SUPEA = PAUSE
VINGE = GIVEN
TANTEB = BATTEN
VONPER = PROVEN
CARTOON ANSWER:
THE MOUNTAINTOP BASKETBALL COURT FEATURED – – –
ASE GIN ATTN POV = VANTAGE POINTS
Good Morning, Everyone… 🏀 WHAT’S THE POINT? 🏀
🎶 Ain’t no MOUNTAIN high enough…Ain’t no valley low enough…Ain’t no river wide enough…to keep me from you…🎶 “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” – Diana Ross 1970
🏀 It’s definitely been PROVEN that if winds should pick up strong,
It’s gonna be a GIVEN that your pickup game’s going wrong
Best BATTEN down the hatches and not PAUSE to try to score
A mountaintop and wind means time has come to leave the floor
These guys need to pay heed to it…know when to leave the joint…
That last layup’s not worth it…there’s no further VANTAGE POINTS! 🏀
A little oddity caught me off guard this morning…Three of our four anagrams are repeats: SUPEA, VINGE, and VONPER. And we last saw BATTEN in January. So I guess we can say that our words today have definitely been bounced around before…
And as for our cartoon…Sure there’s VANTAGE POINTS to having that “great view”, but isn’t the air a little thin up there for playing? I would think that for Jordan lose their breath…Just look at that guy at right…he’s definitely having a much harder time scoring those points…Poor guy’s broken out into a sweat… I mean can you get a peak performance playing up there? Just thought I’d point that out…
Eye candy? The Eagle with that foul look upon his face? It definitely looks like he don’t like the interference…and as far as the Mountain Goat goes? I guess it’s ok for him to be that up close..as long as he don’t dribble on the court…Now that would be baaaa-d!
So, There you have it, Folks…Done. Wishing you all a good day…and remember…Stay well, stay safe, stay home. We don’t want to be called out for traveling…🏀🙋🏻♀️
🧱 Despite knowing it was PROVEN that learning to PAUSE every once in a while had it’s VANTAGE POINTS, he was in such a rush to unload all the BATTEN they had GIVEN him to deliver, that he just rushed right through…🧱
🤷🏻♀️ Considering it’s May Day, you’d think we would be outside,
But this year things are different…and we PAUSE to take in stride
That going out’s not GIVEN…not the freedom it was once,
The hatches we did BATTEN down..it’s like a one-two punch…
But staying in has PROVEN, that the virus has slowed down,
And hopefully soon we can smile and get rid of the frowns
We’ll be together once again…not feeling this disjoint…
Cause isolation’s wearing thin…despite its VANTAGE POINTS 🤷🏻♀️
Good morning. Another hit with your song choice and post Angela. More than I can say for myself. I had no problem with the words but failed two days in a row on the cartoon answer. From my vantage point,I drew a complete blank. All the words I came up with had a “C” in it. Finally decided it’s gloomy enough outside with all the rain we are having so I better see the answer so I can get on with other things. Until tomorrow stay well.
Good Morning, Paul. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. And I’m with you..it’s the weather. I’m having trouble concentrating today too..Major case of the blahs…Be well, Brooklyn. Stay safe. 🏀🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – Two things slowed me down a bit. First getting BATTEN and wondering if it also had something to do with clothing, but that turned out to be “cotton batting.” I wrote out the answer letters and saw POINTS and the remainder showed VANTAGE. I kind of recognized it, but it seemed odd as a single word; just haven’t heard it or the phrase much. Around here they’re called “Vista points”.
I think the goat does want to horn in on the game Angela, and my first thought was playing basketball in Denver.
Good wishes to all.
“The captain was PROVEN right to have GIVEN the order to BATTEN down the hatches without a PAUSE when the storm hit within the next five minutes.”
Horn in! 🐐 Good one! Be well, Steve. Stay safe…🏀🙋🏻♀️
Batten? Wasn’t even sure that was a word,but then I’m a math guy.Stay well.
LOL! Prof…Uh…how long are you going to play that Math card, anyway? 😉 I think you’re just pulling my leg… We just saw the word on January 9th…and you had no problem with it then. https://tinyurl.com/y8pvvxfz Maybe we’ll just chalk it up to the house arrest, huh? 😉 Be well, Professor. Stay safe. 🏀🙋🏻♀️
I too wasn’t sure about batten – “batten down the hatches” ? but the final solution really eluded me this morning. Had to look up the answer. It’s beautiful and sunny here today though quite windy. There are 60 new puzzles on the Jumble Crossword App so that will give me something to keep the brain working. Happy Friday to all.
I probably shouldn’t said this out loud, but we’re having a little respite right now…There’s sun!!! I doubt it’s going to last, but it is here…and welcomed. I thought batten could only be used as “batten down the hatches” too, until I saw that it also meant: “a long, flat strip of squared wood or metal used to hold something in place or as a fastening against a wall”. And then the more I thought of it, I think I remember knowing that…🤷🏻♀️ Today just seems to be a lot of thinking…too much blurred thinking…And yes! More puzzles. It seems like we’ve been waiting forever, right? I already did one of each of his puzzles today. I have 5 of his games loaded. 😱 With all this extra staying home, I have to lock up my iPad to keep myself from going through them all in one shot…Enjoy your beautiful weather, Betty…Be well and stay safe. 🏀🙋🏻♀️
My Giant Jumble Crossword update is messed up. It shows me the preview of the next “J” puzzle and says I’ve completed 110 of 120 (correct) but when I click to play it, it says “Puzzle Difficulty “M” and takes me to the next “M” section puzzle.
I hope David sees this and investigates.
Steve…I trust you’ve emailed him through the game, right? Better chance getting his attention that way….And you could try turning the iPad on and off…But don’t do anything rash…Remember when I told you that I lost my entire game and ALL MY POINTS? 😱😱🙋🏻♀️
I’m having the same problem, Steve. No matter which letter I select I get puzzle M and it’s the same puzzle over and over again. I know my brain is fuzzy but think there’s a problem with the App??
Betty…I just sent an email to Steve and David. It’s happening on all of my iPads too. There’s definitely a 🐜! 😱🙋🏻♀️
Hi Betty. David said they’re working on it. Too bad all our problems couldn’t be taken care of this easily…😔 Hang in there…it’ll be corrected soon. 🙋🏻♀️
Hi Betty. The corrected version is up, if you’re using an Android or an Apple device. If you’re using a Kindle, and playing through Amazon, then you’ll need to wait perhaps a day or so. The corrected version is 15.0, you’ll see it….Have a good night…🐜🤷🏻♀️
Well, batten was no problem for me. And I figured out the answer pretty quickly. Having no interest and little knowledge of basketball, however, I’m unsure how the phrase pertains. Oh well 😉
Hi Agnes. It doesn’t really pertain to Basketball per se. The POINTS does, as far as scoring in the game goes, the player stating “Three more, fifteen to twelve” ..and the VANTAGE refers to the exceptional sights from atop the mountain, “The views are great from here” …So I guess David just “saw” it as a Basketball reference. Was he thinking a tad out of the BOX? Perhaps….but let’s not go there…because then we’ll be dealing with Hockey! 😂 Thanks for commenting, Alice. Be well and stay safe. 🏀🙋🏻♀️
