Good Morning, Everyone 🎣 From BASSinet…To Fishing Net…🎣
🎶 She’s already pretty, like her Mama is…Gonna drive the boys all crazy…Give her daddy fits…And I better do this every chance I get…’Cause time is tickin’…Yeah aw, she thinks we’re just FISHIN’…🎶 “Just Fishin’ “ – Trace Adkins 2011 https://tinyurl.com/2jjvccde
🎣 In their tiny little fishing boat, where WIDTH isn’t that much,
We see a Father-daughter bond that shows a loving touch…
Ones’ heart could melt like PUTTY…and it’s pulling on its strings,
‘Cause nothing here could HINDER the bond we see fishing brings…
The Father’s not UNWISE here, giving up his rod and reel,
And as he sees her master it…shared happiness they feel
He’s proud of her, she’s hooked a fish, together there they sit…
And we’re privy to see both ways that she’d WIND UP WITH IT! 🎣
Once again today, we’ve another split decision with our words. While we’ve HOOKED UP with all of them before, it’s TYUPT https://tinyurl.com/2bb62b6p and NIRHED https://tinyurl.com/veusm8vs that were CAUGHT in the past, while our other TUNA drifting by for the first time. And none of the Early Birds FLOUNDERed this morning …it was smooth sailing from start to FINish…
So, today’s cartoon, PLAICEs us out on the water, where we see a Father and daughter bonding over a Rod and Reel. Having passed his prized possession down to his daughter, our Dad watches as she WINDs that reel and brings UP a catch. And we have a solve whose entendre definitely doubles our pleasure…He gave her the rod and reel so that she’d WIND UP WITH IT – literally! https://tinyurl.com/2hhy67u3 And it’s hers now to KELP…I mean keep…COD this be any more clever, Folks? David just KRILLs me with his wit!
Jeff’s Gems? The matching vintage fishing caps are a nice touch, and the rippling water from where the hooked fish emerges is an eye CATCHer…But I’m going with the look of shock and fear showing on the face of little fish watching it all play out. I can just imagine him saying,..”Holy CARP…Is she aBAIT to get me too? I’m deFINitely CAUGHT between a rock and a hard PLAICE now”! …
So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…And I’m ofFISHally out of here…🎣🙋🏻♀️

It was unwise for her to hinder me as I tried to putty the width of the poorly laid tiles. I like the putty spreader and mysteriously did wind up with it.
Dodgers in one of their worst slumps in years. They can’t hit and can’t field.
At least David & Jeff never seem to have slumps, good for them–and US!
The mother told her daughter that it was UNWISE to play WIDTH PUTTY on the new carpet, but she already had it HINDER hands.
Well done Mike!
Hmm…Are you guys fishing for compliments? 😂🎣
I am reeling him in, Reely……
LOL! But I’m sure you can do BETTA than that! 😉🎣🙋🏻♀️
🤷🏻♂️ Needing to PUTTY the entire WIDTH of the cabinet, he thought it UNWISE that he’d been given the task, since so far he’d done nothing but HINDER the progress of the job…so he wondered why they’d chosen him to WIND UP WITH IT…🤷🏻♂️
🙇🏻♂️ When he was just a little kid, he loved his Silly PUTTY,
Imaginations ran amok, as he played with his buddy…
And nothing then would HINDER him, he’d stretch it WIDTH by length
The hours passed with games he’d play, always one to present…
But one day a decision made that proved to be UNWISE
Had both of them seen melting it…to cut it down to size…
And when a mess he’d made of things, his Mother’s teeth did grit…
A major cleanup was on tap…and he’d WIND UP WITH IT! 🙇🏻♂️
Right off the bat, we knew it was XXXX UP WITH IT…just didn’t know that first word. Easy anagram solve, which led to final solution. As others said, along with this, a pretty easy week of it.
Good solve, Terry…and yes, it has been 🎣🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. I reeled this in, in decent time. Loved your song choice and video. First time hearing it. One of my fondest memories is when my youngest one reeled one in and when he got it close dropped the pole and ran. I don’t think he was older than 6. We have a picture with him by the pond at the camp ground. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Good Morning, Brooklyn. And thank you. Loved your story too! Here’s to you staying well and safe also! 🎣🙋🏻♀️
Hi Everybody – Sweet find for a song and video. This one took a little work. I looked for two letter words and then spotted With, leaving Wind to unscramble.
My husband caught a big one deep sea fishing at age 6 that pulled him right out of his seat.
Hi Caroline. Yes, it’s a great song, from an even greater album, “Proud To Be Here”. I fell for it from the moment I first heard it..and it fits perfectly. (Plus I’m a sap for those Father-daughter things)! Like your fish story…I think today’s puzzle’s going to stir up a lot of memories. Have a good one, Caroline! 🎣🙋🏻♀️
Quickly caught this one today! Happy Mother’s Day, to those who are mom’s, tomorrow! 💐
Quick catch, indeed! 😉 Enjoy your day, Kimberly! 🎣🙋🏻♀️
As I’ve said before,I’m not a fisherman,so today’s Jumble was foreign to me.But the anagrams still were a quick solve, then with it was a quick solve for the final 2 words of the cartoon, but the first 2 words, wind up came slowly,as I thought the second word was in rather than up.I also join in and wish all Moms a Happy Mother’s Day!
Enjoy your day, Prof! 🎣🙋🏻♀️
Caught my limit this week. Anagrams and cartoon answer were an easy catch this morning. Beautiful sunny day here today. Hope all of you have a good day.
CARPe diem,Betty! 😉 Hoping yours is a good one, too! 🎣🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – Pretty straightforward puzzle today. No problem with the words, and I figured the answer would end with “with it”, but I had to look at the letters to see the rest and the pun.
Thanks for two things, Angela – the vocabulary lesson with PLAICE (never heard that one), and a Silly Putty memory. Looking at the color Jumble on the Chronicle’s comic page brought back pressing the putty onto the page and peeling it off to see the copy it produced.
Good wishes to everyone.
“He knew it would be UNWISE to simply cover the crack in his wall with PUTTY, because it wouldn’t really HINDER its WIDTH from growing, like a proper repair would.”
YW, Steve. Now I know why you didn’t get a chuckle the other day with the conversation re:the ABCD jingle! 😉…And good wishes to you too! Enjoy! 🎣🙋🏻♀️
