Jumble Answers for 03/09/2020

Happy Monday Jumble friends!  I’m sure many of you collect souvenirs to help remind you of your travels.  Whether it’s bells, spoons or keychains, gift shops always seem to have a unique treasure or two that you can’t possibly live without.  My wife and I used to buy magnets, but we’ve recently transitioned to Christmas ornaments because our fridge was becoming too crowded and messy.  If you have a complete set of “something” from all 50 States, be sure to let us know about it in the comments section below!

All of our words were repurposed repeats and solved instantly upon first glance.  We’ve definitely seen NIHTK and SNITIS before, but other than that it was all fresh material.  After perusing the poll results, I tend to agree that GUAVA was tops in toughness.  Excellent choices to start the week, Mr. Hoyt!

Our gift shop seems to be somewhere in Idaho.  We know this because there’s a graphic representation of the 43rd State branded onto just about everything in the place!  In the case at the register we see a plate, a potato doll, coffee mug and spoon.  On the display stand to the right were four teddy bears and six stuffed animals.  The pig, lobster and flamingo were all easily identifiable, but the other three escaped me for whatever reason.

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 8-letters.  The store clerk ringing the bell was my big tip-off and I had no trouble seeing the answer hidden in the letters.  Definitely a delightful puzzle to start the week.  Have a magnificent Monday, and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow!

  1. Good morning. It’s a typical Monday start of the week. It was quick and easy to do. A good start for the rest of the week to come. Until tomorrow stay well.

  2. Hi Mike. Good Morning. The little stuffed toys are called TY Beanie Babies. You see them in a lot of the novelty/card stores. Next to the pig, going towards the left is their crab, a platypus, and something I’m not sure of…maybe the mouse or the moose. They’re collectibles, and some are worth ridiculous money. There’s a market for everything out there! 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • GM! I thought of that, but they don’t have the TY label on them which makes me think they’re more generic. Maybe it’s a copyright thing.

      • You could be right on both counts, especially the copyright thing…IDK. And your NO-BELL prize is a gem! Kudos!! 👏🏻👏🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. Good Monday morning all. Easy breezy puzzle this morning. When I travel, I always bring my children a Christmas ornament consistent with my destination. It’s fun to see them on their trees each year. Love the No-Bell prize.

  4. 🥝 I heard him INSIST that it was the GUAVA in the PANTRY causing the odor, and laughed when frustrated he asked the maid to RING IT UP, when I THINK he meant clean it up…🥝

🔨 You’d THINK that after all this time, the PANTRY would be done,
It has to be close to a year since all this work begun…
He sat and ate some GUAVA, and wondered what to do,
Perhaps INSIST the contractor give him a date that’s true
The kitchen being such a mess, he couldn’t take much more…
Then stood because he thought he heard a knock upon the door…
He started walking towards it… tripped on the contractors cup…
And knew the time had come to tell this guy to…RING IT UP 🔨

  5. Hi all – A pretty instant Monday solve. I thought AGAVE at first glance as in the tequila plant, but the letters showed GUAVA.

I saw the Idaho shape on the plate and cup, and the Idaho potato, but even online it took me a second look to see the state’s shape on the handle of the spoon and on the bell that she’s ringing. I was amused to see a lobstah in Idaho, but figured they must have flown him in. Angela, I thought the crab might have been a seal, and that the other toy was a duck but also could be a platypus as you said.
I actually have a couple of TY Beanie Babies, my favorite being a huge spider named “Spinner”:
The “Ty Collector” includes a poem:
“Does this spider make you scared?
Among many people that feeling is shared
    Remember spiders have feelings too
In fact, this spider really likes you!” 😂

    Have a great day, everyone.

“When he started to THINK about storing food long-term, he knew his wife would INSIST on a supply of GUAVA to make preserves for the PANTRY”.

    • Hi Steve. It could be a seal, I don’t know because we don’t have one, but it does look like the crabs that we have. (😉!) The platypus tho I’m pretty sure is a lock, because it’s facing downward like the ones we have are. The duck stands more upright…Too bad the kids have knocked them around so much…(they’re not pristine)…because the market for them is doing a whole lot better than my portfolio is today! 😱! Have a great day, Steve! 🔔🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. I loved the puzzle today, it was an easy one. My mother was a spoon collector from different countries and after closing up her house, after her passing I didn’t have the heart to toss them out. Thanks for the loving reminder.

    • Hi Jane. It’s good you kept your Mother’s spoons, and I wouldn’t get rid of them. One can always find a place for things. I too kept a lot of things that were my Mothers’. And now my nieces and nephews are asking if they can have some of them. The memories live on. Hope you’re enjoying your day. Be well! 🥄🙋🏻‍♀️
