Good Morning, Everyone!            🐈  TAIL..GATING! 🐈

🎶 So they say that you’re the hunter or you’re the prey…You can run away or you can show ’em how to be brave…I’m running into the fire…Falling into the flames turns me into the lion…I am a FELINE, FELINE...Fear the FELINE…🎶  “Feline” –  Delta Goodrem  2016

🐈 I think if I should ever see a scene like this one here,
Most likely I’d have imbibed a real HEFTY ‘mount of cheer…
Cats sitting in their cars…all SHINY with tops down,
But looking like no FINITE number just to go cross town…
A LEAGUE of all these furry sorts…it had to be the wine…
I’ll wake up soon and realize that there were no real “FEE LINES”.…🐈

So…Who programmed this? Cats? Again? Two days in a row? Are you kitten me? This can’t be right, can it? Is David trying to drive all the dog lovers away? This is almost as bad as that run of barnyard animal puzzles we had going on for a while …Remember that? Early 2018 I think? I need to check that out…But anyway…Give me a brake! I just hope this won’t be a permanent theme…Let’s keep tabbies on it, Folks…before things really get hairy

Ok, I’ve no new words to report this morning, we’ve seen both fives this past July, and both sixes from 2018, so we get an E-ZPass there…But we do have all fresh anagrams to work with, which I always think is purrfect. And it’s FINITE that caused a bit of a paws this morning…So…with no further ado, let’s get this show on the road…

Today’s tail centers around Cats on a Hot Tar Hoof…Well not really, no one’s hoofing it… quite the opposite, but I kind of scratched out all of my cat puns yesterday. So I’m feline exhausted, and a little catatonic and I think I’ve used up meowst of my good stuff…And I was sooo hoping there were 9 cats visible within the cars, ‘cause I was dying to make a canine pun…(not a nine lives one)!…But as luck would have it, there’s 11 cats showing, leaving me in a bit of a lousy pawsition…So I guess I’ll just cut to the chase…Cars full of cats, stuck in traffic going through the toll booths. And our Top Cat is overheard saying how he always picks the wrong lane…He’s on the longest LINE, to pay the FEE…And since this is all about cats driving in our cartoon today, he’s on a “FEE-LINE”…Short and sweet. The solution that is…not the line…

Eye candy? The two toll baskets at front have $$ on them…although they’re becoming a dying breed…and that first dark car at the right has tinted windows...But it’s the car with our Top Cat that holds the catnip this morning...The license plate reads “Meow”. The driver’s head rest is a cats paw with two talons showing…Gripping…But the pick of the litter has to be the mouse hanging from the rear view mirror…It’s cattivating…So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And here’s hoping that we’re all …🎶 FELINE GROOVY 🎶 today 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  1. Good morning. I enjoy doing this every morning because when you fail like I did yesterday there is always the next day to make a comeback. My choice for hardest word is Finite. Unable to get it I went to the cartoon answer and after a short while solved it and now knew the two letters to complete the jumble. It certainly makes up for yesterday’s loss. Until tomorrow stay well.

  2. After the hockey player had reached his FINITE number of infractions, the LEAGUE president levied a HEFTY fine on him and he, with his newly acquired SHINY black eye, was suspended for the next ten games.

    • Good Morning, Chuck. Great take…👏🏻👏🏻 An odd mix of words this morning, IMO…But you came through with a four goal game! Here’s to a great day! 🏒🙋🏻‍♀️

      • Only four goals? The Rangers’ Mika Zibanejad says “What’s the big deal?” 😂

        • LOL! …You know it was four goals for the four puzzle words…And please, please…let’s not talk about Mika…You know the Rangers don’t need much to jinx themselves..,🤞🏻🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. Hi Everyone –
Adorable drawing by Jeff, even though cats aren’t my favorite.
League was the one I struggled with, finally backing in.
    Wishing all a fun weekend.

    • We’re two for two, Caroline…Adorable drawing, but I too pass on the cats! Wishing you a wonderful day! 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  4. 🚗 Even though he knew that FINITE had to do with limits, and the whole idea was to get the cars SHINY, he still liked the name, and spent a HEFTY amount of time trying to come up with another one for the LEAGUE’s Car Washing campaign…but was exasperated when someone suggested “FEE LINE”instead of “Finite Bright”….🚗

👫🏻 His attributes were FINITE, she knew it from the start,
And yet he somehow still maintained a grip upon her heart…
Where others said he lived within a LEAGUE of all his own,
As time went by inevitably her feelings just had grown…
She knew she’d pay a HEFTY price if life should take a turn,
And things weren’t so SHINY…well then she would feel the burn…
But till that day she’d take a chance and hope things stayed sublime…
    If not…back to eHarmony…her old standby FEE-LINE 👫🏻

  5. Not to be catty but two days in a row with feline puzzles? Cats are not my favorite animal either. Struggled with yesterday’s cartoon answer but finally got it. Today was a breeze. Happy Saturday to all.

    • 👏🏻👏🏻Not to be catty! I love it! Good Morning, Betty…Well played! Yesterday vs today? See the mantra I left for Paul..😉 Have a great day, Betty! 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. Being a math guy,all the words, even finite were a quick solve as was the cartoon puzzle solution.Surpriingly,my paper was delivered early before 6:30 and our leaving to watch Kate and Jane play basketball in Dixon. So I was set for the puzzles.

    • Good Morning, Professor…I agree, it was all a quick solve…it’s the Cats that DROVE me crazy! 😂 Enjoy the game, Prof! Have a good one! 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. Hi all – No problem with the words. The double letter trick didn’t work with the E’s — or the I’s either! 😉 (The only double-I I can think of is Hawaii and that’s a proper name anyway). Couldn’t guess the answer until I wrote the letters; then it was obvious.

Yes Angela, I remember the run of barnyard animals — how about the run of paunches also? 😂 I liked ‘catatonic’ and ‘tail-gaiting’, and the mouse instead of fuzzy dice on the mirror was my favorite detail too.
There’s a comic strip called “Breaking Cat News”, and the cats sometimes watch a TV Soap Opera called “Our IX Lives”. 😂

If they’re “feeline groovy” that must be the road to the 59th Street Bridge, but the picture instantly reminded me of my year spent commuting from Chicago to Naperville which had toll lanes with those little baskets. One of my friends would get the exact change in pennies (I think it was 35 cents), dump them in and then accelerate to try to make the buzzer go off before it finished counting. (He was otherwise very normal, but we were all young and stupid at times.) When I first moved here, the absence of real toll road turnpikes where you have to stop and pay every few miles was surprising; there are very few if any here; just tolls at the bridges.

    Have a great day, everyone!

“Despite the FINITE revenue, the new knockoff football LEAGUE was able to provide a HEFTY SHINY trophy for its champions”.

    • Didn’t we do this once before? There’s waterskiing and shiitake mushrooms…and… “I” give up right now..I’m still recovering from CONTRACT! 😂😂 Good Morning, Steve.. Thanks for the Shout Outs. And you guys seem to be on a Sports roll with your sentences…👏🏻👏🏻…LEAGUE got to you both! 😉Have a great day, Steve! 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

    • PS…Oh yeah, the paunches…They were definitely front and center there for a stretch! 😉🙋🏻‍♀️
