Ok…Today, except for TFLIEU from January of last year, we’re dealing with all old favorites. And none of them BLEW me away…
So, this morning we find ourselves in a park, where a group of children are enjoying the handiwork of a balloon making clown. I’m not a fan of clowns…I don’t really know what it is, but I JEST..ER…don’t like them. They make me very uncomfortable, tense…I’ve even gotten LIGHTHEADED in their company…Anyway…that’s my issue…so I’ll just get on with this, because I might get CARRIED AWAY, and I’d hate to let any of you DOWN…So…We see that two of the creations, animals, can speak. And they’re conceited little things…Thinking they’re ABOVE the other balloons, the rainbows and the flowers. And most likely, if they can speak, they probably can hear too, so listening to the kids’ comments, it’s just RAISING their haughtiness. Bottom line? These two BLOWhards definitely have INFLATED EGOS!
Jeff’s Gems? I think the little girl’s holding a monkey, because it looks like the animal’s holding a balloon banana. It aPEELed to me, but I can’t be sure. But, um…one thing I am sure of? That clock tower?..It’s the same one Jeff’s drawn so many times in the past…But, where is it? I know I’ve POPPED the question before…so I’ll, um, RAISE it again…Maybe this time HELI…UM, let the cat out of the bag?

I may be limerickless for the next few days as I am decamping to Toronto to stay with my son and family to supervise their three children who are going online for school – again!! – for a couple of weeks or so. Ontario has closed in-person schools more than anywhere else in Canada and beyond during covid. The effect on students is overwhelming with many families simply opting out.

Things are growing increasingly worse here too. Personally, I’m of the mind to always proceed on the side of caution…instead of throwing it to the wind…so I think we should have kept our schools closed this week and next..if for no other reason than to test the waters after the time off and all the celebrating. But this thing inGRAINed into belief that we eat Spaghetti and meatballs on a Sunday? A myth! It’d make a great TRIVIA question…”What do Italians NOT eat on Sundays”? Yes, we definitely eat Pasta on Sundays, but there’s a ton of other PASTAbilities out there…just not Spaghetti…And if you’re dining at an Italians home on a Sunday, and they serve you Spaghetti? No problem with the anagrams but simply could not come up with the cartoon solution. Kept thinking the first word would end in “ing” and couldn’t get past that thought. Did not know it was National Pasta Day so will honor it tonight at dinner. Capellini Pomodoro anyone?
The words unscrambled nicely. The answer was really hard. I first saw ING, but that didn’t work. I next saw dogs. That left fateline. I took a long break to get other things done. Playing with these letters led to INFLATED, but no D for dogs. Ugh. The letters left spelled GOES, but that made no sense. I then finally saw EGOS. Very hard today.
Dennis, your approach to the solution was virtually the same as mine. Finally came up with the solution, but only after some real diligence…today was a real butt kicker. Maybe tomorrow will be a little softer.
