  1. Good Morning, Everyone. 🐓THE “EGG”-CEPTION TO THE RULE?🐓

🎶 Well I’m movin’ on to higher ground…cause the FOX IS IN THE HENHOUSE NOW…🎶. “Fox in the Henhouse” – Quaker City Night Hawks 2013 https://tinyurl.com/y42mgpjo

🥚🐓 So why’d the chicken cross the road…we’ve been asked ‘oer the years,
I never fell for “other side”…like many of my peers…
I always thought…there could be SLUDGE, or traffic that won’t quit,
You’d be a silly GOOSE to simply go along with it…
But that was always how I was…mere IMAGE I’d protest,
My sainted Mother prayed for an ELIXIR she might test…
So not one easily convinced…I see our barnyard scene,
And wonder if the hens involved created a smokescreen…
Perhaps they want to cross that road, and opened up that fence,
So Farmer here could blame the Fox…but there’d be freedom hence…
And finally now here’s the chance for all these cooped up hens,
To cross the road and visit friends…or shop…it all depends,
    Yeah, maybe it’s a tad far-fetched, hen logic’s not prestigious…
    But just the same I’d question it… before I’d cry ”EGG-REGIOUS”! 🐓🥚

New scrambles…old words…And while the Early Birds agreed that todays words weren’t much to get eggcited over, thigh had to admit that thigh couldn’t just wing it when it came to the solution. In fact, thigh agreed almost to a man, that thigh fried a few times before they cracked it today…And with that said, let’s see what Jeff’s hatched up for us this morning…

So, we’re back here at the farm…It’s been a while now…In fact, it’s almost a year to the eggsact date…(we last visited August 17th, ‘19…. https://tinyurl.com/yy2obb9m). But back hen, it was a totally different theme…Today we don’t have the gals pumped up over a rooster… today it’s Redd Foxx who’s got them chuckling…I mean clucking…Feathers are ruffled because that Fox pecked their home to break into…and it’s no yolk! Nope, this is no laughing matter…It’s fowl play is what it is…it’s totally “EGG- REGIOUS” https://tinyurl.com/y69p7tbp behavior…And David’s definitely pullet off!

As for our cartoon? If you look out back, you’ll see the Fox scrambling away…and the fried open fence where he got in…But we definitely need to zero in on the hen doing the talking…While the Farmer genuinely looks eggsasperated, that chick deGRADE A ing the Fox? The one flapping her beak while the breast remain mum?…I don’t know about you, but I think she’s just cooking up an alibi…now that her plan has run afowl…

So, There you have it, Yolks…Done! Wishing you all the best day possible…and here’s hoping we can all keep our Sunny Sides Up…🐓🥚🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. Good morning. I was able to get the words and even EGG for the first word on the cartoon answer but just gave in on the rest. After seeing the answer, I’m glad I didn’t continue. I’ve seen much clever finishes. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Until then take care and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. I think the word EGREGIOUS not being all that common is what made it a stumper. Have a good one, Paul. Be well and stay safe. 🥚🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. My first thought was excessive but the letters didn’t work. I also thought of Exilir before looking it up and finding Elixir, which I wrongly guessed would be today’s stumper. The drawing and dialog made me smile.
    Wishing all a good weekend.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. You’re not wrong about ELIXIR…Of today’s words, it’s running rings around the other three. And I enjoyed the cartoon too. The Farmer brought to mind an Amish man, since he appeared to me to look as they’re usually depicted. (Is that sentence a little fractured? It doesn’t quite sound right). But you know what I mean. The shape of hat, the beard, the suspenders and the open-neck dress shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. I guess that would be the wrench in the mix though…because the shirt’s colored powder blue in my paper, and I’m pretty sure Amish men wear nothing but white. Either way, it’s a very cute cartoon. Hoping you’re enjoying the morning, Caroline. Be well and stay safe out there. 🥚🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. I didn’t have the problems most seemed to today. All of the words came quickly except elixir which was no miracle treatment. Saw EGG immediately and just fooled around briefly to solve the rest of the solution. I too enjoy the cartoons with the Amish man but think my all time fave is the headless horseman……

    • LOL! ELIXIR…No miracle treatment! 👏🏻👏🏻. I guess the word’s just a little too obsCURE! 😂 As for the Headless Horseman, he’s one of my favorites too. And obviously one of David and Jeff’s, since he’s graced these pages many a time. Hopefully we’ll see him again soon…but I don’t want to get aHEAD of myself…And yet…since he usually makes an appearance around Halloween, I’ll take a chance and stick my NECK out! 😉… And especially for you…here’s the last time we’ve seen him, October 27th. https://tinyurl.com/y6ewcbra. Have a good day, Mig. Be well and stay safe out there…🐓🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. 🦆No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get the IMAGE of the GOOSE covered in that EGREGIOUS SLUDGE out of his mind…and he wondered if there was any ELIXIR the Vet could use to treat it…🦆

  7. Hi all – Not too much trouble with the words or answer today. ELIXIR came to mind because I just recently (was it here?) wrote about Madam Ruth mixing up Love Potion #9. “Egg” seemed obvious for the start of the answer, and I thought Egg-asperating and then Egg-regious. I had to check the spelling of both Elixir and Egregious to be sure.
I also had to go online to see the cute drawing of the fox leaving the yard via the hole in the fence.

Last Tuesday a MOOSE, today a GOOSE in the puzzle words. Let them all LOOSE!

Good job finding a rhyme for egregious, Angela; that wasn’t easy!
I like the chicken conspiracy theory too. Fits right in with these times.

    Good wishes to everyone.

Here we go again, “Way down in Loo-seania close to New Orleans” –
“Since she couldn’t see clients in person for awhile, Madame Ruth tried to GOOSE her online sales of “Love ELIXIR” by hiring a professional photographer for her website, but the IMAGE of black SLUDGE at the bottom of her sink had the opposite effect.”

    • LOL! Tks, Steve…And you’re right, it wasn’t. I SCRAMBLED to come up with one…😉. In fact, I just now realized that I never did a sentence and second rhyme, so I’m gonna see if I can COOK up another one…without ending up with EGG on my face! The conspiracy theory? As I said, I think that hen was just tired of being COOPed up so long…I know it’s definitely FRYING my patience…😉 And yes, it was here that you spoke of Madam Ruth. Enjoy your day, Steve. Be well and stay safe out there…🥚🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. Mea culpa. Mea culpa…It’s the best I could do! 🤦🏻‍♀️

🙏🏻 He walked into the quiet Church…with IMAGE after image,
He wasn’t very spiritual, but had Catholics in his lineage…
He sometimes thought Religion to be kind of like voodoo,
The good, the bad, a sin that an ELIXIR could subdue…
He saw a statue with a GOOSE, or maybe it’s a dove,
It’s descending on someone’s head from somewhere up above…
His thoughts went to that movie, you know about the Birds?
And all the SLUDGE they’d flown about…then thought how quite absurd
He cleared his mind of foolishness, and looked around for Jesus…
And knew he better get a grip…his behavior EGREGIOUS! 🙏🏻

  9. Afternoon. Worked a double shift, so went to bed, then the puzzle. Angela, I thought you had to
use the words in order during your story. would that be an egg-regious error. ?

    Liked by 1 person

    • LOL! Hi Anom. In order? You’re YOLKing, right? I’m lucky I PULLET off and get them all in, half the time! This is something I HATCHED up on my own, there’s no set rule…So as far as errors go? There’s no FOWL play here! Have a good night, Anom. Be well and stay safe out there…🐓🙋🏻‍♀️
