  1. This was deceptively harder than it seemed initially….
3 of 4 anagrams had double letters which made them more attainable for me.
Solution evaded me for quite a while.
After a lot of Jumbling I was able to get that too.

  2. Good Morning, Everyone… 🏔 TOUR, FIVE, SIX THOUSAND FEET DOWN…🏔

🎶 I’m so DIZZY, my head is spinnin’…Like a whirlpool, it never ends…And it’s you, girl, makin’ it spin. You’re makin’ me DIZZY…🎶 “Dizzy” – Tommy Roe 1969 https://tinyurl.com/4y5dmnj9

🏔 The Grand Canyon is beautiful, majestic comes to mind,
But up there with that great unknown? Uh… me you’ll never find…
I’d rather JUGGLE porcupines then stand near any ledge…
And DITTO bailing from a plane…there’s no bets there to hedge…
I live with dreaded vertigo, it’s WOVEN in me now,
There’s things that I no longer do…no way and just no how
So let these Folks walk NARROW paths.. and see the Canyon’s Crown…
I’ll detour from their guided tour…let them GET THE LOWDOWN! 🏔

The Grand Canyon’s https://tinyurl.com/23mxws9u no stranger to the Jumble. In fact, it’s CLIMBED pretty close to the TOP of the food chain ‘oer these years. We last VIEWed it in the puzzle of November 9th, https://tinyurl.com/7cjakzk and I just took a quick look through the Archives, and stopped counting after 15 puzzles. I mean one could easily GORGE themselves on Grand Canyon appearances…It’s definitely been a main attraction for David. But as I mentioned above, I’m really not a fan. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not looking DOWN my nose at it, no…not in the least. But trust me, I’d not bend OVER backwards to get up there. I’ve seen the pictures, I’ve viewed the videos, I’ve even flown over in a helicopter…So trust me, there’s no chance of me ever getting my SLOPES up about it. I’m good, thank you very much…And with that being said…let’s EDGE OVER to our words…

Once again, nothing new to see today…Four words…tried and true, with TIDOT, showing up AGAIN as it did on November 2nd of last year. And despite some really good anagrams, the Early Birds, from the first PEAK, went DOWN the list in no time FLAT. In fact, I’d say they had it all sewn up INFO, maybe five minutes. I tell ‘ya, lately these guys have really been on TOP of their game…Ok…and now the TOUR de force…

Today we find ourselves at that beautiful natural landmark, the Grand Canyon…and it’s absolutely GORGES. I was going to get DEEP into a description of it, but let’s face it, Folks…if you’re all that interested in the DETAILS, you can always read UP on it yourselves. And I believe there’s CLIFF notes. Anyway, we see a family of three, on a SEDIMENTAL Journey. But instead of going it alone, they’ve opted to hire a Tour Guide, so that they can GET THE LOWDOWN, https://tinyurl.com/e6fsmvbt without EXTENDING themselves. (Plus they’re LOWDOWN in the Canyon)! And I’m sure they’re INFO a much more enjoyable outing; since they’ll have their questions answered and not have to worry about losing their TERRAIN of thought along the way…It’s an ESCALATE idea!

Jeff’s Gems? I looked HIGH and LOW, and I’ve a few things to share. Easily into VIEW are Mom, LOWis, taking a picture, which we can see imposed on her phone…Dad, CLIFF, PEAKing through his binoculars…and ROCKY, the son, with his backpack and tree limb walking stick, enjoying the MOUNTAIN of YOUTH…Off to the left, high atop the mountains, we can see three parties of three, two walking, with the third on horseback. And there’s a tiny bit of something floating by in the water. As for the Tour Guide, Bob, identified by his name tag? He too dons a backpack, and has a tiny emblem patch on his sleeve, depicting a fir tree. And he looks like he’s getting ready to break out into a chorus of “Canyon Feel the Love Tonight”, https://tinyurl.com/4bk3mdsj as he answers Cliff’s questions about the Canyon’s depth. But the HIGH POINT for me? Cliff’s wearing a pair of convertible cargo pants, and if you look real closely, Jeff’s drawn the zippers so that we can actually see the sliders. And that, Folks, definitely brought it all together for me!

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one. Be well, stay safe, and I’ll SUMMIT all UP by wishing you a GORGES day…filled with nothing but HIGH notes! 🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🧵When they were finally able to GET THE LOWDOWN on the fabric that had been WOVEN too NARROW, they had to JUGGLE their schedules, and DITTO their workforce…🧵

🙇🏻‍♂️ The malice, it had WOVEN, and it finally set the scene,
The discontent they both now felt put an end to the dream…
Their NARROW-minded stubbornness, and DITTO their pure greed,
Had seen them JUGGLE happiness…and cause the rift to feed
And now they’ve parted ways…so there are lawyers of renown…
Who’ll benefit from all of this…once they GET THE LOWDOWN…🙇🏻‍♀️

  4. All easy anagrams, especially the ones with double letters (but y’all knew that). Initially thought correctly that jumble answer was GET THE XXXXXXX, but couldn’t come up with answer until solving words. Still, total time expended was less than a minute, which is pretty good for me. But am sure others get to go to the front of the class before me !!!

    • Good Morning, Terry. No worries…There’s no grading here, and it’s definitely not a race. As long as we have fun with the puzzles, that’s all that counts. But less than a minute? 👏🏻👏🏻Well done! Enjoy your day, Terry. Be well and stay safe…🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. It was a pretty fast solve for me, though at first I thought of Letdown. Got a kick out of today’s puns, Angela, most of all “sedimental journey” and “Cliff notes.”
    Wishing all a great day.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Thank you…TBT, I had a little trouble getting it off the ground this morning…(no pun intended)😉, but then juices finally started flowing. And yes, a pretty easy go of it today…Wishing you a great day too, Caroline. Be well and stay safe. 🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Those were my two favorite puns of yours today also, Angela (with a twinge of nostalgia at the Cliff Notes mention) and your song makes me think the cartoon people are also going to go on a fishing trip while they’re there (Tommy Roe)

        • LOL! Thanks, Steve. Although I did hope to get a RISE out of someone for my Mountain of Youth, too! 😂 But fishing? How? They’ve no equipment..They’d be FLOUNDERing! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

            • Hi David. I think some others may have thought that also, but the word “downlow” refers to something that’s discrete, or hidden. It wouldn’t fit the puzzle. Here David’s going for LOWDOWN, because he’s stressing how they opted to use the guide so that they’d get all the INFORMATION. They’d get the “lowdown” on the Canyon. Thanks for commenting, David. Be well and stay safe out there…🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Is the confinement getting to me??? Like an idiot I first quickly wrote down IDIOT and I juggled the letters but could not figure out the jumble until I went back to the jumbles and found out my error! And I thought that I was safe now that I am vaccinated!!!
      Have a nice weekend!
      Christian

      • ROTFL! 😂😂Christian, I do believe you’ve won the Internet with that one today, Sir! Priceless! (And the vaccination comment is just an added SHOT)! Wishing you a nice weekend too, Christian. Be well and stay safe. (And you’re not alone with the Pandemic Dilemm..ic! My brain cells have diminished so badly, I feel like it’s all an UPWARD CLIMB from here on in! 🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Good Morning, Kimberly. Definitely an easy one. But as always, cute and clever! Enjoy your day, Kimberly. Be well and stay safe out there…🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Good morning. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. I always do the words first then the cartoon. I don’t know, maybe it’s having been in the military and you do things in order. Or I just want to spend less time doing it. You have rules that you must follow. Lol. Loved your post Angela, plus your song choice. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Brooklyn…You never fail to give me a smile! Rules?😉 I love it! Good Morning…And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed today’s novel! 😂 Have a great day, Paul. Be well and stay safe out there…🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Easy solve this morning. I’m thinking of ‘The Grand Canyon Suite” by Ferdie Grofe – a lovely piece of music. Wishing all of you a grand day!

    • Good Morning, Betty. For you. I had to take a pill just to be able to look at these images. Definitely didn’t make it through to the end…Beautiful, yes. But beauty’s in the eye of the be-holding the breakfast down! 😉🤦🏻‍♀️ Enjoy, and have a great day!

      • I’m with you when it comes to heights, Angela. When we went to the Grand Canyon my husband booked us on one of those flights over the canyon. The plane had just huge windows. My daughter and I were terrified the whole flight. I didn’t look down and prayed for a whole hour that we would land safely. I found out afterwards that one of those small planes had crashed the week before. My husband magnanimously said that he booked a flight with both a pilot and copilot in case one of them became ill. Never again!!

        • Betty….You know you’re preaching to the choir! I still can’t believe that I flew over…but it was before my vertigo days…(and I think I drank a lot more back then)! 😂😂 But I do remember telling my friend not to get his slopes up…because I doubted that I’d go through with it. But…I did. (See the above drinking comment)! 😂 But it is scary, especially to people like us, that are no fans of heights. Too bad, though, because it is beautiful…And I give props to your husband, 🙏🏻, he did do the sweetest thing. But, your “Never Again” definitely rings true! We’re both much more GROUNDed now! 😉🤦🏻‍♀️

  8. Hi all – I mistook the last word for ONWARD at first so had to correct that.
Then I thought the answer might be a pun along the lines of “See the gorgeous/gorges” etc. but that didn’t fit. I used GET for the first word, and the remaining letters showed LOWDOWN. It didn’t help that the online site left out the “THE” in the middle, but the Chronicle had it right.

The detail I liked was the binocular lenses looking like eyeballs with pupils in the center.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“He had barely WOVEN his way through the NARROW canyon while trying to JUGGLE the contents of his pack and DITTO his tent and its equipment.”

    • …Maybe if your guy SCALEd back on some of that equipment of his, he’d have had an easier go of it! You know the old saying…”Penny HIGHS, pound rulish”! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Have a good one, Steve. Be well and stay safe out there…🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Oh…And just a FYI. As for the “THE”? The online site has always left it out in the circled areas. They do print it with the question though, that appears repeated under the cartoon, in the gray HIGHlighted box. That’s why it’s HIGHly recommended that you check with both formats. 🏔🙋🏻‍♀️

  9. Anagrams were a snap but not the cartoon.Speaking of obstacles, the Bright Angel Trail was an obstacle for a friend of mine and I, when we hiked down into the canyon, only to realize that the climb back up would be twice as hard, especially after dusk.Long story short, we finally crawled out about 1 in the morning.

    • …Ah, to be young, huh Prof? 😉 You had yourself a bit of a CLIFFhanger there!…Hope you’re enjoying your day, Professor. Be well…and stay safe out there…🏔🙋🏻‍♀️
