  1. Not a hard J today, although SSEVUR had me off my game for quite a while. The solution came faster than that, but not by much…… Otherwise an easy week is winding down.
David & Jeff may just be lulling us to sleep before the weekend!
Dodgers starting a 4 game series with the Pads today and some rain may be coming Monday. The Guv declared a ‘megadrought’ yesterday and the wetness may not be witnessed.

  2. Good Morning, Everyone. 🧚🏻 WHEN YOUTH’S NOT WASTED ON THE PUN 🧚🏻

🎶 May the good Lord be with you, down every road you roam…And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you’re far from home…Be courageous and be brave…And in my heart, you’ll always stay…FOREVER YOUNG…FOREVER YOUNG…🎶 “Forever Young” – Rod Stewart 1988 https://tinyurl.com/6bpyjp3w

🧚🏻 So who amongst us hasn’t dreamt sometime of Neverland?
    I pictured trees…a leafy GLADE…and there was also sand…
And NOBODY could mean much more than Tinker Bell to me,
She captivated my young mind…we’re soul mates I and she…
The characters we see today, VERSUS ones in the past,
Are so much more endearing, they’re relatable this cast…
The generations given us? A WIPER I may need,
The cartoon somehow transports me…and memories do feed
And I think if I close my eyes, it’s as if I’m first told…
The story about Peter Pan…and it NEVER GROWS OLD…🧚🏻

So…Peter Pan…The Boy who NEVER wanted to GROW up… https://tinyurl.com/2ca4trka . As I mentioned above, I was HOOKed from an early age…And just to refresh our memories, we’ve seen him in the Jumble before…Back on 08/22/14, again on 11/05/16, https://tinyurl.com/29dtu557 and most recently, on 09/25/18 https://tinyurl.com/3ky3y99c . But we‘ve never seen him portrayed as we do today. Today it’s a three-generational, lighthearted turn on the theme…And it’s very endearing. But as I mentioned earlier, for me it was all Tinker Bell. https://tinyurl.com/meufzznt The little Fairy with her blonde hair, her gossamer wings, the strapless little green number, and that wand with its pixie dust. And for whatever reason, she just stole my imagination so many years ago…And wow…how time FLIES…

Anyway, with no new words today, we do have a split decision with our anagrams. We’ve seem PWRIE on 02/01/19, and SSEVUR on 06/14/20. And the Early Birds never drew a PLANK…they had BARRIE a moment of trouble with any of them. In fact, they SINGLE-HANDEDLY finished them in no time at all…And the solve?…Definitely no LOST BOYS today…

Ok…Scene: Our cartoon this morning brings us into a Jumble home, where we see a Grandfather, his daughter, and his two grandchildren. Watching Peter Pan on screen, flying over Neverland, our two adults are reminiscing about seeing the movie in the past; he in the theater, and she ALL THE TIME on DVD. And the little girl is overheard asking if she can watch it AGAIN. And it’s this dialogue of Jeff’s that’s definitely set the stage for our solution. With Peter Pan having been around for AGES…and David’s statement reminding us that he’s “FOREVER YOUNG”….The story of Peter Pan…NEVER GROWS OLD. And that’s a heck of a deSCRIPTion!

Jeff’s Gems? We have an aerial view of Neverland, with some palm trees visible, and Captain Hook’s Jolly Roger moored nearby. And I thought that I might have seen someone on the boat, only I think that’s more FICTION than fact. But what brought it all home for me? If you look real closely, there flying above the feather of Peter’s archers cap? It’s Tinker Bell! So fairy, fairy good!

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Have a good one…Be well stay safe…and I’ll leave you with this…Why is Peter Pan always flying? Because he Neverlands…And yes, I’m sure you’ve heard it before…but it NEVER GROWS OLD…🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🎸 Despite hearing that it NEVER GETS OLD, NOBODY hated discussions of The Beatles VERSUS the Stones more than he, so he went out to his car that was parked in the GLADE, and worked on repairing his broken windshield WIPER…🎸

🆚 The preposition VERSUS is such the in-between,
An open GLADE versus foliage, can def present quite the scene
Or there’s a windshield WIPER, instead of rain soaked glass,
And NOBODY has trouble between Astro turf and grass…
And then there’s good and evil, perhaps that’s the one most bold…
And the story of it we all know is one NEVER GROWS OLD! 🆚

  4. Taking a first look at the puzzle answer, immediate thoughts were a past tense answer. Thought up NEVER XXXXX OLD, but couldn’t think of middle word. Then solved first word and somehow the W in wiper got my brain cells moving in the right direction.

    • WAY to go, Terry! Good Morning…and Good solve! Enjoy your day…Be well and stay safe. 🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  5. Sweet poem about Tink & Peter, Angela! I don’t remember hearing the Neverlands Joke, so it was new for me! Started out trying to figure the solution, before figuring out the words first, again! Thought that the 3 letter word might be Boy or Fly. Took a minute or two after looking at my scramble of solution letters, at first glance saw World, Solve and Nod. When I picked up on Never, Old and Grows came next! Good Friday All! Have a Great Weekend!

    • Good Morning, Kimberly. I leave the words for last too…and if you choose that method, just follow the clues that are always in the dialogue..Then figuring out the answer becomes a whole lot easier. And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the rhyme…Have a good day, Kim. Be well and stay safe. 🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Yes! I need to do that! I need to slow down and think! Instead, my eyes dart around to combinations of letters, making random words! It still comes rather quickly that way, and helps me to eliminate the words, that don’t make any sense! But I find I need to focus more, on the subject at hand! And in using your words, (because I can think of no others that fit as well)….your poem was very “endearing” today! (Like….I kinda got a lump in my throat! 😥) You were “Transporting” us back to the innocence of childhood! Take good care!

        • There’s definitely no right or wrong way to doing the Jumble. But the cartoons are always so full of clues, whether it be the wording, or the graphics, that most times the solve just flies 😉 right off the page! One just need to study the cartoon…And thank you again, for your kind words. 🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

          • Angela…you’ve got to admit that sometimes the puzzle answer is SO VERY cryptic, which puts (at least) me at my wit’s end for a solution…and I end up saying “where did that come from”??? Take care.

            • Hey Terry…Of course some puzzles are harder to solve than others. And David does push the envelope once in a while…But there’s always a method to his madness! 😉 And what fun would it be without a little challenge? And I like your WITs end! 🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Good morning. Enjoyed it this morning. I was stuck on Versus for sometime but it finally clicked like the cartoon answer which was solved in half the time. Loved the final outcome. Nice song choice Angela. I’ll grab my coffee and breakfast and then read your novels. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • LOL! 😂 Well, you do that! And I hope you enjoy them as much as the music! 😉 And yes, it’s a great solve. Enjoy your day, Paul. Be well and stay safe…🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. I thought the cartoon answer would be “never grew old”,but after getting the anagrams rather quickly, even versus and nobody, after a moment’s pause, never was clearly the first word, and old the last one, leaving “grows” to fill in the phrase.I think the Wed-Fri jumbles were easier than those earlier in the week.Well after freezing early week weather w snow, warmer days are ahead w rain on the weekend,Yuck,as in Chuck.

    • Good Morning, Professor. It’s been a good week all around, IMO. And Kudos on the solve…The weather? It’s definitely been an erratic week, all over the country. But at least you’re not getting more snow! Have a good one, Prof. Be well and stay safe out there..🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Cute puzzle this morning. “Nobody” and “versus” were well jumbled but figured them out as well as the cartoon answer. We have a car dealer here in the Bay Area called “Peter Pan Motors”. They sell BMWs. So if any of you drive BMWs, you may consider yourself forever young or at the very least young at heart.

    • Hi Betty. Yes, a very cute puzzle. And Kudos 👏🏻👏🏻on the solve! So, Peter Pan Motors…Did the cars just fly off the lot? 😉 ..And here’s to hoping we all stay Young at Heart! Have a good one, Betty. Be well and stay safe. 🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

      • 🎵”FAIRY TALES can come true, it can happen to you
        If you’re YOUNG AT HEART”🎵 😂

  9. Hi all – Got the words (even with the double letter trick not working for NOBODY.) I guessed NEVER GOT OLD for the answer, but needed the letters to see the middle word.

You definitely needed the online cartoon to see my favorite detail – Tinkerbell flying along with Peter Pan. I knew her much better from Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color on Sunday nights than from the Peter Pan incarnations though.
And speaking of old, “..watched the DVD when I was a girl”…. OUCH! How many of you have actually watched a black-and-white TV? My family never even got color until I’d gone off to college, where a large group would gather at the Student Union’s one color TV on Friday after dinner to watch Star Trek.

Had to laugh at the funny HOOK in your story at “single-handedly”, Angela! 😂

    Good wishes to everyone.

“NOBODY who drove through the wet slippery GLADE without turning on their windshield WIPER ever emerged from the confrontation of car VERSUS trees.”

    • LOL! I was hoping that line PANned out! 😂 Enjoy your day, Steve. Be well and stay safe! 🧚🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. Speaking of LA and San Diego, I hadn’t heard this previously, but I just read this in the latest UC newsletter “Fiat Lux” (which I thought was what you used to wash your Italian car):

“Piloted by UCLA and UC San Diego alumna Megan McArthur, the NASA SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft blasted off in the predawn hours, heading for the International Space Station. McArthur will spend six months as a crew member at the orbiting outpost.”

    • Well I didn’t hear of this, so this little “tidbit” of info. is very much appreciated! Thanks, News Networks, for NOT keeping us informed! No one seems to care about the space flights anymore! I still happen to think they are a pretty big deal! And P.S. I grew up with B & W tv when I was little. Used to get invited to a relatives house to watch “Rudolph” in color for the Holidays! What a treat!

    • We missed that launch! But there’s another one on 4/28 at 12:05am est that we’re definitely going to see. It’s a SpaceX Falcon 9 launching 60 Starlink satellites. So excited!!! 🚀

          • Unfortunately not for long Mike. Dodgers down 0-2 with 2 more games this weekend. Dodger bats have died…………………………..

              • IM a big Dodger guy, Mike. This year has started out quite well but the last 2 games are worrisome. Hoping the next 2 games go our way……………….

              • It’s early still, and it makes for entertaining television! I see the Giants are knocking on the door. But you’ve got Mook — there’s nothing to worry about! 😉

              • You are right Mike–Mookie is the best!
The chemistry and energy he has brought to the Dodgers is amazing. He joined an already great team and he has made it better. Gotta love this guy!!!!!

              • He’s a champ! It was heartbreaking to see him leave the Red Sox. He won’t disappoint come post — that’s when he shines.

              • I get it after watching him play. The Blue was already good and somehow got him. How sweet it is!!
Still I am amazed how big the run drought is for the Dodgers. They are an amazing battery and really should lay these Padres out cold1
                Long season we’ll see!!

        • I watched it too, Mr. Mig! When I was little, but still remember it fondly, through clouded memories! I remember it being late at night, to watch where we live. I haven’t googled it, but it seemed that way. Seemed like the “world” was watching too! Wish something “nice” would happen, to bring us all (the world) together like that again!

      • OMG! That is Exciting! Saw a small rocket, carrying a satellite, launch when we were standing in NASA parking lot years ago! Small but…… LOUD! 🙉 Complete silence after that……scared all the birds away!

      • Wow, you’re going to see that in person in the middle of the night? That sounds spectacular, hope all goes well!

  11. I had galed (past tense of gale-windy) instead of glade. As I don’t live near real forests, glade is rather obscure to me. Alas, galed is a scrabble word, but, I guess, not a MW dictionary word.

    • We’ve been indulging in more Scrabble games since the pandemic took over, and I’ve come across a few words that surprised me by being Scrabble acceptable. But you’re right…if it’s not MW approved? We won’t see it here! Have a good night, Dennis. Be well and stay safe. 🧚🏻‍♀️🙋🏻
