  1. Good Morning, Everyone… 🎈 BLOWIN’ SPOKE? 🎈

🎶 You’re so vain…You probably think this song is about you…You’re so vain…you’re so vain..I bet you think this song is about you…Don’t you, don’t you?… 🎶 “You’re So Vain” – Carly Simon 1972 https://tinyurl.com/2p8wntxw

🎈The clown who’s making the balloons, hopes his efforts not FUTILE,
He’s read the GUIDE books telling him that young kids can be brutal…
They speak sans any filters…whatever’s on their minds,
But today he’s got an angle…Talking animals in kind…
They have their banter INTACT…SCOFF at those not in the know…
The balloon man? …He’s made snobs for sure…with INFLATED EGOS! 🎈

Talking balloons…I think it’s just a lot of hot air…

Ok…Today, except for TFLIEU from January of last year, we’re dealing with all old favorites. And none of them BLEW me away…

So, this morning we find ourselves in a park, where a group of children are enjoying the handiwork of a balloon making clown. I’m not a fan of clowns…I don’t really know what it is, but I JEST..ER…don’t like them. They make me very uncomfortable, tense…I’ve even gotten LIGHTHEADED in their company…Anyway…that’s my issue…so I’ll just get on with this, because I might get CARRIED AWAY, and I’d hate to let any of you DOWN…So…We see that two of the creations, animals, can speak. And they’re conceited little things…Thinking they’re ABOVE the other balloons, the rainbows and the flowers. And most likely, if they can speak, they probably can hear too, so listening to the kids’ comments, it’s just RAISING their haughtiness. Bottom line? These two BLOWhards definitely have INFLATED EGOS!

Jeff’s Gems? I think the little girl’s holding a monkey, because it looks like the animal’s holding a balloon banana. It aPEELed to me, but I can’t be sure. But, um…one thing I am sure of? That clock tower?..It’s the same one Jeff’s drawn so many times in the past…But, where is it? I know I’ve POPPED the question before…so I’ll, um, RAISE it again…Maybe this time HELI…UM, let the cat out of the bag?

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Be well, stay safe…and I had a good balloon joke for y’all…but it GOT AWAY from me…🎈🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤷🏻‍♂️ When the GUIDE realized that his attempts to schmooze the INFLATED EGOS of the group into some sort of uniformity was FUTILE, he decided to just keep his feelings INTACT and not SCOFF…🤷🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️ Some people feel it FUTILE to depend upon a GUIDE,
They’d rather take their chances…go along just for the ride…
They tend to SCOFF at someone, who has things all INTACT,
And most times they are lost at sea…but they’d deny the fact
They seem to use the mantra, “We’ll just see how it goes”…
A lot of hot air thrown about…with INFLATED EGOS! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. Good morning ! The words were easy, they came right out ! Now the jumble was rough ! I had to SCOFF at the idea that I needed a GUIDE , to my FUTILE attempt ! I had to cheat to make it INTACT ! The jumble I saw Gift and Lose and that threw me off. I never knew that a balloon had an EGO even when INFLATED. So I sang 🎶 up , up and away , in my beautiful balloon ! 🎶

  4. When Carly Simon’s song “You’re So Vain” came out, the guessing game of who she was singing about began. She has said the second verse is about Warren Beatty but other verses could be, too. Will she ever reveal all? “I would have to want to,” she told ABC News. Scoff if you must, but my inner Guide tells me her secret is Intact and it’s Futile to ask. I do know it made a great ketchup commercial.

    • Hi OO. That very creative Heinz Ketchup commercial featured “Anticipation”, another great song from Carly Simon…And the good money was always on Warren Beatty…😉! Hope your day’s going well…🎈🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning. Not to much trouble with the words but I failed on the cartoon answer. Having no clue I looked for the answer after five minutes. I had a laugh at seeing your song choice Angela. It fits the cartoon perfectly. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Thank you…And hope that you’re staying well and safe too…🎈🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Only a few days into January and our first stump !!! Had the anagrams solved and no solutions appeared. Thought it might be an ING word to no avail. That’s about it, folks. Will wait for what tomorrow brings

  7. The ego…. a favourite topic of mine. Here goes.

Managing your ego shows that you care
Making sure you are always aware
If you think you’re so great
    Then your ego will inflate
But really, you’re just full of hot air!

I may be limerickless for the next few days as I am decamping to Toronto to stay with my son and family to supervise their three children who are going online for school – again!! – for a couple of weeks or so. Ontario has closed in-person schools more than anywhere else in Canada and beyond during covid. The effect on students is overwhelming with many families simply opting out.
Angela, in case I have a minute, would you mind sending the online link to the daily Jumble so that I can at least see the puzzle? Thanks!

    • Things are growing increasingly worse here too. Personally, I’m of the mind to always proceed on the side of caution…instead of throwing it to the wind…so I think we should have kept our schools closed this week and next..if for no other reason than to test the waters after the time off and all the celebrating. Unfortunately, numbers here are out of control again…I do a lot of praying…Here’s the link for the daily puzzle, and I wish you well in Toronto. Stay safe…🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. 🎈The balloon man with his turns and twists,
Creates figures with a flip of wrist…
    And the kids are amused,
    By balloons that he’s fused…
And they hold them in their tiny fists! 🎈

🤷🏻‍♀️ While an ego can get out of hand,
And cause some Folks to think they’re quite grand..
    It’s okay to have pride,
    As life’s journey we ride…
Just as long as one doesn’t grandstand! 🤷🏻‍♀️

🤦🏻‍♀️ My concern about monkey or not,
    Proved correct..glad that I took the shot…
    But that tower still looms,
    It’s location? I’m doomed…
And Jeff’s silence just thickens the plot! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  9. Anagrams were a quick solve, and after seeing egos, the cartoon was a virtual blind solve as well! A good start to 2022, Jumble wise.

  10. A little P-a-S-t-A…Today is NATIONAL SPAGHETTI DAY…It’s also NATIONAL TRIVIA DAY…Which serves well for what I’d like to say…Pasta, to an Italian, is one of the major food groups. Period. But this thing inGRAINed into belief that we eat Spaghetti and meatballs on a Sunday? A myth! It’d make a great TRIVIA question…”What do Italians NOT eat on Sundays”? Yes, we definitely eat Pasta on Sundays, but there’s a ton of other PASTAbilities out there…just not Spaghetti…And if you’re dining at an Italians home on a Sunday, and they serve you Spaghetti? I suggest you leave…PASTA than a speeding bullet! They’re total imPASTAs! Spaghetti’s for a Thursday night…Period. And I just thought I’d PASTA that bit of advice on…I’m just so tired of fake NOO..dles! 🍝🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. No problem with the anagrams but simply could not come up with the cartoon solution. Kept thinking the first word would end in “ing” and couldn’t get past that thought. Did not know it was National Pasta Day so will honor it tonight at dinner. Capellini Pomodoro anyone?

  12. The words unscrambled nicely. The answer was really hard. I first saw ING, but that didn’t work. I next saw dogs. That left fateline. I took a long break to get other things done. Playing with these letters led to INFLATED, but no D for dogs. Ugh. The letters left spelled GOES, but that made no sense. I then finally saw EGOS. Very hard today.

    • Dennis, your approach to the solution was virtually the same as mine. Finally came up with the solution, but only after some real diligence…today was a real butt kicker. Maybe tomorrow will be a little softer.
