Good Morning, Everyone…. 🤷🏻♂️CAN HE STAND…THE PAIN? 🤷🏻♂️
🎶 If I could turn BACK time…If I could find a way… I DON’T KNOW WHY I DID THE THINGS I DID…🎶..”If I Could Turn Back Time” – Cher 1989 https://tinyurl.com/2p92b2p3
🤷🏻♂️Let’s hope Pall’s not a SKIER, ‘cause he’s not looking too well,
He’ll need to LOOSEN up that pull…and it might even swell…
Why he thought to PERMIT himself to lift that heavy box,
He’s now facing the pain and strain…and a back full of knots…
He tried to be a YAHOO…the results? His back is breakin’…
And he knows now the end result? He was SORELY MISTAKEN! 🤷🏻♂️
My friends and I, all being trivia buffs, are big on quoting classic movie lines on a regular basis. Till this day, I can’t hear the word “surely” without thinking of the movie “Airplane”…And even though our word today is SORELY, not surely, it still brought me back there… https://tinyurl.com/33je2u37 …”And don’t call me Shirley”!
Today’s tried and true words bring us a split decision with our anagrams, as KEISR and PRETIM are making their Jumble debut. And if I had to take a guess at what word might be a pain in the back, I mean the neck this morning? Hmm…Tough call…and I’d hate to be SORELY MISTAKEN…
Our cartoon today is showing us a man, “PALL”, who’s bent over in pain, because he was MISTAKEN in thinking he could lift that heavy box we see without the help of his dolly…No, not his wife, she’s Shirley…I mean the hand truck…you know the dolly…Anyway, as a result of a classic case of the spirit being willing, but the flesh weak…we see that he’s hurt himself…and now he’s SORE…not to mention SORELY MISTAKEN. (Phrase: DEFINITION: to be completely wrong)…And I can’t help but wonder how the rest of their conversation went…Shirley: “Well now what? How bad is the pain…can you handle it”? Pall: Sighing..”It’s SPINE, it’s SPINE”…But from that annoyed look on Shirley’s face? She’s probably thinking…”Yeah, right…KNOT this again”…
The Gems? The box took a hit, but Pall’s Christmas sweater is a cute touch…There’s a horse-drawn sleigh, some fir trees, and a Snowman…vintage scenes that bring BACK memories…
So… There you have it Folks, Done. Have a great day…Be well, stay safe… and if you don’t find today’s puzzle as easy as I did, well… then I STAND CORRECTED! 🙋🏻♀️

🙇🏻♂️ When the instructor told the SKIER that he’d PERMIT him to just LOOSEN up and go with his instincts, he soon realized he was SORELY MISTAKEN when the guy took off and looked like a YAHOO…🙇🏻♂️
⛷They stood and watched the pro-SKIER, the lodge said they’d PERMIT,
The guests to attend practice…but the cold caused teeth to grit…
She thought to LOOSEN up her scarf, she felt so bundled up,
And when she she went to yell YAHOO, spilled coffee from her cup…
She started to rethink the day, so early she’d awakened…
The thought that this would all be fun? She was SORELY MISTAKEN! ⛷
I’m very pleased with today’s jumble . I got the words easy and I didn’t even need a PERMIT ! When I solved the jumble , I screamed YAHOO ! This one made me LOOSEN up about the previous tough jumbles . All this rain we’re having ! If it turns into that 4-letter word (snow) ! I will not be a SKIER ! Ok the jumble reminded me a lot of when we moved 2 houses and I did a lot of lifting boxes and my wife would say “let me help you “ and I said , while holding my side “no I can get it” but I was SORELY MISTAKEN, but I’ve learned since then ! Everybody have a great day today !!
You too, Jim. 🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. Back on course. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. Had half a blind solve. I was able to get mistaken before looking at the letters for the first word. Loved the song choice. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Paul. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a good one…Be well and stay safe out there..l🙋🏻♀️
Like others, a half-blind solve this morning….We were looking over puzzle cartoon and I posed a question about maybe his back was sore….giving us SORELY and then Marsha’s lightbulb came on with MISTAKEN. Words were a snap…so a nice rainy Saturday morning solve. She liked Cher’s song, too.
Only Marsha liked Cher’s song? Shirley you jest! 😉 Wishing you both a good day! 🙋🏻♀️
My poor back is surely the proof
Lifting boxes is one major goof
Now I’m right out of action
Can’t do even a fraction
Of all the work that is under this roof!
Oh yes, the number of times my husband has done exactly that – jumped into a job he shouldn’t have tried and then astonished and looking for sympathy, because he injured himself.
Definitely a universal scenario! Have a good one, Helen…🙋🏻♀️
🙇🏻♂️ His intentions were in the right place,
But he didn’t pay heed to the pace…
Now he’s feeling the pain,
‘Cause his back he did strain…
And he soon may be wearing a brace! 🙇🏻♂️
🤷🏻♂️ He def thought he could do it alone,
But sadly too soon he was shown….
That not using the dolly,
Just ended in folly…
And now his back muscles he’s blown! 🤷🏻♂️
🤦🏻♀️ From the look we see on Shirley’s face,
First time happening? Not likely the case…
And she sighs once again,
This man learn? Who knows when…
Once again he’s just so far off base! 🤦🏻♀️
Twin visitation day in Dixon, followed by a jaunt to Naperville to see our other little granddaughters,Marla and Alice. But before our journey start , I had a quick solve of the anagrams, after a pause on permit ,then after arriving in Dixon,a blind solve of mistaken, quickly followed by the complete ‘sorely mistaken’ solution.Dixon had an overnight dusting of snow on the grassy surfaces, and parked vehicles, first snow I’ve seen in Illinois.
Ah back pain – the great leveler. The slightest wrong move can bring you to your knees and tears to your eyes. Easy solve of the anagrams and blind solve on the cartoon this morning. Angela, your reference to the movie, “Airplane” made me smile. It’s such a wonderfully funny movie and full of great lines to quote. Happy Saturday to all.
Thanks, Betty. God knows we could all use the laugh…Happy Saturday to you too…✈️🙋🏻♀️
Got it all 100 YR OLE LADY el
Always good to see you here, Eleanor. Have a great day…Be well and stay safe. 🙋🏻♀️
