CARTOON ANSWER:
THE TABLE MADE OUT OF MAHOGANY WAS PERFECT, JUST LIKE HE – – –
TEO KNW WOB EDI = KNEW IT “WOOD” BE
Good Morning, Everyone! 🚪 NICK TREE IS OURS!🚪
🎶 I’m not superstitious about ya…But I can’t take no chance..I got me spinnin’, Baby, you know I’m in a trance….’Cause your love is better than any love I know…It’s like thunder and lightning…The way you love me is frightening…You better knock, knock on WOOD…yeah you better knock on WOOD, Baby… 🎶…“Knock on Wood” – Eddie Floyd 1966
🚪 I’ve always loved to work with wood, so I can sure relate,
The TEMPO that builds steady as you sand that 6 by 8…
Mahogany is well KNOWN wood to make yourself a table…
It’s dark and rich and most of all it’s wood that’s always stable
You don’t want it to WOBBLE, and a warp will never do
You study grain, the TEDIUM’s well worth time it costs you…
And realizing when you’re done…that what was once a tree…
Is now your finished product just like you KNEW IT “WOOD” BE! 🚪
What did the Master Wood Artisan say when he was low balled on a project to build a table? …”I usually woodwork for more, but I walnut sand fir that”! …Too sappy? Well, I was just a little board as I logged on this morning…so I thought I’d start off with some Wood Humor for yew awl…No? Oaky…maybe knot…
So, Woodworking. A fine profession. And a true woodworker is an artist…possessing what we call the “hands of gold”. Just watching a professional from start to finish is truly an experience. But to be really good at it, it has to be ingrained in you…Plane and simple....
Todays words. Awl poplar old favorites, with TEDIUM showing up a few times in years past, going as far back as 11/26/11, and KNOWN having made the cut as recently as this past January 6th. And while most of us saw them all immediately, it was TEDIUM that left two of the Early Birds in the dust…they were stumped and saw Muted and Item instead…Ok..Let’s table this and move on to our cartoon…
Today we find ourselves in NICK’S workshop. His wife, TREE, (short for Teresa) is heard telling him how perfect his table turned out. And he, proud of his work, mentions that he loves working with Mahogany, since it always looks like a million bucks…And well it should…I mean it is a rich wood..,…literally…And as our question asks us…The table turned out to be perfect, just as Nick KNEW IT “WOOD” BE! Good one, David…YEW NAILED IT!
Oaky…Eye Candy. Let’s start at the root…Nick. It’s not that often that Jeff names his featured players, so it sands to reason that Nick is no run of the mill Jumble character. Wearing a green T-shirt reading “Tweedy”, (the name of an American rock band composed of Jeff Tweedy from the group Wilco and his son, Spencer), I have no idea who he might be, so I can’t elaborate. But I will say that if he hadn’t been named, I’d probably have dubbed him Chip. I like the wood shavings and the sawdust on the floor, and the mallet and red-handled woodworking chisel hanging on the wall. Same goes for the table vise…(why do I suddenly have an urge to burst out in song)? And ditto the circular saw blade over to the left. But if I was forced to put my cards on the table? If you look real closely, you’ll see that Nick’s wearing a dust mask. Gotta love that little touch of realism. Woodn’t be a Knurek cartoon without it. So, There yew have it, Folks! Done! Have a great day, Everyone…and I’ll leaf you with a bit of Woodworking Wisdom…
Woodworking is one-third planning, one-third execution, and one-third figuring out how to change your plan…to cover up that mistake that you just made during the execution…🚪🙋🏻♀️
🕺🏻Even though he KNEW IT WOOD BE a little hard not to WOBBLE while he tried to keep up with the TEMPO, the TEDIUM of the songs chorus was very well KNOWN to him…so it made it easier…🕺🏻
🤷🏻♀️ In life TEMPO’s important, it keeps us even keel,
Despite the TEDIUM at times, we need to keep it real…
Although sometimes we WOBBLE, it’s well KNOWN life goes on
And faltering is nothing bad, it’s not always a con…
Mistakes can be forgiven, they’re just part of destiny
No shame in trying over… long as we KNEW IT WOOD BE 🤷🏻♀️
Good morning. I was going to declare this day Monday when I breezed through the first three words but then I hit a brick wall with Tedium. Unable to come up with it I solved the cartoon answer and now had my three letters to get the last word. I had to double check to see if I was correct and checked it’s meaning. I know I never used it any conversations. Another clever answer. I wood say the boys are on a roll lately. Until tomorrow stay well.
Good Morning, Paul. You’re not alone…TEDIUM seems to be the stumper today. Hope you’re enjoying your morning, and I wish you a great day! 🚪🙋🏻♀️
I also had the cartoon solution without the solve of tedium.I guess I am a member of that ‘tedium’ crowd.
Hey Prof…Tedium crowd, indeed! It’s definitely the stumper of the day! Have a good one! 🚪🙋🏻♀️
Knot bad !
LOL! Nope, knot bad at all! Good one, Edward! Have a great day! 🚪🙋🏻♀️
Another vote here for tedium. I kept looking for a word that ended in ed so had to back into it after solving the cartoon. Wishing all of you a good day.
Hi Betty…This TEDIUM thing is making me BOARD! 😉 Wishing you a great day too! Enjoy! 🚪🙋🏻♀️
Angela: The puzzle today was Friday Lite. Thanks for the break and have a great weekend.
Hi Jane. Friday Lite! I like it! And I WOOD love to take credit for the easy breeziness of it all, but it’s none of my doing! But we’re happy here to share the jumbling with you! Wishing you a great weekend too! And thank you for commenting! 🚪🙋🏻♀️
Hi all – TEMPO took an extra look. Then when IUM is present, I always try it at the end expecting an element like ‘sodium’, but it worked fine for TEDIUM also.
Two thoughts – with a name like that I’m glad he didn’t “nick” the finish as he was completing the job, and I’m not surprised that it looks like a million bucks because wouldn’t that much mahogany *cost* about a million bucks nowadays?
Have a great day, everyone! Made me laugh with the nice pun on “edelweiss”, Angela. (Saw it before I realized it was a link.)
“The audience’s TEDIUM at listening to the aging diva’s KNOWN random TEMPO changes became even more evident when her pitch also began to WOBBLE”.
Hey Steve…WOOD you believe I couldn’t get that Edelweiss out of my head? And I don’t even like the song! 😂 Have a great day, Steve. 🚪🙋🏻♀️
So…Eli. Just a shout out to one of the greats of the game. A gentleman, always…on and off the field. NY tips it’s cap, Eli. We thank you, and we wish you all the best … 🏈❤️🙋🏻♀️ https://tinyurl.com/rvwuyot
