Good Morning, Everyone…. 🏌🏻♀️FASHION FORE-WARD! 🏌🏻♀️
🎶 It makes no difference if it’s sweet or hot…Just give that rhythm everything you’ve got…Don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that SWING…Doo-ah, doo-ah…🎶 “It Don’t Mean a Thing” – Miss Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington (circa 1957) https://tinyurl.com/ksta5hey
🏌🏻♀️We woman like to change things up…especially clothes and shoes,
Caught wearing something out of date?…FIASCO we’d not choose…
Our girl here holds no TITLE, she’s just one within this crew,
And of course she’ll ROTATE outfits, but today, this one’s brand new…
A deep rich color, just like THYME, she’s quite a sight to see..
Especially that this outfit? It def FIT HER TO A TEE! 🏌🏻♀️
“If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.” Deion Sanders…1989….And that, Folks is today’s puzzle in a nutshell…
PUTT first, a little of the usual. SLICED right down the middle, today we have two old SCRAMBLES, and two new. We’ve seen MYHET back in the salad days of 2016, and TOTEAR was aROUND in 2019. And with all four of our words having been in PLAY before, the Early BIRDIES had nothing ROUGH to deal with this morning…And as FORE the solve? No SCRATCHing their heads there…They easily PLAYED RIGHT THROUGH…
As I’m sure many of you die-hard Jumble fans know, the game of Golf is no stranger to these RANKS. We’ve been out here on the links more times than you could WAGGLE a stick at, but what are we gonna do? I mean it’s not like I’m keeping SCORE or anything, but with both David and Jeff being avid fans of the game, I guess it’s just PAR for the COURSE. But beFORE any of you Golf haters have a STROKE, or look at it as an ALBATROSS around your neck, note that today we’ve changed things up a bit…beCOURSE today, it’s all women who have taken to the links. Let’s face it, Folks…it’s the only FAIR WAY…
So, three friends in the midst of a game of golf, one being admired for the new outfit she just picked up at the Pro Shop. And the huge clue to our solve today? “It looks like it was made for you”…The outfFIT…FIT HER TO A TEE! https://tinyurl.com/nuuke5h3 …And that EAGLE has landed!
Jeff’s Gems? All three of our women are wearing gloves on their left hands, so we’re looking at all righties here, since a glove is worn opposite of the dominant hand. And a divot, a piece of sod, can be seen, although the grass is usually not still attached as we see it here… https://tinyurl.com/p6rzvrc7 The larger object to the left, is called a Tee Marker, usually a colored rock or monument, situated in the tee box, a measured distance from the center of the putting green. And our featured girl is using a Driver, with her ball on a somewhat elevated tee, since when using a DRIVER, golfers tee at various heights. And with a higher tee giving a golfer a better chance at hitting the ball, maybe our girl’s still new to the game. But what caught my eye is her shirt. If you look real closely, right where the bottom tip of the left collar ends, it looks like there’s the signature Jumble “J” encircled in a square logo. So I guess we’re on a Jumble Golf Course. What a franchise, huh?
So..There you have it, Folks…Golf 101…Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe.. And I’ll leave you with some sage Golfing advice…There are three ways to improve your golf game: Take lessons, practice constantly… or just start cheating. FOREget about all those “how to” books and videos…BeCOURSE everybody knows…the only sure-fire way to save those strokes? An eraser! 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Fairly hard for me but I got them all with time.
It wasn’t a FIASCO for me but it could have been. I spent some THYME figuring out ROTATE but still wondered who the TITLE character was………….
Still there was the woman in the cartoon who liked her golf outfit. It did fit her to a tee but it was ugly!
Another day, another J.
🌿 She dubbed her party “The THYME of My Life”, which FIT HER TO A T, since she’d averted more than one FIASCO, learning to ROTATE her time between chief TITLE holder of her seasoning company, and her home life…🌿
📔 She made the TITLE of her book…”FIASCO Of My THYME”,
‘Bout kitchen mishaps she incurred along her gourmet climb…
And book signings now in demand, she does her best to ROTATE,
Engagements set for months on end…it’s hard to juggle dates…
She’s thinking of her next book, called “Come Cook Along With Ghee”
The butter-lover she is, made it FIT HER TO A T! 📔
Close to a blind solve today, but unfortunately glommed (can I say that?) on the first word being WAS….which was not. Therefore, thought I had it as WAS FIT TO A TEE. Did the anagrams easily (we’ve seen FIASCO a lot) and saw the error of my way. Angela…there you go again, reaching out into that great American Songbook…..great choice !!!
Glommed? Why not? Although to me it usually means eating up a storm! 😂 But don’t go by me…I’m a die-hard foodie! So…what you’re saying is that you got to the words, and that “R” was sticking out like a sore thumb? 😉 It happens! And as for the music? Thank you. The Great American Songbook is like a Bible to me. I love all kinds of music, but the classics always remain. Enjoy your day, Terry. Be well and stay safe.🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. This time I remembered to look at the cartoon and see if I could get the answer before the words. Happy to say it was a blind solve especially seeing the golf ball on a tee. But and I’m sorry to say but, I had to look up Fiasco. The other three words after a short while came to me but not Fiasco. Oh well, I did get the blind solve. Enjoyed your song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Brooklyn. And Kudos! 👏🏻👏🏻You done good, as we say in the neighborhood! And as FORE Fiasco, it is masterfully jumbled, so you get a pass! Glad you enjoyed the music…Miss Ella had an amazing voice…Wishing you to be well and safe too, Paul. Have a good one. 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Mig…You do have a point. Let’s hope her game is a little stronger than her fashion sense…BeCOURSE to be honest, something about those checkered pants turned me off too. In fact, it reminded me of Ralph Kramden in that old “Honeymooners” episode.. https://tinyurl.com/buhv67fx “The Golfer”. And as far as I’m concerned, Chex only belong in a cereal bowl…😉 But anyway, as LONG as her friends keep STROKE-ing her ego?…who are we to judge, right? 😂 Have a good one, Mig. Enjoy! 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Hi Everyone – Like others, I had a blind solve, which is rare for me. But I got nowhere with Fiasco until I had the answer and backed in. Though I’m not a golfer, I enjoyed all your golf puns, Angela, especially Early BIRDIES.
Good Morning, Caroline. Nice going! 👏🏻👏🏻. And thank you…As a matter of fact, I went back this morning and changed Birds to Birdies…just too hard to resist! 😂 But as for Fiasco, as Terry mentioned, and as I’ve told Paul, even though it’s appeared at least once every year going way back, David still managed to do an exceptional job scrambling it this morning. So IMO, everyone gets a pass! 😉 Have a good day, Caroline. Stay safe…🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Doing the puzzle online allowed me to get the anagrams quickly, even fiasco, but the cartoon stumped me,primarily because I couldn’t discern it was a girl golfer, thus her wasn’t a 3 letter word on my list for the solution.
Now that’s a Fiasco! Not to worry, Professor…There’s always a next one. Hope your day’s going well. Take care. 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
It’s golf season so this jumble does fit to a tee. Wish my golfing was as easy as this jumble.
“Play ball!!!”
Christian
LOL! I think a lot of us wish we could WHIFF through Golf like we whiffed through this puzzle, Christian. Definitely child’s PLAY! Be well, stay safe…and have a great day! 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – The only pause today would have been at FIASCO, but that’s one of those words I just recognize from having seen it so many times before. (Plus, it was in an East Bay Times sports headline today – “BART, fireworks fiasco in the offing weeks ago.”)
Figured the answer would be “{something} HER”, and the layout and the golf theme showed TEE (should that have been in quotes?)
Good wishes to everyone.
I liked the golf references like eagle and albatross Angela, but what made me smile was the reference to “salad days.” Maybe should have used Jim Croce – “If I could put THYME in a bottle.”
“The bookstore’s buggy new software would often unexpectedly ROTATE words using its thesaurus, which caused a FIASCO when Stephen Hawking’s TITLE became ‘A Brief History of THYME’ and got moved to the cooking section.”
LOL! Tks, Steve. And those “salad days”?…I thought…OREGANO’ll just go with it! 😂 And I like where your “M” mind went with your sentence! 😉 Wishing you a great day, Steve. Enjoy! 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
I find golf frustrating especially getting the ball through the windmill
😂😂 Mig…If you can’t enjoy yourself at mini-golf? Best to just let it tee! 😉⛳️🙋🏻♀️
Steve…Sorry…your comment about TEE being in quotes. It crossed my mind too. Especially since the idiom is with just a “T”. And so is the usage of “T-Shirt”. But the solve’s so easy as it is, maybe David just felt he’d try to make it a little ROUGHer for us to figure out. Especially for those who are GREEN when it comes to golf. 🤷🏻♀️
That could very well be. I did look up the idiom to see whether it was “T” or “Tee.”
Yes, I had a link to the “T” in my post. I guess we’re just faced with another one of those SMH moments! 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Fiasco took me the longest to figure out this morning and that’s not the first time fiasco caused a fiasco. Nevertheless, once I got past that one, the rest of the puzzle was easily solved. I’m not a golfer but I did enjoy all your golfing puns Angela. You’re just too clever.
Good Morning, Betty..Thank you! I did try PLAYING a ROUND 😉 with it as best I could…But as far as Fiasco goes? Let’s figure it for a fluke, and just FOREget about it. Familiar or not, it foisted way too much finagling with…so I’m definitely fixing’ to call it a freebie! (And yes, I’m PRACTICING alliteration today. Tomorrow we’ll grapple with “G”)! 😂 Have a great day, Betty. Enjoy! 🏌🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
It would be difficult to shoot anything over PAR as this puzzle followed a very easy COURSE, clever, but nothing MASTERful about it. Had it not been for fiasco it would have been a HOLE-IN-ONE for me so I’m going to claim at least an EAGLE.
