    🎃 We’ve seen the Headless Horseman many, many times before,
    And Halloween’s the perfect day for seeing him once more…
    This time he’s in a pub drinking and listening to jokes,
    The guy we see FERRET them out…another drinking bloke…
    The setting of course dated, no PAGODA do we see,
    The early 1820’s…when Irving first wrote of he…
    The story “Sleepy Hollow”…all these years has kept AFLOAT
    And today the Horseman’s chortling…from deep down in his throat…
    He can’t control himself and there’s no way he can ADJUST,
    Amusement that he’s feeling…But than Oops…his head goes bust!
    There’s nothing THOUGH to cause a FRIGHT, as he enjoys a quaff…
    It’s just old Abe Van Brunt we see…as he LAUGHED HIS HEAD OFF! 🎃

    The “Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, https://tinyurl.com/326zwfbx a literary classic, along with its story of the Headless Horseman https://tinyurl.com/5au5sejb are definitely Jumble favorites. And today’s puzzle is simply another RUN AWAY success!

    With all old words, and two old anagrams, REFTER, from 2018, and
    GUTOHH from 2019, today’s offerings are pretty CUT and dry…And although an Early Bird or two blinked at FETTER, it didn’t aMOUNT to much…And the solve? The word “HEADless” omitted in our question…the Horseman’s Pumpkin HEAD seen falling OFF? Easy, breezy…This Halloween solve was definitely a TREAT!

    Our cartoon? With a wood fire burning in the background, and a hanging kettle being kept warm, our two drinking buddies are RIDING high on the laughter, as they sit with a candle burning between them. And you gotta love the jokes! PULP Fiction, SQUASH, PUMPKIN Patch, CRACKing me up? All Gems…And Jeff’s whimsy at its best…Which is why Sleepy Hollow’s Horseman…LAUGHED HIS HEAD OFF! …And scared the DICKENS, I mean the IRVING out of that cat!

    So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one…Be well, stay safe, and remember…If you’re celebrating Halloween today, drink responsibly…we’d hate to have you LOSE YOUR HEAD! 🎃🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 💸 Sitting in the PAGODA doing paperwork, he LAUGHED HIS HEAD OFF at the sitcom on TV, but as he continued to FERRET through his bills, he had a bit of a FRIGHT THOUGH, when he realized that he’d need to greatly ADJUST his spending habits if he wanted to stay AFLOAT…💸

    🦫 Knowing that to stay AFLOAT, the sails he must ADJUST,
    HE had a FRIGHT the last time out…so now it was a must…
    Just him and his pet FERRET, relaxing on the sea,
    The PAGODA-looking cage he bought…sat near him…just alee
    He worried ‘bout the wind THOUGH hoping it would soon drop off…
    It howled and the ferret jumped…and he LAUGHED HIS HEAD OFF! 🦫

    Would fill the folks with dread
    So when out late at night
    Ichabod got a fright
    And wished he was home in his bed!

  5. Too many letters and words for me,plus misspelled ferret.
    Typical Sunday for me,plus I failed to equate the Hollow’s famous horseman ,w the headless horseman.Oh well tomorrow will be another day.

  6. Happy Halloween….if there is such a thing !!! A partial Blind Solve. I thought HEAD might be third word…or maybe even HIS HEAD. Marsha immediately chimed in adding LAUGH from cartoon antics….and TA DA !!! Easily solved anagrams confirmed our suspicions and put that scary puzzle to bed. We’ll have our front porch light off tonight. See you all Monday.

  7. I found that it was an easy blind solve. I stumbled on ferret at first, since as a guitarist I immediately saw it as refret, but that arrangement didn’t fit the solution. Ferret came quickly after that. Happy Halloween!

  9. Little late to comment, but I thought I’d drop a whack line for a semi quick solve ! Hope everyone had a great Halloween ! And don’t laugh too hard , keep your head on the right path ! Here’s a musical note ! Take any 3 black piano keys and hit the third one, followed by the first one , then the second , then back to to first key , then the first two black keys-and keep doing that and you just played 🎶 Peter Peter pumpkin eater , had a wife and couldn’t feed her 🎵 do it you’ll love , I taught my 5,8 year old grandchildren !
