Good Morning, Everyone. 🐎 HAY! QUIT HORSING AROUND! 🐎
🎶 So just don’t stand in my way…I’m going rockin’ till the sun goes down…Don’t CRAMP my style..you’re drivin’ me wild…don’t CRAMP my style…and let me rock a while…So just stop wastin’ your time…you’re never gonna change my way…🎶 “Don’t Cramp My Style” – Wild Bob Burgos and His House Rockers 2000 https://tinyurl.com/jpbj26k6
🐎 So Trigger’s leg’s bent HIGHER, while old Harry’s using guile,
And it seems Trigger can’t quite grip what it is has cramped his style…
It’s not that it’s a SNOWY day, where maybe cold set in,
The reason too seems to ELUDE our Harry, as he grins
Trigger won’t CAVORT for a time…that cramp you’d hate to force…
Our stallion’s got himself a case of classic CHARLEY HORSE! 🐎
So…With today being the 147th “Run for the Roses”, https://tinyurl.com/d53sv2td , and “Hot Rod Charlie” coincidentally being a bettor’s choice, our puzzle this morning proves very apropos. But before the NEIGH sayers weigh in on the solve, I have to go on record to state that this one made me laugh out loud! Don’t get me wrong…it’s not that most of these puzzles don’t amuse me, it’s just that this one definitely tickled my funny BONE! The horse had a CHARLEY HORSE! ROTFL! You gotta’ hand to David…he does REIN supreme!
Ok, let me SADDLE down…Today, once again, we’ve no new words to run with, but we do have a split decision with our anagrams. DUEEL, and GRIEHH have both been put through their PACES before, and I’ll note here that there was nothing to ELUDE the Early Birds this morning. They all RAN WIRE TO WIRE…and not even the solve CRAMPed their style…So needless to say, they’re all up on their high HORSEs right about now…
…And without any further STALLing around…our cartoon. Louisville, Kentucky. And we find Trigger, the MANE attraction, with a long face. I mean he’s totally SADDLEd with doubt! He has a CHARLEY HORSE? https://tinyurl.com/fawrty3p …Silly name, indeed! And he’s thinking…”What the HAY. A what? I don’t get it! Was I BARN with it, or did it just suddenly CROP up? And is there a chance it can STIRRUP again in the future”? Oh man, he laments…🎶”Don’t fence me in…” 🎶…Poor Trigger…So much doubt…And our groomer, Harry Trotter, not one to split hairs, has to admit that he’s just as lost. But you know me, Folks. I’m always CHOMPING AT THE BIT for a challenge. So I figured I’d use some HORSE sense, and HOOFed it over to Google, trying to WHIP up some information for them…And let me tell you, it was almost a nightMARE! There’s a lot of conflicting data out there, and I found myself going from one a-FILLY-ated story to another…But before I ran a FOAL, and found myself in a COLT-following of sorts, I PULLED UP at this… https://tinyurl.com/49d65r3z And of COURSE, if you feel the need to dig deeper, that’s up to you. We all have free REIN around here…
As for Jeff’s Gems? Harry’s cap displays the iconic Twin Spires of Churchill Downs, and a sole horse can be seen racing by. But here’s the RUB. No, literally..here’s the rub…If you look real closely, you can see Harry trying to RUB out Trigger’s cramp. Yep, Jeff’s proven once again that he’s no one-trick PONY around here…He’s definitely got the MUSCLE!
So, There you have it Folks, Done! …Have a good one. Be well, stay safe…And if you’re thinking that our solve today is more than a BIT of a STRETCH? Well, then take it up with David. But let’s be honest here Folks…I’m pretty sure he’s financially STABLE enough at this point to just smile…and take it all in STRIDE! 🐎🙋🏻♀️
🎶 And it’s RUN FOR THE ROSES as fast as you can..Your fate is delivered, your moment’s at hand…It’s the chance of a lifetime in a lifetime of chance ..And it’s high time you joined in the dance… 🎶 “Run For the Roses” – Dan Folgerberg 1981 https://tinyurl.com/r3w6vesk 🐎🙋🏻♀️
🗻 Why they’d choose to CAVORT about on that HIGHER SNOWY hill would always ELUDE him, especially after almost every one of them suffered a CHARLEY HORSE last time…🗻
🙇🏻♂️ The night was dark and SNOWY, there was nothing to ELUDE,
The temp would not go HIGHER…and it all caused him to brood
He thought that he’d CAVORT tonight…but everything’s off course…
‘Cause besides the lousy weather, now he’s got a CHARLEY HORSE!
Words easy to solve this morning….Initially didn’t think of puzzle answer until I started unscrambling words, then came like a flash. A good puzzle day
Good Morning, Terry. Definitely a good puzzle…It’s so clever! And Kudos on the solve! 🐴🙋🏻♀️
Good morning. No problem with the words but failed again on the cartoon answer. I looked the scrambled words up and got Hoarser Chyle. Both are legit words and all letters fit. I do love the boys real answer which I should have gotten. My original thought was Growing Pains. Now that would have been a good alternate. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.
Hoarser Chyle? Yikes! 😉 Good Morning…and hoping you stay well and safe too, Paul. 🐴🙋🏻♀️
Cavort was looking like covart at first, but after sorting that out,and seeing horse as the second word, even the first word popped into view,”Charley”.
FYI Being a ” Charles” I am on occasion called Charley, but prefer Chuck,or even Chas,or Chasie, which my mother called me,on occasion. But please ,not “Charley.”
Not anonymous,but Chuckl
Not to worry, Prof. I knew it was you! 😉🙋🏻♀️
Good Morning, Professor. I hear ya. I cringe if someone calls me Angie. And you’re right. If the phrase itself didn’t jump right at you, once Horse was taken out of the mix, Charley wasn’t running far behind! 😉🐎🙋🏻♀️
Words came easy but I had to google ‘horses leg cramp’ to find the solution… Angela must use the Charley Girl song for this J……
Good Morning, Mig. Are you thinking Lou Reed’s “Charley’s Girl”? Au contraire! The horse is a Stallion…and Stallions are males. MAREly stating a fact! 😉🙋🏻♀️
being a pilot, it took a while to move from VORTAC to cavort
Baz..Good Afternoon. You definitely piqued my interest…So I Googled the word Vortac. And I must admit, I don’t think I’d ever heard it before. But, David’s let it be known that he only uses words that are listed in the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Soooo 🤷🏻♀️ As interesting as it is, I’m afraid it just can’t fly here! 😉 But, thank you for commenting…You’ve definitely made my day a little more enjoyable! 🐎🙋🏻♀️ https://tinyurl.com/2f3yce2k
No horsing around this morning. Made it to the gate in record time. Thanks for the.information about Charley 🐴 Angela. I don’t know why I never looked up that information before. Learn something new every day. Have a good one fellow Jumblers!
Good Morning, Betty. You’re very welcome! And I’m with you on learning something new every day! I’ve added Vortac to my vocabulary! Who knew? 😉 Gotta’ love this!…And wishing you a good one too, Betty! 🐴🙋🏻♀️
I too had never heard of vortac, but then you already know that I pretty much keep my feet planted on terra firma.
👏🏻👏🏻Touché! And I’m right there with you! 🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – I got the first three words and the answer right away, but CAVORT took a really long time. (I tried CRAVOT, but that was a misspelled CRAVAT.) I just happened to see it as I was about to try backing into it.
The first things I saw in the cartoon were ‘silly name’ and the groom bending down, and thought he’d have to HAND it to him for calling out the unusual unit of horses’ height.
I had to laugh at both the voting box and Angela’s puns, because today I used BIT, REIN and SADDLE in the comment section of a comic I follow (that was about a horse but not the Kentucky Derby.) (All good puns Angela, but the one that made me laugh was COLT-following.)
Good wishes to everyone.
“The SNOWY owl flew HIGHER to ELUDE the ground predators and CAVORT happily in peace.”
This blog is proving to have a COLT-following! 😂 Thanks, Steve..and glad you enjoyed it all…And as always, good wishes to you too! 🐎🙋🏻♀️
I figure “Hot Rod Charlie” must have been sired by “Champagne Charlie” because Leon Redbone’s voice always did sound a little horse.
I do see that the East Bay Times says the favorite is “Essential Quality”, and that there’s a horse named “Brooklyn Strong”! How can you pass that up? 😂 🐴
Champagne Charlie! LOL! And he does mention Louisville in the song, besides! And yes, definitely a fine field of horses today…But I sooo miss the Derby parties we always threw. 😢 Hopefully next year…🤷🏻♀️🐎
…And speaking of this blog…A horse walks into the NEIGHborhood bar…The bartender, recognizing him, says, “HAY”! The horse replies excitedly, “You’ve read my mind!”…It’s always so nice to be welcomed into the FOAL…😉🐴🙋🏻♀️
A beautiful day in Reno today. Hi to all. The puzzle was an easy solve before we even proceeded with the Anagrammes. But I did hesitate on the board. Being an airplane not I chose for Tec which is a radio guidance bacon. Everyone have a nice day.
