  1. Another hard one for me.
I had no chance with the puzzle solution.
    TYRANT was another tough one.
Maybe I should go play something easier?

        • I beg to differ guys…The graphic itself is a TIKI HUT! 🛖 🙋🏻‍♀️

          • Well, well….kind of a toughie today….but solved puzzle while spelling a word wrong !!!…initially took a quick peek at words and saw the K and I in first anagram. Thus, TIKI something came to mind. Didn’t think fast enough to put HUT with it. Oh, well.

On to anagrams and didn’t figure out MANURE. Instead, spelled out other correct letters for answer…and backed that word in by spelling MARAUD…which was so totally wrong on so many different levels !! Oh well, again.

  2. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🛖 BAMBOO…zling THE TOURISTS? 🛖

🎶 Welcome to our tropical hideaway…you lucky people, you…If we weren’t in the show starting right away, we’d be in the audience too…All the birds sing words and the flowers croon in the TIKI TIKI TIKI TIKI TIKI room…🎶 “The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room” The Mellomen 1963 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dm6RBneOvHw

🛖 I’m big on things dubbed vintage, and get ITCHY with a twitch,
If I’m in shops that cater to what’s old..the what and which…
A place like this…it’s Heaven, I’d just put on my sarong,
And look around for KHAKI shirts, or maybe get a bong…
(I don’t think TYRANT’s fitting, and MANURE took a toll,
    With Polynesian beauty…let’s be honest…it don’t roll)…
The bottom line, forget about what doesn’t make the cut…
Enjoy the shopping come what “lei”…at the “AN-TIKI” HUT! 🛖

I love the word Polynesian. It’s hard to say it without conjuring up images of fragrant hibiscus flowers and mai tais…Of tropical breezes and margaritas…Of sandy white beaches, palm trees…and mango martinis…Of crystal-clear blue waters…and a pineapple-wedged Blue Hawaii…Uh…Ahem…I think I’m drinking in the ambiance just a little too much, aren’t I? Sorry…UKE have to forgive me…

Ok, words. Like today’s theme, they date back too. Especially AIHKK, which I found in the puzzle of April 16th, 2012. But despite the anagram itself being such an oldie, it didn’t stump any of the Early Birds. Instead, it was MANURE that clogged a few memories. I think it’s just a word that most people don’t look to include in their everyday conversations…And I’m thinking of a pile of puns…but this just isn’t the place to dump them…I’m sure you understand. But as for the solve? Let’s just say that these guys are all OLD hands at this…so between the words Polynesian, “dating back” and “purchase” in the question? And our cartoon giving us the ubiquitous TIKI HUT?…Well, it went down as smoothly as a finely AGED scotch…Oh, I did it again, didn’t I?

Our cartoon…Set somewhere in the Pacific, on one of the many beautiful Polynesian Islands, https://tinyurl.com/y3uxrcvm today we see a tourist, at a TIKI HUT, shopping for ANTIKques, and the proprietor of the business…most likely giving her just that…the business! Telling her that the Tiki mug https://tinyurl.com/2v33fs6w she’s holding is 200 years old, and from Fiji? Hmm…But the tourist, obviously intoxicated by her surroundings, (and possibly intoxicated by one of the aforementioned “tropical delights”), seems thrilled with her find. Surrounded by the typical Polynesian souvenirs…masks, a spear, some earthen vessels, and a manned catamaran, it looks like she’s going to spend some money…and let the chips fall where they LEI!…Tourists, huh? You know what they say…the natives catch them coming and going! But the bottom line? The OLD, ANTIQUE items were for sale at the “AN-TIKI” HUT!

…And our picturesque background? A mountain, some palm trees, oarsmen in an outrigger, and of course, no horizon would be complete without Jeff’s Signature Sinking Sailboat. Definitely an Island Paradise!

So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone…Be well, stay safe…and I’ll leave you with a little Antique humor… A man thinks his wife is putting glue on his antique weapons collection…Of course she denies it, but he’s sticking to his guns…Oh, and “Let the buyer beware”…WARE-ever she may be! 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🛖 Once settled on the Island, they were ITCHY to open up a shop called the “AN-TIKI” HUT, selling a line of vintage KHAKI clothing, but everything was on hold, since the TYRANT who owned the building still refused to clean up the MANURE-like substance on the property…🛖

🍹 The thought of the MANURE got him ITCHY, that’s for sure,
And the TYRANT at the stable made him miserable much more…
He ruined a pair of KHAKI pants, and he was stuck here…but
As soon as he’s done he’s off to that new bar…TIKI HUT! 🍹

  4. Terry…you make me smile! Maraud…A search indeed! 😂 But I’d rather your word than Manure…Not the most pleasant of words! The solve? I don’t know if I’d call it a toughie…BORA bit of a thinker…😉🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. 🎈HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY 🎈…The threshold into 80 never looked so good! Cento Anni!! 🍷🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Good morning. Tough as nails today. Had a heck of a time. Not one that throws the bull, I had to look up Manure. After struggling with the other three I couldn’t get the last one. But, I nailed the cartoon answer. After writing down the letters I saw Hut for the three letter word and then the answer for the take on antique. Angela, first time hearing that novelty song. On the risk of being harsh, I didn’t miss much. But that’s what’s great about music 🎶, something for everybody. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Manure…I think I’ve heard it spoken more this morning than I have in my entire life…and it’s REEKING 😉 havoc on me! Good Morning, Brooklyn. And you’re not harsh at all. You know I go with the first thing that pops into mind, and “Tiki Room” is something I sing with the kids…And Kudos on the solve! 👏🏻👏🏻. Wishing you’re staying well and safe too, Paul. Have a great day! 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. A tough Friday puzzle,w manure giving me reason to pause. Then given all the letters, hut was a quick solve, followed by an- tiki w the antique shop hint, and memory of the “Kon Tiki” adventure story.

    • Gotta hand it to the Early Birds…they knew “that word” would be the one to stop people in their tracks! And good going with the solve! Enjoy your day, Professor! 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

    • We were bound to have a stumper schooner or later, El. I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out so well for you. I’m shore you’ll be back on track tomorrow.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! 🙂

      • Good Morning, Eleanor. Not to worry…you’re a great player at this, and one miss doesn’t amount to a hill of beans! Have a great day. Enjoy! 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

    • …And PS…I’ve taken a look at tomorrow’s…And I know you’ll do just fine! 👍🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. I’m with anonymous- really manure?? I had to resort to paper and pencil to figure that one out. Had an easier time of it with the other anagrams and puzzle answer. I’ll have a Banana Daiquiri please. Cheers!! Happy Friday to all!

    • LOL! Right? And I’m determined to not utter the word anymore today!🤮 M’s the word! And I agree…the solve was a lot easier! As for your libation? Any time, Betty. On me…It would be my pleasure. Cheers and Happy Friday to you too, Betty. Enjoy! 🍹🙋🏻‍♀️

    • You’re just in time Betty! The Tonga Room in SF announced it’s opening July 9!
(And the article calls it “one of San Francisco’s most iconic TIKI BARS”)!

  9. Hi all – The words seemed especially tricky today, but I got the first three, then had to spend awhile on the last one. I concentrated on the ‘U’, seeing HUMAN or MATURE, but finally saw it and checked the spelling to be sure. I wonder whether David is messing with those of us who attempt sentences by spreading MANURE among the words and seeing what we can make of it.
I could see that HUT was probably the last word of the answer but I couldn’t make anything out of the remaining letters until I decided to follow Angela’s recurring advice to go back and look at the cartoon. Then the talk about ‘200 years old’ and ‘dating back many years’ showed me that it was a pun on “antique” and gave the answer. Thanks, Angela!

Great cartoon today. I especially liked the usual sinking sailboat, and the outrigger canoe in the water mirroring the antique figure, giving a sense of the age of the continuing culture.

    Good wishes to everyone.

Laughed at your rhyme of “sarong” Angela!
Ah “white beaches, palm trees, mango martinis” — and a “Maui Zaui with Ham” pizza from Round Table, which they describe as “The Original Polynesian Pizza”! 😂

OK, I guess I’m going to have to deal with this. 😱 I’m glad it’s probably past lunchtime for most of you:
“The only way his mistreated subjects could get back at the TYRANT was to slip some dried MANURE into his KHAKI shorts, making him wonder why he was ITCHY before the worse effects peaked just as he was about to go on live TV.”

    • Sarong-Bong? Thanks…But just for the rhyme, Steve…just for the rhyme! 😉And you’re very welcome…but it’s the truth…the clues are ALWAYS there! Especially the tourist asking right out if it was OLD…And I hate to say this…but here’s WARE we may have to part ways, good friend of mine. Polynesian Pizza? Bite your tongue! Perish the thought! My ancestors are turning over in their gravies…I mean graves! 😉 …And the sentence? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ll give you an A for effort, (because I am very fond of you)…but the content? Yikes! Perish the thought-Part II…I think I may be more nauseous now than I was this morning! Between the pizza and this? Lunchtime? There goes dinner! 😂 Have a good one, Steve…See you on the FLIP side! 😉🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Hey, you have to blame David for the sentence; I can only work with the words he gives!😂
And of course I knew the pizza would strike a nerve. We won’t even discuss what passes for bagels here! 🥯 (Have you seen the TV ad where what looks like a hot dog cart is actually selling “wet teddy bears”? 😱)

        • No, no, no. No blaming this on David. I had to work with what was given too…and I didn’t get half as graphic! 😂 (Altho Millard’s giving you a run for your money)! 🤮..But this one’s all on you! 😂 And I had a feeling you were breaking my shoes with the pizza, and yet I still fell for it! Some things just can’t be helped! 😂 Bagels? Yes, I’ve heard…poor guys. You need some of this NY WADA…that’s the secret! And yes again, I’ve seen the Geico commercial…And I still SMH at that too! Creative though…(I guess)! …Thanks for the laughs, Steve. 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Up Friday simple solved. From the Eastern Sierra in triple digits again today. It was a fun fall and listening to all of the talk about the last word of the jumper. Just think of it as used food. Everyone have a wonderful day.

    • Millard! Used food?! ..My God…it’s getting worse! 😂😂 Have a good one, Millard, and please stay safe with that heat. My heart goes out to you all. 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

  11. I had no problem with MANURE. The other jumbles took some effort, though-the opposite of everyone else. For the answer, I immediately saw HUT, which gave TIKI, leaving AN.

    • Hi Dennis. Kudos on the solve! …👏🏻👏🏻. Hope your day’s going well! 🛖🙋🏻‍♀️

  12. Challenging but doable without too much trouble. Makes me long to get back to travelling but we’re still on hold here in Canada. We can only look across the Niagara River and wonder what lies beyond…….

    • Hi Helen. Yes, but the challenging ones are always so rewarding, right?…And hopefully your wanderlust will soon be satisfied. Things are beginning to get better. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻Thanks for commenting, Helen…and wishing you a wonderful night.🛖🙋🏻‍♀️
