CARTOON ANSWER:
WITH THE DOGS GETTING ALONG SO WELL TOGETHER, GOING FOR A STROLL WAS A – – –
KN WRL AA PIK = WALK IN THE PARK
Happy Monday Jumble friends! The answer to the cartoon pretty much sums up my feelings about today’s puzzle. It wasn’t a total gimme, but it was dang close! If you had any trouble working the words my calculation is that you took issue with ABACUS. I actually had no problem with it and saw it immediately. It was our most recently used word but in all fairness it has given me delay in the past. All of the solved words were repeats but WONNK has been used before.
Our cartoon had a cast of 5 Jumble characters and a city park was used as the setting. The two women talking about the dogs served as the primary focus of the panel while the remaining three played supporting roles. It’s not clear if our duo of dog walkers are performing a service or simply trudging about with their personal pooches. Either way the pups are being on their best behavior and they’re making the chore of exercising them seem effortless.
The women appear to be wearing the same exact clothing but Jeff altered the necklines of their shirts ever so slightly to provide some individuality. And you couldn’t miss the NY Yankees hat being worn by the woman on the right which makes me believe the setting is probably New York’s Central Park. I really enjoyed the tall buildings in the background and they truly gave the drawing a sense of height and dimension. Jeff could have easily left the space blank but the 4 buildings really made the whole park piece pop!
The final solve was an anagram consisting of 10-letters. The cartoon sentence coupled with the beautifully rendered park drawing made the answer an instant solve. Since the answer flowed so freely I almost forgot to mention that David gave us THE as an additional clue.
Speaking of Mr. Hoyt, he graciously posted a video greeting for us in yesterday’s comments. He revealed an interesting nugget of information about his upcoming puzzles so make sure you watch to know what to look for! Have a magical Monday, and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow.
Good Morning, Mike and Everyone! How DOGgone easy was this?
🎶 WALKIN’ the dog…Just a-WALKIN’ the dog…If you don’t know how to do it, I’ll show you how to WALK the dog (Whistle)…C’mon now, c’mon, c’mon!…”Walkin’ The Dog” – Rufus Thomas 1963 https://tinyurl.com/o2mqhrw
🐶 In big cities it’s quite well KNOWN…a common sight is this,
Professional Dog Walkers…but it’s not always such bliss
There’s money to be made here…an ABACUS you don’t need
To total up how lucrative is business of the “breeds”…
I know a woman such as she that we see here today
And living in NY she had WORLD-renowned folks who paid…
And except for random squirrels and a PICKET line or two
Her business “Please Releash Me” helped her money def accrue
So here we see our Yankee fan, sweet sounds to her the barks…
With business and pleasure a mix…it’s a WALK IN THE PARK! 🐶
…And how FETCHing do our girls look? Smiling, stylish…BREEDing in the clean crisp air, while PAWSing here and there, allowing the seemingly very well-behaved clients a chance to find the PAWfect SPOT to FURther their POOrusing? A cartoon definitely FLEASing on the eyes…Have a great Monday, Everyone! 🐶🙋🏻♀️
🤷🏻♂️ KNOWN to always be on the lookout for vintage finds from around the WORLD, he was thrilled to find the ABACUS, but with the shop employees on strike, he dreaded crossing the PICKET line…and realized that acquiring this rare find wasn’t going to be a WALK IN THE PARK…🤷🏻♂️
🧮 They were studying Math’s background, an ABACUS on the slate,
It was KNOWN to be quite valuable, it’s use was proven great
Adopted all around the WORLD, it became quite the ticket…
Push come to shove with ancient Math…a choice? They’d surely PICKET…
So interesting its’ background…counting came out of the dark,
And gave birth to how numbers became a WALK IN THE PARK 🧮
WONNK? I’m surprised they would come up with something like that. It sounds like “wank”, for which the German is “wichsen”. The researchers at GSI finding new chemical elements at their facility at Wixhausen, Germany did not name an element wixhausium for that reason. Oh well, they did come up with ZORRA earlier (= RAZOR), despite its off-color meaning in Spanish. Also Jumbles are supposed to have pun or double meanings, but I see only one meaning to WALK IN THE PARK.
Good morning. You were right Angela about this one being a walk in the park. Actually IT was more of a sprint than a walk. The cartoon answer was an instant solve and even Caaubs (Abacus) never slowed me down because I had it imbedded in my brain not to be fooled this time around. Maybe the blueberries in my cereal helped. Until tomorrow stay well.
Hey Brooklyn…Yep, it definitely was a gift! Hope you had a great “Little Christmas” …another Holiday Season put to bed! Have a great night! 🙋🏻♀️
Definitely a walk in the park, even abacus for this old math prof.Have a great holiday free week.
Our forecast called for snow but it looks like we were spared. Now I can walk my dog on dry pavement instead of in a wintry mess! And no holidays is a welcomed change of pace. Enjoy the start to your week, Chuck!
Hi all – Another easy one, just a slight second look at KNOWN.
Maybe they figured that with an answer like WALK IN THE PARK, he would make the puzzle one for us.
Have a great day, everyone!
Off to an easy start this week. Like everyone else, no problem here with either the words or the cartoon. Happy Monday to all.
