  1. After a shaky week today was an easy J. My elapsed time solving it was short. I get more satisfaction solving harder Js but what the hey!
We are entering a heat wave here in SoCal so fire season won’t be far behind. Hope you all have fire proofed your homes as appropriate!
    Enjoy the weekend…………………………………………………

  2. Good Morning, Everyone…. 🦗 RISKY BUSINESS 🦗

🎶 The farmer said to the boll weevil…”I see you’re on the square”…Boll weevil said to the farmer…”Say yep! My whole darn family’s here”…🎶 “Boll Weevil” – Brook Benton 1961 https://tinyurl.com/396skpfp

🦗 You know the age old ADAGE…Easy come (and) easy go,
A TINGE of it applies here..for those people in the know…
The male and female GENDER of Cicadas raise their heads,
Out of the ground, and solely for the purpose to be bred
Sorry, I’m gonna say it, with a SMOKER I’d them purge…
They’re ugly and they’re noisy…and this year they have EMERGED! 🦗

I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard about the President’s press plane being grounded by a chorus of Cicadas the other day…And to paraphrase a line from The Godfather III, “Just when you thought you were out…they pull you back in”…Ladies and gentlemen…a new business…I present CICADA, INC!

On the other hand, when it comes to our words today, it’s all old business…and the scrambling of GDEAA follows suit. Our other three anagrams seem to have taken new WINGS, and all the Early Birds EMERGED victorious working with them. So, next business at hand…our cartoon…

This morning we see the merging of the Cicely and Granada businesses. What they were, and what they’ve become is OVER MY HEAD, but apparently it looks good on paper. And as this new business EMERGED, the combination of the letters of the former names produced…CIC and ADA…Cicada…And you thought Bennifer was bad? And as for the new low-go? There are no words…

Jeff’s Gems? There are two signatures on the contract, but except for what may be “Cicely”, I can’t make out the rest. But the chuckle today is the statement being made by the man…”Our new company will have everyone BUZZING”… https://tinyurl.com/mxy7djb4 To those who know? Again…there are no words!

So, There you have it Folks, DRONE…I mean Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…And since I can’t SHED my inhibitions when it comes to bugs…I’m just going to go BURY my head in the sand…🦗🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🙆🏻‍♀️ There was TINGE of jealousy when they were separated by GENDER in keeping with the age old ADAGE about birds of a feather, but the SMOKER was still a success…especially when the women EMERGED victorious…🙆🏻‍♀️

🍖Deciding on a SMOKER, the best meat is what they sought,
And GENDER then came into play…when it had to be bought…
Who’d be the better shoppers? The meat must be free of TINGE,
The women felt left up to men? Let’s say some of them cringed…
An ADAGE here and there was thrown, and then some tempers surged…
They took a vote, and one of each…the shoppers that EMERGED! 🍖

  4. Mike was right, after my granddaughter,Emily, got me connected to the Internet late last night, yesterday’s Jumble, and even today’s was a quick solve.Today’s anagrams were a snap,w so few letters, and a 1 word cartoon puzzle, that was also a snap.Another busy day today, seeing some of the sights in my home stomping grounds of Cleveland,Ohio.

    • Good morning, Chuck. Looking at the voting results, the order of difficulty for this week is Wednesday (CRE-EIGHT-ED), Monday (BIG-KINI), Tuesday (IMPOSING) and Thursday (MEMORABLE). It’s too early to say how today’s will pan out, but as of right now it looks to be on track for last place (W/M/TU/TH/F).

Thanks for taking the time to let us know how your solve went. Your Emily is one smart cookie. Safe travels! 🙂

  5. Good morning. It couldn’t have been easier today unless they gave us the answers to. It wasn’t a blind solve but once I saw the letters the answer appeared. I agree with Mig that it’s much more enjoyable when it’s a little harder than today’s. The secret is finding that happy medium. Enjoyed you song choice Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Tk you. And as for easy, I think you’ll find tomorrow’s even easier! Wishing you stay well and safe too, Paul. Enjoy your day! 🦗🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Pretty easy solve today…. though I didn’t get puzzle answer until anagrams unscrambled. Knew it had something to do with larva and such, but didn’t get any connection right away.
My girlfriend, again… clicked on EMERGED straight out of the cocoon. No problems with anagrams.

    • Hi Terry. I think the larva angle was just to shake things up a little, with the 17 yr thing going on. It is funny, but after we just had termites and roaches last week? I definitely could have passed! 😂 But as always, it’s a clever solution…🦗🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Didn’t feel like solving the jumbles. I had instantly guessed the answer and had no patience for the words. Sometimes short cuts are the best although you often miss the best.
    Enjoy
    Christian

    • LOL! I hear you, Christian. It was an extremely easy solve…Hoping you enjoy your day too! Stay well…🦗🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. ***FYI*** Great News! 9. Another buggy puzzle this morning, though it was an easy solve. Those cicadas really give me the creeps. While we have droughts and fires here, we don’t have cicadas thankfully. I saw a reporter on CNN actually eating a chocolate covered cicada. I love chocolate but can’t imagine eating chocolate covered bugs. Happy Friday to all.

    • Buggy, indeed! Good Morning, Betty…They make me think of the Bible and the locusts…almost makes me go to Confession…almost! 😉 And I’m with you… I’d definitely give up the chocolate if it ever came to that! Wishing you a Happy Friday too, Betty. Enjoy! 🍫🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Hi all – TINGE just took an extra second, but the rest was easy.

I cringed for you when I saw the subject Angela, but thanks for hanging in there. I enjoyed the term “lo-go” for the new company, since that’s what the new cicadas will soon be doing. If the cartoon was late-60’s early-70’s, I’d guess that the companies were traditional AM stations that were going to merge and create FM Underground radio.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“There should be a new ADAGE to warn that any substance thrown into the SMOKER to TINGE the smoke pink or blue at a GENDER-reveal barbecue should be non-toxic.”

    • Underground radio! 👏🏻👏🏻 Yep…I cringed too…It definitely put a damper on breakfast, that’s for sure! 🤮But note that I went with “low-go”…as in how low can we go? 😂 I mean what’s next? Those locusts I mentioned? Perish the thought! Bring back the barnyard animals! 😂 And nice touch with the Gender reveals…(another thing that’s being run INTO THE GROUND)! Have a good one, Steve. Enjoy! 🦗🙋🏻‍♀️
