paul. Both my parents were born and raised in Brooklyn, but we always kept to tradition I guess. So did all of my extended family too…It’s always been something to look forward to…And thank you for your kind words…Let me know what your friend says…🍷🙋🏻♀️
Much good news in Angela’s post….and I thought the Christmas season was over…Eat well, Angela. For me…I am the blind squirrel who came upon (not a midnight clear), but the puzzle answer with as blind solve (for a change). Saw the question and the light switch came on. Have to admit with answer in hand, had to back in TEDIUM. Thanks for sharing the Mills Brothers….think I’ll try to listen to Paper Doll today, too. Enjoy the festivities, Angela and thanks for sharing
Thank you, Terry. Hoping you enjoy your day too…🍷🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. Had to look up Tedium and although I solved the cartoon answer I wasn’t sure until later when the meaning of combine finally clicked. I had Buy and A right away. I was still trying to make other words with the remaining letters. Loved the Mills brothers. It has been awhile since I heard one of their songs. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. Definitely a clever one today…And I’m glad you enjoyed the music…it’s always good to listen to the Mills Brothers. Be well and stay safe…and fingers crossed 🤞🏻we don’t get a lot of (*^\! 🌾🙋🏻♀️
I also had to look up tedium and was obviously in good company with a lot of others,Then having the letters, the cartoon answer was a quick blind solve. Happy Epiphanyto one and all.
Tk you,,And a Happy Epiphany to you and yours, Professor. 🍷🙋🏻♀️
A quick blind solve,not a blind ‘love’.
👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
A piece of cake 100yr OLE LADY EL have a good day ,
Well done, Eleanor! 👏🏻👏🏻Wishing you a good day too! 🌾🙋🏻♀️
Slight pause at tedium but other than that it was an easy solve this morning. Though we didn’t have any formal celebration of the Epiphany in our family, the Christmas decorations did not come down until after January 6th, a tradition I still observe. I have both Russian and Greek Orthodox friends and “Little Christmas” is indeed a big celebration for them. Wishing all of you a good day.
Definitely have to keep the decorations up! 😉..I just wish that today didn’t now hold another significance…and it rightfully so needs to be remembered…but still…🤷🏻♀️ Tonight I’m drinking to peace, and hopefully harmony for our country…Wishing you a Happy Little Christmas, Betty. Salute! 🍷🙋🏻♀️
Oh, yes, Miss Angela, I share your consternation. I finally turned off NPR because I have such painful memories of January 6, 2021. It was an Epiphany for sure. Pace Sulla Terra! 🙏
From your lips to God’s ears, Betty. 🙏🏻…And same here. I turned off the TV. I just couldn’t stand to see or hear anymore.
Good Morning, Everyone… I hope this finds you well…
