Good Morning, Everyone!        🐦 ZOOM…WITH A VIEW🐦

🎶 Into a cabaret one fatal day…A little songBIRD flew…Found it so very gay he thought he’d stay…Just to get a BIRD’S EYE VIEW…🎶 “Little Jazz Bird” – Maureen McGovern 1989 https://tinyurl.com/y6stctlk

🐦 Birds of a feather flock together…BETTER for them I guess,
The strength in numbers holds true too, when one’s building a nest…
Away from all the WINDY spots, or WICKED birds of prey…
Communities are built upon the right branch where to lay…
While some birds carry VIRUS I’m sure they all can tell,
A bird would want to stay away from this neighbor from hell…
I guess the bottom line is, they’re just like me and you…
Location is important…and so is that BIRD’S EYE VIEW 🐦

Today, once again, all four of our words are old favorites, but none of them have been repeated that often. WINDY (’16) and BETTER (’17) have only appeared once before, while WICKED was used twice, once in ’16 and once in ’17. VIRUS has been seen three times in the past, most recently as RISVU, on 11/01/18...All of our anagrams are new, and except for the slightest tic at BETTER, none of today’s words had the Early Birds up a tree…no pun intended!

And speaking of UP A TREE…Today we find ourselves OUT ON A LIMB…literally. Sitting atop a prime PERCH of Real Estate, we see three Eagles: a Real Estate Agent, and a couple looking for a new home. The BRANCH they’re being shown looks really nice and AERIE, and our couple is very pleased with what they SEE…he looking above, she below..It’s the perfect place. So, to SUMMIT all up, they especially liked the…BIRD’SEYE VIEW! Good one, David…Once again, you SOAR!

Ok, eye candy. Seeing the background of snow-capped mountains, and the ground blanketed with fir trees, we can really appreciate the HEIGHT…I mean length to which Jeff’s gone with his panel today. Ok, LET’S see…There’s a small brown wooden sign reading “Build to Suit” hanging from the branch. And I’m TALON you, from the happy looks on our couple’s faces, you can definitely tell that they’ll be happy NESTled into their new place. The women, at left, has her top feathers neatly combed, while the male sports a more FEATHERed look. He’s far from BALD. But what caught my EAGLE EYE this morning? If you ZERO IN, you can see that the woman has her WING draped affectionately around her mate’s shoulder…They SOARly have a CLAWS relationship! So, There you have it, Folks…Done! Have a great day, Everyone…And may we all 🎶FLY LIKE AN EAGLE🎶…https://tinyurl.com/yyjyg9el   Steve Miller Band 1976 🐦🙋🏻

  1. Good morning. My choice for hardest word was VIRUS. Took an extra minute to get. The cartoon answer took about five minutes to get. I saw right away view, thinking that was the first word. Arranging the remaining letters had me starring when that light bulb went off and the answer appeared. Another cleaver finish for the guys. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Good Morning, Brooklyn. Totally agree, cute and clever and pretty breezy after y’days answer ruffled a lot of feathers! Glad you got it done! Have a great day, Paul! 🐦🙋🏻

  2. Well, this morning it’s snowing and I thought we were done. Used today’s words to make note of signs of warmer weather. Puzzle jumped right out at me unlike others this week. Forthwith, my humble submission.

The conditions were WINDY on this fine day
I hoped for no fever passing the field of hay
I sneeze quite easily and the sounds are quite WICKED
I sped up my car and hoped for no ticket.
To avoid sinus issues that plague like a VIRUS
Radio blasting to Billy Joe Cyrus
Could be the music, could be the speed could be the rain with top down much wetter
200 yards farther and I’m feeling much BETTER

    • ROTFL! Good Morning, Jim, you have me heartily laughing! I always say that as a writer, I know how much more difficult it is to write a humorous piece than it is a serious one. And you’ve done extremely well here! 👏🏻👏🏻 Kudos, Sir! .Thank you! .And I think I should tell you that since you mentioned your daughter’s Bolognese sauce the other day, it’s been calling my name constantly! I was out to dinner at a friends house that night and Thursday I had already committed to chicken parm…and of course with yday being a day of abstinence…no go, so it brings us to today. And I’m making it for lunch! I’m smiling already! 😂 Snow on the Cape..yes, I heard. Marzo è pazzo, right? So true. We only bad rain, but we’re battling winds here that are out of control. The temp’s standing at a wind chill of 14°. Crazy is right! 😂 And I too found the puzzle to be a piece of cake…(can you tell I’m especially hungry today)? 😉 It’s a cute one! Thanks again for your far from humble submission…Have a good day, Jim. Stay dry! ❄️❄️🙋🏻

  3. This one was a giveaway. The apostrophe and the dash led me straight to the cartoon answer first. It could not be a contraction since contractions don’t fit grammatically with “they liked the” which seems to demand a noun or noun phrase. But it is an ideal place for a possessive. Hence ‘S. Then what’s a four-letter word that possesses? The cartoon provides it: BIRD. Bird’s what? Three letters. BIRD’S-EYE, leading straight to the cartoon answer. The words were all fairly easy; the facetious alternative REBETT (the sound a frog makes) did not interfere with making it BETTER. In any case, WICKED WINDY weather is certainly BETTER for VIRUSes than for people, and we had some pretty wicked weather yesterday, mainly high winds.

    • Good Morning, Jim. Definitely a giveaway! A gift! I too do the cartoon first, and the solve just FLEW right off the page, IMO. I found it an amusing little use of an everyday phrase. And you? Nice segue into using today’s words…👏🏻👏🏻 Very nice! I didn’t have time to do so yet this morning, but it’s such a fun exercise. I enjoy doing it with a clean canvas, as compared to the piece I do in the post, where I’m forced to keep within the puzzles’ theme. Well not forced, but you catch my drift. Anyway, I think I’ll give it a shot…And the weather? I don’t know where you are, but your winds from yday are here on Staten Island, NY today! Brutal. I’m looking out my door, and there’s tree limbs scattered everywhere…and I can hear the trash cans rolling down the street! Trow? We’re promised sun and 60! Crazy March! Wishing you a great day, Jim! 🐦🙋🏻

  4. Good Morning, Chuck B….(Good Morning, Paul😉)…Here’s what I’m LAYING down this morning…🐦🙋🏻

° They always called her WICKED, the criticism harsh,
In the WINDY little village that they lived in near the Marsh..
Accused of singly causing the VIRUS that hit town…
That slowly, but so surely brought a lot of people down…
If only they knew BETTER, that the Mayor caused the coup…
But no, he sits there proudly looking from his BIRD’S EYE VIEW

° With a BIRD’S-EYE VIEW of the city, the Meteorologist saw that the WICKED heat, co-mingled with the overly WINDY air, was a perfect recipe for the VIRUS to spread, and it’d be weeks before any of those stricken could even begin to feel BETTER…

    • Hi, Angela.Hope your day is going okay.l like your meteorologist bit! Have a great weekend!!

      • Hey Chuck…Tks! I got weather on my mind with all these tree limbs blowing past my windows! And yes, my day”s going very well, as I hope yours is also! 🐦🙋🏻

  5. Hi Everyone –
No problems today. I hope the birds pick a good spot, since I recently read how enormous Bald Eagles’ nests can become after the addition of new material year after year.

    • Good Morning, Caroline. Yes..a break today, after that bit of a stumper y’day! I agree, a big nest is right..And that’s before any EGGcessories! Just the size of the eagles alone. They’re huge! Location, location, location! 😂 Enjoy your day, Caroline! 🐦🙋🏻’

  6. Because of the WICKED WINDY weather, the boy’s mother decided it was BETTER for him to spend the day indoors as to help prevent his picking up a VIRUS.

    • Good Morning, Chuck. We missed you! Very well said! 👏🏻👏🏻 I found these to be pretty good words to work with…The WICKED went so well with the WINDY, as did BETTER with VIRUS. Some days things just FLY right! 😉 Hope you didn’t get hit with the snow! 🐦🙋🏻

  7. Never heard the term before…

    build to suit

A way of leasing property, usually for commercial purposes, in which the developer or landlord builds to a tenant’s specifications. The landowner pays for the construction to the specifications of the tenant, and the tenant then leases the land and building from the landowner, who retains ownership. Build to suit is frequently used by tenants who wish to occupy a building of a certain type but do not wish to own the building.

    • Hi Clay. Good Morning. Kudos! You’re always on TOP of things! I’m slapping myself up side the head because I meant to include a link in with my post after I mentioned the sign…but I got side-tracked. BIRD Brain! I know of it, since I have friends in construction. But isn’t it amazing how one can learn all these new things by merely playing the Jumble? …And I guess this pair of Eagles just don’t want to feel tied down…You know…PECK up and FLY the coop if the WANDERlust hits! 😂 Have a great day, Clay! 🐦🙋🏻

  8. A surprisingly easy puzzle this morning, with only better looking like beret. Our paper delivery person got our papers delivered before 6:30 this morning, which was actually late for her,but still beat our 6:30 departure for Dixon and twin watch duty.No snow here, but another Spring like day here!

    • 🎶On the Road AGAIN.? .🎶 Maybe I should start calling you Willie Nelson! Enjoy the kids, enjoy the weather, Professor! Have a good one! 🐦🙋🏻

  9. Hi all – It’s really nice to see so many people chiming in on a Saturday morning!
Really easy puzzle today. Only the third word took a little extra, going BEETER – BEER – BETTER.

Angela, I’m surprised you didn’t say it was “Easy, Breezy” as you often do. Maybe you’re just trying not to think about the wind. And “nice and AERIE” made me laugh! Very appropriate song too, which I never heard.

    Have a great day, everyone!

🎵”Who’s peekin’ out from under a stairway
Calling a name that’s lighter than air
Who’s bending down to give me a rainbow
    Everyone knows it’s WINDY
And WINDY has stormy eyes That flash at the sound of lies
And WINDY has wings to fly Above the clouds “🎵

    • Hey, G…Well, I did say breezy to Paul early this morning…and the thing is by the time I write the post, I’ve already face-timed and texted and spoken with all the Early Bird crew, and we’ve already beaten “easy breezy” to death by then. And actually…there’s no mention in the puzzle about a breeze of any kind per se..So, IDK if it really called for it…Yes, Tks..AERIE was a good fit, I chuckled too…The song…I’ve seen her perform a few times. In concert, and in these small bistro type clubs in the city. I think she’s grossly under rated. She did an album of Gershwin tunes. You should check it out on YouTube. She has amazing range, her pitch is perfect, and she maintains unbelievable breath control IMO. Did you hear how she actually had her voice sounding like a flute? Who does that? Not an easy undertaking I’m sure, by no means…And as for the wind…it’s ripping out here…and anything and everything that’s not nailed down is FLYING! I really get neevous with winds like this…I’m surrounded by too many big old trees…🐦🙋🏻

      • Her voice imitating a flute is amazing, thanks! I also like how the arraignment keeps switching keys throughout the song. 🙋🏻‍♂️

        • I know right? A flute! ..As for the arrangement…It’s Gershwin, Steve. What more can we say? 😉🙋🏻
