  1. Good Morning, Everyone! 🏌🏻 DAVID AND “GO-LIETH” 🏌🏻

🎶 You ain’t never BEEN BLUE… no, no, no,…You ain’t never been blue, till you’ve had that MOOD Indigo…That feelin’ goes stealin’ down to my shoes….While I just sit here and sigh, “Go ‘long blues”…🎶 “Mood Indigo” – Miss Ella Fitzgerald 1957 https://tinyurl.com/yhyj6kpe

🏌🏻You think of the word DUGOUT and baseball comes to mind,
    But here David? A swing and miss…I guess he’s in a bind…
And easily his mood does SWITCH, we see some anger rise,
And I for one? Taken aback…It comes as a surprise…
I think of him in just one way…a smile always present,
Not bogged down as if MOSSY thoughts could cause him to resent…
A swing GOING astray on him, it’s not like he’s a bust,
No, when I think of David, it’s just happiness…I trust…
But here now we are seeing him, upset…of all such things!
    I’m sure it’s just Jeff’s whimsy…giving David these MOOD SWINGS! 🏌🏻

Ok, so maybe I’m PUSHing the envelope a bit. Of COURSE David must get angry at times …I mean he’s not WOOD. Yet somehow I really can’t PICTURE him that way. He always seems so positive and upbeat, with an amazing zest for life…he’s just always so DRIVEn…but I guess we all have those MISSing LINKS within us…Anyway…So, my next cause to pause is his golfing companion. At first I thought it was his Father, but then my old EAGLE eye saw that FRINGE of hair curling up at his neckline, so I knew that was the wrong APPROACH. Then I thought it might be David’s Golf Words https://tinyurl.com/p95y88xj partner, Don Parker…but the glasses? Hmm…Not fitting him to a TEE…And then?…IDK…Could it be the other half of our Dynamic Duo? Is it Jeff? PUTT…wearing that getup? And with that bit of a SLOPE under the golf shirt? No…it can’t be…or could it? Hmm…I’m definitely not DRAWING any conclusions here…but has Jeff whimsied himself? (And is whimsied even a word)? Well, I’m leaning towards SCRATCHing the whole thing…but hey…who knows? I’m just gonna leave it a PUSH…

Ok, enough PUTT-ZING aROUND…Let’s get to our words…Once again, all old favorites…nothing GREEN here. They’ve all been in PLAY before. And although nothing slowed down their GAME this morning, the Early Birds were all SWINGING…I mean singing…the praises of OGDTUU. Is that a great anagram, or what? It’s definitely a winner…

And as for our solve? The “Rats”? The “You’ve had some great shots TOO”? Gotta love that dialogue…Plus the huge hint in the question? “ERRATIC”? Put me right in the MOOD for an automatic solve…Some good, some not…First you’re cool…then you get hot??? MOOD SWINGS! And there we have another Jumble HOLE IN ONE!

Jeff’s Gems? You gotta love the eyebrows on both our characters…such definition! And of COURSE there’s the little divot where David’s SWING went astray, but if you look real closely, you’ll see the Signature Jumble “J” logo encircled in the square on the shirt of his companion…Nice HOOK..

So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…and I’m gonna WAGGLE on out of here…All of a sudden I’m in the MOOD for a FRIED EGG! 🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. …AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES….🙋🏻‍♀️

° The puzzle of June 08th, 2013: “The erratic golfer was experiencing”…MOOD SWINGS…

° And the puzzle of April 08th, 2016: “With so many children trying out the equipment, the new playground had”…MOOD SWINGS…

  3. ⚾️ With all the MOSSY growth around the DUGOUT, the MOOD SWINGS kicked in, as the players wondered if they were GOING to be able to clean it up in time, or have the need to SWITCH to another field…⚾️

⚾️ The uniforms are MOSSY green, but too late now to SWITCH,
They should’ve stuck with the blue ones, but someone got the itch…
To shake things up, and now they sat brooding in the DUGOUT,
And GOING ‘round…the faces? Well they all just seemed to pout
The game’s about to start and sometimes this is what change brings…
Not all that you expected…and it def causes MOOD SWINGS! ⚾️

  4. Fun and easy. The solution was toughest for me but still came fast.
I like when there is a little challenge, especially with the cartoon.

    • I thought it was an easy one too, Mig. And a very clever one…Have a great day…🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Good morning ! What a great SWING to start the weekend , totally put me in the MOOD ! The weather should be great today here in Ohio ! Nice and fun was the jumble, well everyone have a great weekend !!!

    • Good Morning, Jim. Enjoy the weather, and wishing you a great weekend too! 🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

      • I live near a cheese place and I got this text, I couldn’t help but to text it out ! Here goes , 🎶 Sweet dreams are made of cheese 🎵 Who am I to diss A Brie ? 🎶 I cheddar the world and Feta Cheese . 🎵 Everybody’s looking for Stilton 🎼. I had to share this with everyone ! Lol

        • It’s a GOUDA one!!! And I’ve used it in one of my past posts…I’m going to see if I can dig it up…🧀🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Partial blind solve this morning…thought it might be MORE SWINGS (which was a good answer, by the way). Anagrams done speedily to give correct answer. Great song…and let’s give some credit due to the composer, too…Duke Ellington. Angela, didn’t see the little “J” you were talking about on companion shirt….Does David always do that? It reminds me of famous drawings of Al Hirshfeld of NY Times…who always weaved his daughter’s name, NINA, into his drawings.

    • Good Morning, Terry…You’re right, More Swings, indeed, 😂 👏🏻👏🏻. But that word “erratic” was the clincher…And yes, definitely a great song, with a nod to the Illustrious Duke, of COURSE… As for the Jumble Logo? Impossible to see from a newspaper’s print…Take a look here… https://tinyurl.com/fafmt7mp ….enlarge the area, and there it is! But it’s not David who brings the little gems to the table, it’s Jeff. With a STROKE of his pen…Voilá! It’s magic!…He’ll get that little “J” in there come hell or high water! Have a good one, Terry…Be well and stay safe out there…🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Being an avid former golfer, I should have eaten up the cartoon solution, but sad to say, I was stumped. Maybe the early foggy morning along with the Saturday attempt and w/the many letters which tend to do me in.

    • Former? I didn’t know you hung up the spikes…Good Morning, Professor…Sorry to hear you were off your GAME this morning…But there’s always tomorrow…Enjoy your day, Prof. Be well and stay safe…🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Unfortunately, yes,a former golfer, who used to only play golf on days, that ended in a Y.But one thing led to another, and didn’t get out to play this year.Chuck,

  8. After some guessing around, I found SWINGS in the cartoon solution, and so came up with MOOD SWINGS, which is a good solution. But this one is rife with shadow solutions, including some good ones, such as DOOM SWINGS. That golfer, if he is in an erratic mood, could hit the golf ball somewhere where he shouldn’t, such as the clubhouse window. Or maybe hit some gismo (or gizmo) on the course, resulting in DOWN GISMOS. Or maybe the erratic play is due to an uneven turf, so maybe the place needs some MOWS DOINGS. Or maybe there are places with no grass on the course, so mowing would result in SODS MOWING. This kind of play could inspire one to write a song about it, hopefully containing some SONG WISDOM. And so forth. Also I believe that DUGOUT should never appear in a Jumble, for it has an anagram OUTDUG, as in “Both the Alpha and Beta teams started digging for the buried treasure, but Beta OUTDUG Alpha and was able to hit the treasure first.” I am surprised that this is not the first time DUGOUT appeared in a Jumble. In this Jumble it doesn’t make any difference; both words contribute DO to the Jumble solution, but in another Jumble it could.

  9. Hi Everyone – No problem today other than seeing Down before Swing. Loved the answer and masterful drawing, which captured the golfers’ expressions and direction of David’s faulty swing and ball. Also enjoyed your posts, Angela, especially what you had to say about David and your question about the other golfer – “has Jeff whimsied himself?”

    • LOL! Good Morning, Caroline…Thank you. Those eyebrows, huh? Definitely captured the essence! And I think I “whimsied” myself too this morning! God knows we can all use the laugh! Have a great day, Caroline…Be well and stay safe…🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Good morning. Got the words pretty quick but since I’m not a fan of golf I had to use the letters to solve the cartoon answer. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  11. One minute you’re just full of glee
The next, you’re as down as can be
    A drive far and true
    Or one that you rue
In golf there is no guaranTEE!

    • Good Morning, Helen. No guaranTEE, indeed! 👏🏻👏🏻 Have a great day! 🙋🏻‍♀️

🏌🏻David Hoyt, the man who’s known for words,
Feels his game here is one for the birds…
      And his anger we see,
      But I’m sorry…to me?
Angry David? No…that’s just absurd! 🏌🏻

⛳️ When your drive makes a hell of a divot,
And your feet just don’t seem right to pivot…
You can take it in stride,
      Or the “hole” game deride…
Either way you’re still in it to win it! ⛳️

🏌🏻They say golf is a walk in the park,
Unless playing just turns your mood dark…
And a swing and a miss,
More than once steals your bliss…
And you’re left with a game off the mark! 🏌🏻

⛳️ With most golfers it’s off they will go,
And their prowess they’re eager to show…
But if drives go to waste,
      Then comes that bitter taste…
‘Long with the def deflated ego! ⛳️

🏌🏻Jumble players, we know this quite well,
With a puzzle of golf? …You can tell…
The word “course’ you will see…
      But today? No ennui!
And that theory…we’ve managed to quell! 🏌🏻

  12. DOOM not being an adjective the alternative was MOOD however with Jumble!!!
    It could have been either!
    A quick solve.

    • Doom?! LOL! Lord, I hope it wasn’t all that bad! Have a great day, Christian. Be well and stay safe…🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Hey Chuck. I apologize…I’m so distracted today…I’m juggling like crazy…and my balls just aren’t all staying up in the air…I’m trying to play catch up…and it’s just not going as well as planned. But I didn’t mean to brush you off…again, if it seemed so, I apologize…And here you go…Glenn Miller…Gotta love those horns. I can’t listen to this without dancing…I’m no “true Jitterbug”, missed it by a few generations…but I still give it a shot! 😂 Hope you enjoy it…And I hope all is well with you and yours…Take care! 🎶💃🏻

      • Thanks for the music, Angela. That picture looked a lot like Jimmy Stewart, but one can’t go wrong if one is watching or listening to either one of those guys. You do a fantastic job,my dear!! Whom do I contact to see about getting you a raise?

        • You’re very welcome, Chuck. And I think what we have pictured here is a very young Glenn Miller, although there is a resemblance. But IMO, Jimmy Stewart was much more classically handsome. And thank you for your kind words, Sir…you are way too sweet…But this “raise” you speak of? Che cosa? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’d be happy just to be on a payroll! 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it…I’m still listening to it…And here’s to you having a great night, Chuck…🍷🍷Take care…🙋🏻‍♀️

  13. Cute puzzle this morning. No problem with the anagrams. Not being a golfer, I thought the cartoon answer might have some golf terms in it but I was able to figure it out once I saw “ing” -knew swings would be the final word and mood was obvious. My son-in-law is an avid golfer and his mood definitely swings with the outcome of his game. Wishing all of you a good Saturday.

    • Definitely a lot of MOOD SWINGS when it comes to golf! Good, bad…different STROKES for different Folks! Wishing you a good Saturday too, Betty! Be well and stay safe..🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  14. Just posted but don’t think it went through so here goes again. I thought today’s puzzle was clever. I’m not familiar with golf terminology so thought I might not get the cartoon solution but I did see “ing” which brought me to “swings” and then of course “mood”. My son-in-law is an avid golfer and his mood definitely swings with the outcome of his game. He recently got a hole-in-one so we bought him a green jacket to celebrate. Happy Saturday to all!

    • It did, Betty. But it’s always nice to see you twice! 😉 And Kudos to your son-in-law…loving the green jacket gesture! 🏌🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  15. Angela – as a newbie here, it is interesting to see that you have access to the Jumble archives at your fingertips, including prior cartoons. Just curious how you’re able to do that. Is that something you put together over time?

Thanks for organizing this site! It is especially nice when on days when the Jumble is a struggle.

    • Hi Brad…Welcome! I’m not the one who organized the site…that distinction goes to Mike. But as far as the “Archives” go…it’s years of personal research…and trust me, it’s not all at my fingertips. I wish it were…Half the time I’m flying by the seat of my pants! 😂 And I’m glad we can be of help! Have a good one, Brad. Be well and stay safe out there…⛳️🙋🏻‍♀️
