  1. Good morning. I had a small pause for cause on Waive. Other than that the rest was a breeze including the cartoon puzzle. My first thought was gloves to play but once I put down the letters I realized that was out. My second thought fit the solution like a glove. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. “Out” and “Fit like a glove”? Nicely PLAYed, Paul! Be well and stay safe out there…⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. Good morning again. Oddly enough, the owner of the outdoor Theater became very Whinny when he had to Waive the deposits due to the intense Smoggy weather. Take care out there.

  3. Good Morning, Everyone… ⚾️ PLAY BALL! ⚾️

🎶 If you’re meant for me like I’m meant for you…Baby, we FIT LIKE A GLOVE…If you’re lovin’ me like I’m lovin’ you…Baby, we’re really in love…🎶 “Baby, We’re Really in Love” – Hank Williams Sr & Jr 1966 https://tinyurl.com/y9dlxxun

⚾️ If not for this kind donor…WHINNY sounds kin to a keen
Might have been heard if forced to WAIVE a game that may have been
The day looks slightly SMOGGY, but for baseball it’s ok
You don’t need sun for baseball…only rain would ruin the day
Just one thing strikes me ODDLY…the man standing’s saying “We”
But who’s the other person? I’m not sure who it could be…
The one that we see kneeling, who at first I took as grown
By looking closer at him, seems a child’s face is shown…
Well either way the largesse made the day for these kids grand
“Play Ball” is now the battle cry…’Cause they have GLOVES ON HAND! ⚾️

When you’re a kid, there’s nothing like a pick-up game of baseball…and many times today’s scenario rings true. I remember loving my glove when I was a kid. I oiled it, worked saddle soap into it, learned how to flare it, and sat for hours on end punching the pocket. And when we played, I shared my glove with the kids who didn’t have one…My Dad said it was the right thing to do…But I was a skinny, wiry little thing, right down to my hands…so I remember always being worried when the kid I lent it to had hands that were bigger than mine…Such problems, huh?

But today there was no problem with any of our words…All having rounded the bases in past games, three of the four have anagrams that have been used before, with only DLOYD coming up as a first…As for the solve, it’s a definite Home Run, especially with the young girl at left saying she’s “a lefty”, (HAND) and the opened bag on the ground full of GLOVES…Plenty of GLOVES ON HAND. And with it sounding so familiar, I did a search, and found that back on March 16th, 2015, a puzzle with a similar game plan was played…”The kids wanted to play baseball, but there weren’t enough gloves…”ON HAND”. Ah, Baseball…We wish you were here…

Eye candy? A runner, a bicyclist, and what looks like four people sitting under the pergola in the background…two at a bench, and perhaps the other two at a table. Happy group of kids getting gloves. The man who said “We” has his arm protectively draped over the shoulder of the cute little boy in glasses…I’m thinking his son. But I’m going with the cap worn by the youthful looking man or boy HANDing out the prized possessions…Look closely…It’s branded with the signature circled Jumble “J”. Always a hit..

So, there you have it Folks…Done! Wishing you all a great day…I hope it’s a winner…⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

    • Good afternoon. Loved your song choice Angela including all your posts. Way back when they did the movie on Hank Williams Sr I went out and bought two of his albums. He is my favorite country singer. Isn’t it amazing that you can understand every word so clearly. Take care.

      • Thanks, Paul. I‘m glad you liked it. I enjoy a lot of different country music too. And I like the sound of both of the Williams men…Only thing….I got a little saddened thinking about Football! 😉Hope you’re enjoying your day, Brooklyn…I read that Bocce’s opening up soon. “Legit” Bocce, that is!..😉 Be well, and stay safe out there…⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. No problem, though I was delayed w the puzzle driving up to Dixon to watch the twins, who turn 6, next Tuesday,6 already!

  5. 💸 Agreeing to WAIVE the increase in dues after everyone’s WHINNY sounds were heard, the decision didn’t seem such an ODDLY-executed one, since the recent…shall we say SMOGGY situation of spending so much money just to have new GLOVES ON HAND proved to be a definite mistake…💸

🛥 The weather turned all SMOGGY, and the boaters felt quite lost,
They’d have to WAIVE their outing, safety first by any cost…
The ODDLY-mixed commenting…there were some sounding quite WHINNY
Annoyed the captain to no end…so he gave them the skinny…
“It’s hard to navigate water when smog coats sea and land…
Let’s stay ashore and toss some balls…there’s plenty GLOVES ON HAND”…🛥

  6. Anagrams and cartoon solution came easily this morning. Hope all of you have a good Saturday.

    • Good Morning, Betty. I thought so too…an easy breezy one today. Wishing you a good day too. Be well, stay safe. ⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Hi all – I saw A VIEW before WAIVE, then for a second thought we had DOILY yesterday and DOLLY today, but the second look showed ODDLY. The answer was obvious.

Very interesting song Angela. A father/child duet like Nat King and Natalie Cole, eh? Too bad we don’t have one of Woody and Arlo Guthrie (or do we? hmmm.)

    Good wishes to everyone.

“When several of the horses began to WHINNY ODDLY in the SMOGGY air, it was quickly decided to WAIVE the race.”

    • Hey Steve…There’s this..https://tinyurl.com/ycev3hjw
But nothing comes close to the Nat and Natalie duet…Makes me cry every time I listen to it…Have a good one, Bunky…Be safe out there. ⚾️🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Thanks! Wow, that’s amazing to see Hoyt Axton, Judy Collins, etc. – I just wish they didn’t change KEY every time the scene shifts! (Ow, my ears hurt! 😂)
Much like the baseball glove video above – very interesting, but the music made me feel like I’d spent the afternoon at the video game arcade playing Space Invaders, Pac Man or Burgertime.

      • Good afternoon again. I saw that daughter and father duet in Manhattan. I probably still have the ticket stubs somewhere. I didn’t have the best of seats for that one. I was maybe three rows from the back. When she sung that song and the giant screen showed her father, you would swear they were both live. It was magnificent, it gave you chills. Although she has a great voice I didn’t enjoy her as much only because she changed a lot of her fathers tempo on a lot of his songs. Why ruin something that’s perfection. Take care.

        • Hey Brooklyn…We have to stop meeting like this…people are ‘gonna start talking! 😉 I remember you mentioning seeing her in concert. I saw the duet too…in AC I think it was. And I’m with you…you heard the collective gasp from the audience when you heard his voice and he appeared. And I remember my friend saying…”You’re gonna start crying already”? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I got the chills again just now looking at this clip. And that kiss at the end?…Pick me up off the floor…😢 As for her take on his music, I guess everyone wants to put their own stamp on things. I’m sure she wanted to emulate him, but not “be” him. Big shoes to fill…and a big legacy to live up to. She had such a tragic life, though..she always seemed to be fighting one demon or another. And I think maybe she was always chasing her Fathers ghost. Daddy-Daughter issues…Don’t get me started….😢🤷🏻‍♀️ Enjoy the clip, Brooklyn…I need a tissue…🙋🏻‍♀️
