  1. Good morning. It was not the usual express lane for a Monday solve but close to it. I took your advice Angela and studied the picture carefully and looking at the letters I came up with the answer on my first try. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • …And it SUITed 😉you well! 👏🏻👏🏻! Good Morning, Brooklyn! Have a good one, Paul. Be well, stay cool…and be safe out there! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. I guess it was too early for me as I saw ” suede” instead of douse, which meant I lacked the u for the first word ,suit. Once I saw the error in my ways on douse, and had the necessary u for suit, the overal cartoon answer was a quick solve.

  3. 👔 He’s wanting to be comfortable…and NIMBLE just as well,
When he gets up to do the SKETCH he’s hoping he can sell..
Presenting at the Oscars…along with his ex-spouse,
It should be fun, but nerve-racking…and nerves he wants to DOUSE…
So hoping she won’t SINGE him, and just follow his leads…
Dressed to the nines he’s ready…And it all should SUIT HIS NEEDS! 👔

💍 Trying to SKETCH their initials inside the ring he bought her, he slipped and felt a SINGE to his not too NIMBLE fingers, and quickly dipped them into the bowl of water (that he knew would SUIT HIS NEEDS) to DOUSE the pain…💍

🚪 So thinking Jack be NIMBLE, he hoped he wouldn’t SINGE
His eyebrows as he zeroed in to solder on the hinge…
He closely followed Googles SKETCH, and hoped he wouldn’t DOUSE
The faith that she had put in him…’cause he’d feel like a louse…
He swore that he could fix the door…he needed to succeed
    A wing, a prayer, a soldering gun…he hoped they’d SUIT HIS NEEDS! 🚪

  4. Easy Monday morning puzzle today. Is the fellow all dressed up with no place to go? Enjoyed the lesson in how to tie a bow tie, Mike. Hope all of you have a good day.

    • I’ve never worn a bow tie, Betty. Maybe I’ll give it a shot when “normalcy” returns. Have a super week!

  5. Hi all – Got all the words today. Thought the answer would be something like MAKE HIM or “something THE”, or the middle word would be FIT. Wrote down the letters and almost saw STENCH. A closer look showed SUIT, which meant the middle word couldn’t be THE but was probably HIS, and that left NEEDS.

I liked Jeff’s throwaway reference to “Sharp Dressed Man”

I also liked your home improvement poem Angela – sounds like my fumbling attempts. At least I haven’t SINGED anything or burned the house down yet.

    Good wishes to everyone.

“The pyrotechnics in the comedy SKETCH required a NIMBLE reaction from the crew to DOUSE the flames before they could do more than SINGE the singer’s hair.”

  6. Good evening. Mike do you still have the bee hives. Because I saw a show the other day about the Chinese bug that’s twice the size of bees and bits their heads off and destroys the whole colony. There is much concern because they decimated a colony over 60,000 bees. Until tomorrow stay well

    • Hi Paul. With everything going on at the beginning of the year we ended up deciding against it. Now it sounds like we really made the correct choice! 🙂

It’s a coincidence because I thought of you the other night while watching a program on tv called “The Pizza Show.” They visited Di Fara in Midwood and then they dropped in on some guys playing bocce! Not sure if you’re even near there but the pie looked amazing. Take care.

  7. I have a question for Jumble fans: The quality and cleverness send to have slipped dramatically. Do we know who is doing them? In my paper, there is no credit. The scrambled words are supposed to make potential words (the convention of original Jumble) but now it seems to be any combination of letters. PXDUEL can’t possible be provided. Definitely not as much fun. And then the cartoon solutions themselves have been dull for awhile. Is it just me? What’s up?

    • Hi Greg. Good Morning. I’m not sure how to field your questioning of Duplex, but I went back to look at the past times it was used, and it was scrambled as such: PDXELU, DXELUP, PUXELD, and XPULED…dating back to 2015. David does try to keep the anagrams fresh each time, so it’s appearance today as PXDUEL doesn’t seem that far off the mark. There’s only just so much one can do with six letters…As for who’s doing the puzzles, I know personally that David takes great pride in his work…and the fact that he alone creates the words and solutions for the puzzles, (with the art work, of course being solely done by Jeff). And while I can’t speak for others, I always find the puzzles entertaining, albeit some a lot easier to solve than others. For me, there always seems to be that bit of wit and whimsy that both David and Jeff are known for. It might just boil down to the fact that perhaps after you’ve been doing the puzzles for a certain length of time, you’ve just gotten better at it, and they’ve gotten easier to solve…But again, it’s just my opinion. Thanks for commenting, Greg. Be well, and stay safe out there…🙋🏻‍♀️
