    🔠 I guess it’d be UTOPIA, if we all got along,
    But somehow things get SMOGGY, and we see a lot go wrong…
    If only we’d ENTICE ourselves to strive hard to be kind,
    And not allow the FUNGUS-like ugliness to entwine…
    These symbols here we have today?…ABSORB kindness, what they should,
    And TIMELY it would be too, since right now things aren’t good…
    The animosity takes hold, and definitely encumbers…
    United we’d be better off…since there’s SAFETY IN NUMBERS! 🔢

    These whimsical puzzles where David gives us legit phrasing to go with his creative thinking, and Jeff brings numbers and letters to life, are always fun. And I needn’t SPELL it out for you…today is no exception.

    While all our words have been here, done that, we do seem to be working with a fresh batch of anagrams. And the solve was pretty obvious, with our question giving up the word “Security”, and surprisingly the word “Numerals”, and the dialogue tipping its hand with…”We’ll be fine if we stick together”. But TWO Early Birds did blink at UTOPIA…(I heard Output), and another ONE at Entice..(where I heard Incite). And the funny thing about Incite is that if you weren’t paying close enough attention, and kind of disCOUNTed the letters, it wouldn’t have caused any harm..since the N and E needed for the solve were still intact. Rarely happens that way, but since we are dealing with LETTERS today, I did find it to be a tad ironic. Anyway…their “I’s” did ZERO in on their error, and we called it a wrap…

    So, the “Easy as A,B,C…1,2,3 Convention”. How SPELLbinding, (since as you can see, it is all letters that we’re dealing with). The catch? That L I X M C V have segued their Alpha personalities into Roman “Numbers”…Albeit much to the annoyance of the A B Z and P…Finding themselves embroiled in a bit of an Alpha-Numeric standoff, the barbs are flying. But we’re being told never fear…that Security wasn’t an issue for the Roman Numerals, since there’s…SAFETY IN NUMBERS! https://tinyurl.com/2kxucufj Well, COUNT me in…it’s a cute one!

    Jeff’s Gems….I paused for a SECOND at the difference in the title of the convention in the banner and the title given in our question, but maybe it’s just me. Anyway, as the old saying goes…”When in ROME…” etc, so I’ll DO just that, and COUNTinue… You gotta love Jeff’s drawing of our characters, and the dialogue is too funny for WORDS! If I had to pick my favorite line? It has to be, “Go Alphabetize yourself”, spoken by the L, putting his FIFTY cents in. I was like…”What the L”? Too funny. And my favorite expression? A toss-up, there are THREE… Between the P at top, rolling his eyes, the Z next to him, giving a thumbs down and sticking his tongue out, and the C down below, arrogantly aCting like a maCho man, and angrily saying “We’ve got this”…it was hard to choose. But, you gotta HAND it to Jeff giving the C that raised closed FIST…On SECOND thought…maybe he is the one I’ll go with 100%…

    These kids out of their SMOGGY, listless ways…it was a vice…
    Not looking for UTOPIA, but he could use a break,
    Their ennui…like FUNGUS…soon he fears that it’ll take…
    Control over the whole class, ABSORB them into slumber,
    It’s not what he envisioned…thinking ‘bout SAFETY IN NUMBERS! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. This was a VFJ for me!
    I got the anagrams quickly except for UTOPIA which was not utopian for me.
    The heat is on in the southland. Spent the day with my son and his family watching their big dogs swim in the pool.

  6. Easy cartoon solve…. with anagrams solved and thinking NUMBERS might be one of the words. Have seen UTOPIA many times before, but letters mixed nicely for the mere mortals out in Jumbleland… so that word made me pause a bit. A good end to the week.

  7. Like others before, I sped through five of the six anagrams and the solve. Needed the solve to go back and get Utopia. Good start to my work week. I will Absorb this small victory which will Entice me to a Timely return Monday to the Jumble provided my brain Fungus doesn’t become too Smoggy and leave me daffy. Because there’s Safety In Numbers, I am always cheered by fellow Jumble enthusiasts on this adventure. Also enjoying the Olympic Swim Trials going on here in O Town and the College World Series starting next here week.

  8. Good morning. It wasn’t as easy as 123 for me today. I was stuck on Utopia and had to look it up. I believe I also failed last time on that word. I might have put down Fungus as hardest word but I got that pretty quick. No blind solve on the cartoon but once I had the letters down and presumed ( we know why we presume and not assume) the last word was Numbers, the rest was easy as 123. You picked the right song for this jumble Angela. You and Mike make the start of our day very pleasant. Thank you for that. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

  9. Count me in with those who solved the puzzle easily this morning. I loved the dialogue: “You know you’re actually numbers don’t you?” And “Go alphabetize yourself!” I especially enjoy the puzzles with numbers in them. Hope all of you have a good Sunday!

  10. Hi all – I got all the words quickly only because I’ve *finally* seen UTOPIA enough to recognize it. Then the answer came quickly because I’ve seen the Warriors’ slogan “Strength in Numbers” so often around here, which made the adjustment to the actual letter layout obvious.

    C’mon letter “A”, “Traitors”? Don’t demonize those others just because they’re not your TYPE. They’re just letters who sometimes identify as numbers, and there’s nothing wrong with that! (Maybe he’s just feeling threatened due to his position as Alpha Male.)

    You made me laugh with “disCOUNTed” and SPELLbinding, Angela.
