Good Morning, Everyone!               ๐Ÿ•น PLAYING FOR TIME ๐Ÿ•น

๐ŸŽถ Many a tear have to fall…But it’s all in the GAME..All in the wonderful GAME, that we know as love…๐ŸŽถ “All in the Game” – Tommy Edwards 1958 https://tinyurl.com/y7hj9dwx

๐Ÿ•น When Gamers sit to play a game, they never give a thought,
To what went on behind the scenes to make this game they bought…
The hours spent that turn GARISH, the GOSSIP ‘mong the crew,
‘Bout who is working up to par and who’s not earned his due.
The FUTURE of these games depends on coders sitting tight,
And taking on the STIGMA of the ones who work all night…
Perhaps a MULLET haircut, perhaps a crew-cut dude,
Behind the scenes they’re all WORTHY..and there’s no time to feud…
So when a deadline’s looming, and it’s time that they must cram…
It won’t go well unless they all can GET WITH THE PROGRAM…๐Ÿ•น

From what I can see this morning, we may have another new word with GARISH. The others, all Sweet Repeats, with GOSSIP appearing for the 8th time, and STIGMA the 9th. And none of the past anagrams are the same as today’s! Now that’s some really good enCODING! And rumor has it that GOSSIP is our most recent return, having appeared this past October 21st, while MULLET was only HAIR once before, way back in 2015…What slowed down the PROGRAMMING this morning? There were tics on everything except WORTHY…TRY HOW they might…each of the first 5 words made almost all the Early Birds take a second look…But being a far from LAZY group..they unCODED them all without a GLITCH!

This morning we see two bearded, disheveled BROGRAMMERS working on an UPDATE. But these HACK STREET BOYS seem to be having a PROBLEM. With the diaLOG telling us that a deadline is looming, we see that our PROGRAMMER at left is working HARD..DRIVEing forward, while the one at right is playing with his phone, drinking some soda, and not caring a bit. His “HUH” response, so dismissive, is probably making our worker bee SEE RED. From the look on his face, I bet he’s thinking…”BYTE me”…or maybe “I’ll give you Huh..I’d like to RAM something down your throat”! Or maybe even playing with some acronyms in his head like…”ISDN…It Still Does Nothing“! But if he said any of that out loud, I’m sure our slacker would probably just say..”Gimme a <br>”, or maybe even “Stop BOOLEAN me”! It’s not an ideal situation, and nothing seems to be CLICKING with these two, no matter how you CODE it…But the bottom line is…The THINKER needs the DRINKER to…GET WITH THE PROGRAM! ACUTE one David!…Just for the HACK of it!

Ok, eye candy…Once again, we have a purple shadowed panel. Our guy at front is holding a SUPER SODA, with a straw while he’s engrossed with his phone. The key word being GROSS. Looking pretty shoddy, with his unkempt hair and beard, one wonders what he might look like if he really CHIPped in and did some work…There’s an image of what I believe to be a JOYSTICK on his navy T-Shirt. Too bad he’s not a little bit more in CONTROL of his time though, huh?…Our serious CODER, looking so agitated, is seen as the MAIN (part of the) FRAME, and on his screen we can see a DATA listing, and the UPDATE that he’s working on. It may very well be an UPDATE for the JUST JUMBLE APP, because a cartoon is showing, with both Jeff and David pointing to a Jumble Puzzle in a newspaper. Seeming to be terribly upset, they’re speaking to one another, but I can’t DECIPHER the wording at all. We also see Jeff’s rescue dog Gizmo standing near. I’m making that Cartoon my candy today, because I can’t help but wonder if it’s one we’ve seen before…or something Jeff’s making us privy to for the FUTURE…Maybe Jeff’ll give us an UPDATE! So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And keep in mind…CODE hands…Warm heart…๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

And to Everyone celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany today, Little ๐ŸŽ„Christmas, the Day of  La Befana, Salute! ๐ŸทTanti Baci! โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’‹

  1. Future gave me reason to pause, but the rest of the words came quickly with a momentary tick on garish.Final solution also was no problem with the 3 and 4 letter words.Maybe being home with a real, paper helped.

    • Or maybe you’re just getting better and better at this? Good Morning, Professor. It was a pretty easy go if it, with the answer being a give away. Saw it immediately..Cute, and clever. Have a good one, Prof. Rest up for that next road trip! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • Indeed next road trip is a planned midweek one,for a change,to Naperville to take grandkids to school in the morning to cover for our son’s work schedule change, due to the government shutdown.

  2. Easy Sunday morning for me. I wrote spigot instead of GOSSIP but found my mistake once I got the answer. Fun song choice, Angela.

    • Good Morning, Caroline! Glad you TAPped into the right word! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Especially before people started talking)! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yes, I’m with you. Easy, breezy one today, and with some really obscure words to BOOT! I really had to think about how I was going to bring them altogether to WRITE my poem! Thanks for the Shout Out, I’m glad you enjoyed my music choice. It’s a great oldie…It seems there was so much romance in music back in the ’50s, right? I love listening to those old records…Hope you gave a great day, Caroline! ๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  3. Future is the word that gave me pause this morning other than that no problem. Rainy here today but thankful for that because we need it so. Happy Sunday everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty. I think FUTURE seems harder than it should be because of David’s placement of the 2 Us together. It sort of throws the eye off, IMO. And it seems to be the word that caused the most second guessing this morning. I heard about the rain early this morning before I left for Mass, and I lit a candle for you all out there…Let’s hope you get enough to help, and not too much to do further damage. Wishing you a great Sunday, and Happy Befana! ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  4. Good morning. The only word that gave me cause to pause was Garish. When playing around with the letters I actually had it made on my second try. But,I never recognized it as a real word and kept on trying to come up with another one. Finally I gave up and double checked all my words and found out I actually had it an hour ago. The cartoon answer was another clever one and almost an instant read. Angela, you really picked a winner with your song choice today. Another really great one. Your poem and puns were a joy to read. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • Nothing wrong with second guessing and/or double checking, but you, Brooklyn need to have more faith in yourself. You’ve been doing so well…Thanks for the Shout Outs, and I knew you’d love the music. I thought of you this morning when I chose it. Hope you have a great day, Brooklyn! Ciao, Bello! ๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  5. Hi all – Saw the answer without needing the dialogue – I guess Iโ€™ve been there, done that, probably from both sides at different times. Saw TROPHY, but the absence of the letter โ€˜Pโ€™ showed WORTHY. Baffled by MULLET (saw MUTUEL and TUMULT) and FUTURE, but saw both as soon as I wrote down the letters.

I have a default organic natural mullet, caused by the fact that my hair has always been long, but then went bald in front and on top!

โ€œGame we BOUGHTโ€? How quaint! The gamers expect all this stuff for free, and then COMPLAIN about it! ๐Ÿ™„

A good day yesterday for football teams beginning with โ€˜Cโ€™ – Colts and Cowboys. Does this bode well for the Chargers and Chicago? Stay tuned.

Have a great Sunday, everyone. Angela, Have Yourself a Merry โ€œLittle Christmasโ€.

    • Hey G…I don’t think anyone even blinked at today’s answer, even those of us who never PLAYED a game in our lives. The phrase has become so mainstream, that you hear the kids saying it as well as the older crowd. I think it’s just been PROGRAMMED into the LOOP! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And funny about MULLET. I was surprised to see that it had been used before, and then a word like WOMAN y’day makes its’ first appearance. Go FIGURE! Ah, the hair…Something that we for the most PART have no CONTROL over… Some people just COBOL! And your comment made me think of a LINE that I think you’d appreciate…Old PROGRAMMERS never die…they just can’t C as well! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Have a great day, Steve! ๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

      • Ha, canโ€™t โ€˜Cโ€™ as well, thatโ€™s for sure! Iโ€™ll give you a ++ for that. At least I havenโ€™t joined the UNIX yet! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

        • UNIX? Perish the thought! (I soooo wanted to use another word)! ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜‰ Just make sure you stay on top..๐Ÿ˜‰ and keep CONTROL of that!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚And of course, WORK hard at keeping your MEMORY sharp too…๐Ÿ˜‰ You know I thought to make an NTP joke…the TIMING seemed PERFECT…but I just WROTE it off! And Thanks for the a ++…I CODE always use the HIGH five! Ok…I think if I have a KERNEL of sense left, I’ll grab a cup of JAVA, and rest a little before this last big meal on SCHEDULE for today…I really don’t think I can handle another BYTE! (Is that the proper SYNTAX? Once in a while I think I destroy the LANGUAGE)! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Here’s to you, Steve! Tanti Baci! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

    • …And Thank You for the Little๐ŸŽ„Christmas wish, G…Sorry, I was KEYING too fast…I wish you could celebrate with us…DATA really make me happy! Wishing you a Merry day too, Steve! Enjoy! ๐Ÿ•น๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป

  6. DAVID: Just in case you peek in here? Your SEE AND SOLVE today may very well be one of your most cleverest yet!
If anyone’s interested, pull up DAVID L HOYT on Facebook. Each week he publishes a rebus puzzle called SEE AND SOLVE, that taxes your brain just enough to make it worth the time you’ll spend trying to decipher it. They’re great puzzles! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป
