  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well….
So…Pawnee, Indiana? Then Hoosier City Official? Leslie Knope? 😉🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. 👨🏻‍⚖️ It took every OUNCE of strength he had to not bring the GAVEL down when the defendants lawyer brought a DONKEY into the courtroom, saying that he saw its owner taking a PADDLE to it outside…and felt he was doing a GOOD DEED by rescuing him…👨🏻‍⚖️

🗣 His PADDLE at the ready, he couldn’t wait to bid,
He came here to the auction…but enthusiasm hid…
He had his eye on two items…one was the OUNCE of oil
Exotic it described as…he prayed there’d be no foil…
The other lot desired was the one with DONKEY art,
Now that the artist had passed on…it would be worth a lot…
So he sat hoping nervously, the GAVEL would be heard
After he made his bids today…he’d have the final word…
These auctions made him nervous…the want mixed in with greed,
But business being business, this was no place for GOOD DEED! 🗣

  3. Gavel gave me an initial reason to pause, but then in true poker fashion, the D’s,O’s and E’s were wild, yielding a quick cartoon solution of good deeds.Speaking of good deeds, maybe the Jumble author was hinting we all start off the week doing good deeds.

  4. The answer was an easy one but I had to back into Gavel. I like Chuck’s idea about good deeds.
    Wishing all a happy day.

  5. Good morning. Could have sworn that I posted about two hours ago but now I don’t see it. Today was a normal easy breezy Monday jumble. No problem with the words and if I would have looked at the cartoon before writing down the letters it would have been a blind solve. Until tomorrow stay well.

  6. Easy breezy one this Monday morning. It’s beautiful and sunny here today, perfect day for a good deed, Chuck. Have a good one all.

  7. Hi all – Easy one today. The double letter trick saved me time on PADDLE, and I took a couple of tries to get GAVEL.

I don’t watch much TV Angela so I wouldn’t have gotten your reference, but I went online to see it said City of Pawnee and then to Wikipedia to discover that it’s a fictional Indiana town in “Parks and Recreation.”

    Good wishes to everyone.

“Without an OUNCE of common sense, he used a GAVEL to PADDLE his DONKEY from behind, and paid an immediate price.”

    • From the word go I immediately thought of GOOD WILL . However the W was missing inDEED! The double D’s did the trick!

    • Hey Steve…Yes. And if it is Pawnee, Indiana, then that’s the multitalented award winning Amy Poehler, in her role as Leslie Knope, voicing her appreciation…I’ve never seen the show either…but “I’ve read about it”….😉 Be well, Steve…and stay safe. 🙋🏻‍♀️

    • If your talking about the picture, she has two spots for gold and she has 3 medals 🎖 otherwise?

        • Out of curiosity, I checked the SF Chronicle and the East Bay Times, and they had the names correct.

(Mike Argirion was David Hoyt’s predecessor as the Jumble wordsmith.
The cartoon is correct; silver and bronze medal boxes are stacked on top of each other, so there are 4 medals.)

          • The Bradenton (Florida) Herald has been using Mike Argirion’s name on The Sunday puzzle instead of David’s. I’ve already emailed them… 🙂

              • Yes, it is, very. And out of curiosity..(😉) ..I went back looking through a slew of Sunday puzzles, and there’s no names printed at all, on that or on the Jumble for Kids, which prints right below it. That’s odd too. Maybe because they cram so much stuff on the Sunday puzzle pages…and it’s given such a big panel. My puzzle is 4” by 4” every day…so on Sundays the Jumble puzzles alone take up 8”. 🤷🏻‍♀️

        • That’s not the standard font for the names. And the b in by is never capitalized. And for some reason on Sundays, in my paper anyway, the names aren’t printed atop like they are the other six. Fake news! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Hi Caroline. Mike passed away in 2016. David is his successor, and he began creating Jumble puzzles in 2011. 🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Thanks, Angela. I read his obit after posting. I tried to find out who the athlete pictured might be – if a real person – but no luck.

        • YW, Caroline. I was just apologizing to Steve…I hadn’t seen his comment before I wrote you. He had already mentioned who Mike Argirion was. The athlete? I know, right? It seems to be Simone.. the look, but as I mentioned y’day, the medal count is wrong. She has 4 Gold and a Bronze Olympic medals. Maybe it’s a combination of a few different women….(or maybe we just take this all way too seriously)! 😂😂! Have a good night, Caroline…We’re waiting for the storm here. I think you’ve had it already? Be well, and stay safe out there…🙋🏻‍♀️

      • No storm here yet, Angela, and I haven’t heard about one coming. Good luck with yours. You stay safe, too.
