CARTOON ANSWER: VOTING TO RAISE PRICES MORE THAN 500 PERCENT, THE SELFISH BUSINESS PEOPLE – – –

DGE   EL   AR   AL   =   ALL “A-GREED”

Good Morning, Everyone!           💰💰  THE “I’s” HAVE IT 💰💰

🎶 MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY…MONEY...Some PEOPLE got to have it, Some PEOPLE really need it…Listen to me why’all, do things, do things, do bad things with it. You want to do things, do things, do things…Talk about CASH MONEY, MONEY...Talk about CASH MONEY-DOLLAR BILLS...why, y’all…🎶  “For The Love of Money” – The O’Jays  1973     https://tinyurl.com/hhgzakb

💰 Sitting ’round a table, a NUDGE, and then a smile…
We’re looking at the One-Percent that DWELL along the aisle.
Where Money goes where Money grows, a FAIRLY well-known thought,
And those of us not in that class? We know what can’t be bought…
We shake our AUBURN-toned heads…prices causing us to bleed,
Because the One-Percenters sat around and ALL “A-GREED”!💰

Feeling like a Monday…In more ways than one…With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day behind us, I don’t know about you, but to me, it feels like Monday. And then looking at our puzzle today…the feeling continues! With all of our words being Sweet Repeats and easily deciphered, the MOVE on to our answer solution was an easy one too…and all of the Early Bird Jumblers A-GREED! We’re seeing NUDGE today, for the 5th time, and it also comes in as our most recently used word, having appeared on February 7th. DWELL stands as our oldest, having first been used back in December of 2015. AUBURN, solved with the slightest bit of a tic, caused a pause…but it was a very tiny pause, nowhere near 500 %!…while FAIRLY, similar to our word Family from y’day, relied on the oft-used “LY” as an ending solution…And I wondered if we’d had two such similar words on back-to-back days before…And this is one of those odd ruminations that often BUILD up in my mind early in the morning, and COST me sleep! I think I definitely need to reappRAISE my priorities…I VOTE for more sleep in the coming New Year! Ok…Let’s MOVE on to our cartoon…

Today, we’re brought into a Board Room, where we see five Executives proposing to RAISE prices 500 percent! 500 %! Gives you HALF a mind to acCOST them and ask…”Are you kidding me? This is total nonCENTS“! But, unFORTUNEately, this is how it too often GROWS in Big Business…where their “IN THE BLACK” often makes us see RED! Anyway…Between the dialogue and the key word SELFISH in our question? We easily ALL “A-GREED” on today’s answer…Good one, David…HooRAISE! HooRAISE!

Ok, eye candy…Silhouetted black city skyline, floor to CEILING windows…Black granite-topped table, with four black chairs and a brown one for our main Man of the DOUR. Everyone very well dressed, RICHly-colored, (black, gray, purple, red, blue), SUITing  their POSITIONS…which are all the same…Hands RAISED! MORE MONEY! The eye candy? Maybe our blonde woman at left…The ornate hanging earrings and the three-ringed bejeweled fingers?…(I think they’re JADEd)?…I guess no one’s ever told her that LESS is MORE, huh? So, There you have it, Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone!…And I feel it always PAYS to remember, that MONEY..🎶Can’t Buy Me Love🎶! 💰🙋🏻

  1. Hi Everyone –
Though the answer was short, I didn’t get it right away. I found ALL by looking for three-letter words and using the double letter trick. It was easy from there.
    Might these be pharmaceutical executives?

    • Hi Caroline…Good Morning…And ALL in ALL a really good pun, right? 😉 I enjoyed this one. Funny, yes, I thought like you, and thought to write it in…but I’ve been so vocal about them in the past, and MED more than my share of comments back in July, when we had the “ILL-GOTTEN GAINS” puzzle, that I just didn’t want to bring DOSE things up again! 😂 So, I did my damage in my poetry! 😂 But, it could very WELL BE. But then aGAIN, I suppose it could be any😉 Big Business…Have a great day, Caroline! 💰🙋🏻

      • Dose things made me laugh, Angela. I agree it could be a lot of businesses, but pharma’s prices have had some bad consequences.

        • Tks, I made myself laugh too, Caroline…although it’s so far from funny. The pharmaceutical companies are totally out of control. And this isn’t “goods” we’re talking about here, it’s the difference between life and death in some cases. It’s very sad. And what that cretin Pharma Bro did? I hope he’s enjoying his incarceration..(Don’t even get me started)! 😤 Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy…🙋🏻

  2. With the multiple a’s and L’s all was a given quickly followed by a-greed.Nudge was my problematic word of the day as it was looking like ‘guned’.I’m still on the road so the online version served me well.

    • Hey Professor.Good Afternoon. I didn’t see guned, but now that you’ve mentioned it, it’s TRIGGERing the thought…I feel the on-line version is a God-send, especially when you enlarge the panel..I love it. Hope you’re enjoying your time away, Prof…🙋🏻

  3. Hi all – I also got FAIRLY from its similarity to yesterday’s FAMILY, and saw AUBURN both from Don Henley’s lyric (“Gaze out at the auburn sky”), and the town on interstate 80 in the Sierra foothills that was once a capital of California (and used to be named “Hangtown”.) Wrote the letters and saw ALL and then the answer.

Great songs both, Angela. Guess I’ll have to quote Pink Floyd’s “Money” again, both because of the subject and because it and the O’Jays song have great introductions:
🎵”Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash…
I’m all right Jack, keep your hands off of my stack.”🎵

    Have a great day everyone!

    • Hey G…AUBURN took ALL that? Phew! COLORful, but that’s a big tic…I just go by the color on my L’Oreal box! 😂😂 Yes, Tks…I think they’re both really good pieces of music too. But Pink Floyd? I’d have to fight you on the Pink Floyd, G. No way their 🎶Money🎶 Intro even comes close to 🎶For the Love of Money🎶’S…🤔 That bass can not be be touched…Hope you’re having a good one…💰🙋🏻

  4. I thought AUBURN was the hardest to decipher. I kept seeing URBANE. GREED is usually the downfall of us ALL!!

    • Hi Chuck…Good Afternoon. Love the word Urbane..but obviously it didn’t fit HAIR..😂 Whenever I hear the word GREED, till this day, I always think back to my Catholic school training, and how they drummed the 7-deadly sins into us…A lot of drama with that Big Seven! LOL…But you do have a point…Greed can be defined a lot of different ways…Hope you’re having a good one, Chuck! 💰🙋🏻

  5. Just finished yesterday’s and today’s puzzles. No problem with either one. I agree with the greed the the pharmaceutical industry. Their price gouging for medications such as the Epi pen is a disgrace. Hope all of you who celebrate it had a happy Christmas. I’m in the recovery mode today. Happy Wednesday (Boxing Day) everyone.

    • Good Morning, Betty. Good to see you. Yes, they were both good puzzles…The price gouging? Disgrace hits the bail right on the head..Good choice of word…It literally is a crime…Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and thanks for your well wishes. I’m still coasting..The recovery mode’ll come after New Year begins!😂 Happy Boxing Day to you too! 💰🙋🏻
