    🇸🇪 So some houses are WOODY, while others favor glass,
    But looking at the architecture, definitely shows the class
    I searched for the right window, from where one would ELOPE
    (And you don’t think I really did…no that’s surely a nope)!
    Just trying to keep tempo, to let the rhythm flow…
    A rhyme about some Swedish homes…I’m not sure how to go…
    But pros and cons from what I’ve seen, be it SUMMER or spring,
    The HEARTH and home of Sweden looks like it has everything
    So to natives of Stockholm, no matter where you roam…
    I’m sure there’s nothing quite as nice, as coming HOME “SWEDE” HOME! 🇸🇪

    So, doing some research for this puzzle, I decided to leaf through a book about Stockholm Syndrome…It was pretty bad at first, but by the end I liked it. As I like today’s puzzle…

    Ok…From what I can see, it looks like WOODY may be making its debut here today in the Wonderful World of Jumble Words. Seems a little odd, but I did come up empty. But I know my lists are a little SPLINTERED, so I’ll take another look later on when I get a chance. Our other three words? Been there, done that, with just PLOEE showing up as a repeat anagram, from both April 25th, 2017, https://tinyurl.com/yxsf58tf and February 17th, 2018. https://tinyurl.com/y26s8gzm . And as far as our solve today? David’s afFJORDed us a most NOBEL gesture, and I doubt he could have granted us anything more to SWEDEN the deal…A solid HOME run! Things are definitely looking Upp..sala today!

    Which brings us to our cartoon. Life in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. https://tinyurl.com/y2dlc8ft. With our couple, Anna and Mark, getting ready to enjoy a cup of coffee and a HOME made meal, we’re overlooking what I think to be Lake Mälaren, as we’re brought into one of those Stockholm HOMEs that David’s speaking of today. And just as most of us feel when we return home, they’re happy to be back. Their own house, their own kitchen…Because DEN, MARK* can enjoy his view…and Anna can enjoy her breakfast smörgås… an open-faced toasted sandwich very common as a Scandinavian breakfast. It’s a simple piece of rye bread with butter and most likely a slice of cheese, or maybe spruced up a bit, with toppings like cucumbers, apples, sliced eggs, or bell peppers. And we can see how comfortable and content they are…they’re HOME “SWEDE” HOME. And let’s face it Folks…Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like…your own kitchen, enjoying a smörgås!

  4. 🏠 Any memories of HOME SWEET HOME always included those SUMMER days riding in the family WOODY, sitting at the HEARTH in winter, and the beautiful Spring day his sister decided to ELOPE…🏚

    🌲🍁 The WOODY area behind the house had trees of red and gold,
    And nixing their plans to ELOPE, a wedding there they’d hold
    They’d tie the knot in SUMMER, with vows till death do part,
    Then retreat to the indoors where they’d gather ‘round the HEARTH
    Just family and close friends, a toast…perhaps a poem…
    The bottom line there’s nothing beats together…HOME SWEET HOME 🍁🌲

  6. Hi all – Saw the answer right away, but got distracted on two of the words – saw ‘resume’ before SUMMER, and then got sidetracked by RATHER, HEATHER, THREAT and HEATER before seeing HEARTH.

    Nice puns today Angela, and thanks for the description of her breakfast; I was wondering what that was. It’s hard to tell from the colorized version, but I saw the black and white online first, and I think that’s supposed to be the Swedish flag on “Mark’s” coffee cup.

  7. Easy breezy one this morning. I figured the word in quotation marks would be Swede so the rest fell into place easily. We’re due for some rain here today so am hoping it materializes. Hope all of you have a Good Friday.

  8. I,too,thought threat rather than hearth,but then all 4 anagrams were a snap.Quickly followed by home Swede home for the cartoon solution,a Monday easy puzzle on this Friday.I,too,heard the news of Aaron’s death,a rough year or so for baseball HoF members dying,eg.Aaron,Seaver,Gibson,etc.

  9. I was RATHER side tracked with HEARTH. Because of that I couldn’t solve the puzzle. We were on a cruise that stopped in Stockholm and the long sail in and sail out through thousands of islands was spectacular! Thanks Mike for your help… Hopefully I’ll read the anagrams better tomorrow.

  10. Giant Catcher Mike Sadek has also died. Mike was a “Forever Giant” and for 30 years he was a member of the Giants as Player and his role in Community Relations. We did get our rain – much needed soaking with light breezes. Today’s puzzle was easy and fun. Very Swede! Ann
