  1. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🤷🏻‍♂️LEARNING TO PUT UP WITH IT! 🤷🏻‍♂️

🎶It’s a SIGN of the times…🎶 “Sign of the Times” – Petula Clark 1966 https://tinyurl.com/ycxzrecr

🤷🏻‍♂️He’s only an apprentice, so still MINUS needed skill,
    And he doesn’t look so JOYOUS…guess the height’s not such a thrill…
He’s learning to BLEND paper with the paste to make it stick,
But the look on his face seems to say…”I think I may get sick”…
The job’s not for the faint of heart, good balance is a must,
Any OUTAGE with your courage?…Well there’s chance you’ll bite the dust
He needs to get the basics ‘straight’…that paste you can’t just daub…
So there he is…he’s ‘hanging’ on…he got ASSIGNED THE JOB! 🤷🏻‍♂️

🎶…And the beat goes on…🎶…Again today…three more new anagrams, with just NMSIU HANGING around since 2011…A definite SIGN of David’s word prowess. And it was OUTAGE that had 3 of the Early Bird’s lights blinking, I mean eyes blinking…They all saw Goatee. Aside from that, the rest was pie in the SKY…Knowing SIGN had to be in there with Billboard in the question and the visual, and the mention of “the boss” in the dialogue? Well…they PUT UP that solve in no time flat…

Ok…Our cartoon. Today we see our two paper hangers standing on the ledge of a building, putting up a SIGN on a billboard. And the veteran installer seems just as surprised to see the new kid on the block as he is to be there. Obviously caught off guard, our trainee was told to “get out and learn how to do this”…This being hang a SIGN…And I guess he has to PUT UP with it…so he’s reSIGNed himself to it…because he has no choice…He was ASSIGNED THE JOB…

Jeff’s Gems? Under the watchful eyes of a pair of pigeons, we see our newbie trying his best with just his bare hands…and if you look real closely, you’ll see that the bottom right corner of the sheet he’s hanging isn’t sticking…More so, right above the ampersand and the letter “D”, there’s a serious CREASE in the paper…and from the look on the poor guy’s face…I hope he doesn’t FOLD…But the real hidden gem? How did I know it’s a “D”? The sign’s going to read…”Happy Birthday Mac and David”, because tomorrow’s the birthday of David and Mac King, https://tinyurl.com/2p8wk9u2 the comic magician, and a good friend of Jeff and David, who’s appeared in the Jumble many a time. Why we’re seeing this today, instead of tomorrow? …Who knows…I’m left in SUSPENSE!

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and the next time you see a billboard…enjoy the SIGN language…👌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

    AND….WELCOME DECEMBER! 🎄

  2. 🔦 During the OUTAGE caused by the storm, they realized that they were MINUS flashlights, so Mom used a BLEND of candles…but hardly JOYOUS over the situation, she ASSIGNED THE JOB of purchasing them to her oldest son…🔦

🖥 An OUTAGE of the internet…not JOYOUS, that’s for sure,
So used to being online, ‘twas a MINUS and a bore…
Their teacher said, “Let’s BLEND our thoughts, not let this our day rob…
So get creative kids”…And with that she ASSIGNED THE JOB! 🖥

  3. This seems to be developing into a difficult week. Got the anagrams but no luck with the solution. I actually like weeks like this!!

  4. Welcome to the end-of-year month ! Wow , the anagrams were tough except for a BLEND Of easy and tough ones . I was JOYOUS i got two of them , but my brain had an OUTAGE, on that one and I was MINUS a few cells on that one ! When I saw the letters to the solution the word Sign came right out , but the letters that were left didn’t produce anything, so I had to cheat and of course I felt like an ASSIGNED THE JOB , but it all came together, but I thought it was a pretty tough one ! Well everybody have a good “ hump – day “ going into the first week of December !

  5. This was a tough one. I agree with Jim and Mig. I was slowed down by both OUTAGE and JOYOUS, but eventually figured them out. Then I slowed myself down on the cartoon answer. I guessed the last word was JOB, but was “sure” the first word ended in “-ING”. Then I couldn’t make a word with the rest of the letters. Got my spouse to look at the answer and confirm that I was off-base. That got me back on track and then figured out ASSIGNED. Nice to have a hard puzzle today! Welcome to December!

  6. I was thinking this morning about my mom in retirement working the Jumble every day over her coffee. If I was visiting and she got stuck – which was rare – mom would repeat the letters for me to attempt.
I’d often make up some wacky word or stupid spelling only to see her peek over her glasses with a look of bemusement and then sigh. I thought of that today with Minus when I came up with Sumin (I will Sumin you to the office) or Insum (He got himself Insum trouble with the principal).
I’d give a lot to have one of those mornings back.
Petula’s song is a great choice by Angela but so is “Signs” by the Five Man Electrical Band.
    “Sign, sign
    Everywhere a sign
    Blockin’ out the scenery
    Breakin’ my mind
    Do this, don’t do that
    Can’t you read the sign?”

  7. Will have to agree with others about today’s Jumble….Not toughness, per se, but traveling down the wrong rabbit hole, not having an open mind, and for me, having to give up in the end. Like Bradtx, just knew it was going to be an ING word, along with JOB, with letters left over that didn’t make any sense !! Anyway, Anagrams were a breeze but had to look up the puzzle solution. Instead of ING….should have seen the SIGN there. Have a great Wednesday…as we march into December

  8. I hope, at this task, I can shine
And I don’t make a mess of this sign
    Get the sections in order
    With a fine, seamless border
    If I don’t, will I have to re-sign??

      • You too Angela! A lovely bright day here today, great for being outside, the best place to be to put covid in its place. Any limericks today?

    • 🤷🏻‍♂️ While he thought he’d be working a desk,
And not dealing with things arabesque…
The boss said, “Learn the trade,
Or you won’t have it made”…
      So he’s trying… but looking grotesque! 🤷🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️It’s the heights and the stretching you see,
That’s just not what he thought it would be…
      Looking pencils to push,
Where he’d sit on his tush…
He now finds himself copping a plea! 🤷🏻‍♂️

🤷🏻‍♂️Steady hands and no fear of the heights,
Is what’s needed to get this job right…
      It’s the sign or resign,
      And a def ramrod spine…
Getting it straight right now our guy’s plight! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  9. Got the anagrams, but couldn’t come up w the 3 letter word, job, which then stumped me on the first word, assigned as well.In other words a stumped Wednesday.

  10. Good morning. No problem with the words or cartoon cartoon answer. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Kudos! 👏🏻👏🏻 Have a great day and stay well and safe…🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. Good workout this morning. I found Job right away but like others thought the first word might end in “ing” but no dice. Studied the dialogue and a the remaining letters a bit more and came up with assigned. Happy Wednesday and December 1st to all. Opened up the first day of my Advent calendar.

    • Well done, Betty! Kudos! And I started mine too…The days are flying by! Wishing you a Happy Wednesday too Betty!…Enjoy, 📆🙋🏻‍♀️

  12. My comments never showed up! So here goes… Anagrams were easily solved. I failed with the solution as I couldn’t place the letter J. My bad!
However this morning for the first time I had a JOB to do… clearing my deck of the unmentionable &@$#%. Oh well I’m lucky to live in a blessed country… Canada.
    Have a good day
    Christian

    • Hi Christian…Sometimes a comment inadvertently lands in the spam folder, but I checked, and there’s nothing there. But it’s happened to me a few times too… I either don’t hit the send button correctly, or the comment just seems to disappear…Glad you tried again…And you deserve a break after dealing with the…/*$)%! <¥! …Wishing you a good day too, Christian…Take care. 🙋🏻‍♀️
