Happy Wednesday morning everyone!  We’re at the middle of the week and the puzzles are getting progressively harder, so let’s break this one down and see what we had today.  UPEND didn’t come at first glance, but as soon as I formed UP, the rest fell right into place.  As I wrote it down, I thought for sure it was going to be the stumper of the day.  WOBBLE was a piece of cake and then I ran into a major roadblock with GYRATE.  For the first couple of minutes I tried to figure it out by staring it and tried making different letter combinations in my head but nothing seemed to work.  As my frustration grew, I decided that it was time to blow the dust off my trusty notepad and put it to good use.  On my twelfth attempt of self-jumbling the letters, I had formed RATEGY and that’s when I finally saw the solution.  I don’t recall having this much trouble with a single word in such a long time and it was great to finally feel a challenge once again.  Moving along to the cartoon, Jeff brought us into a barbershop where the Beatle’s are getting a trim.  The answer came to mind immediately and I wrote out the letters just to check myself.  Sure enough it all matched up and another wonderful puzzle was complete.  I hope you had an easier time than I did and I’ll see you tomorrow.  😀

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday!  There’s no better way to start the day than by opening up a fresh newspaper to the Jumble and pouring a hot cup of coffee, so let’s get to work and see what Jeff and David have in store for us today.  CROON had me stumped right from the start but it was an easy solve after thinking about it for a moment.  The next three words all came into view immediately and without any hesitation whatsoever.  Arriving at the baseball themed cartoon, I was so excited to finish the puzzle for the surprise answer that I didn’t attempt a blind solve.  Writing out the clue letters (and having knowledge of baseball history) the answer came instantly after seeing COBB in the layout and the rest was history!  Jeff’s drawing of Pete Rose was spot on in likeness and he made the drawing historically accurate by also adding Leon Durham as the first baseman.  The cartoon is also timely since the Reds honored “Charlie Hustle” on Saturday with a statue outside of their ballpark.  Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂⚾️

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!  CONGA was the only word that had me baffled this morning.  I circled back to it after solving the other words and it came into view after staring at it for a few extra seconds.  With all of the clue words solved, I was at the cartoon in a flash.  Reading the dialogue and sentence, I wasn’t sure what the answer was going to be but it would most likely have something to do with CLOUDS since it was on the little girls pictures as well as on the television.  Sure enough it was in the clue letters and after crossing it out, the rest of the solution came instantly into view.  The letter layout was great with just the right amount of Jumble goodness to keep the answer well hidden.  Looking at the man’s newspaper, I thought Jeff was giving us a “Jumble within a Jumble”.  Upon enlarging the picture, there were no clue words to be had but the detail was exceptional and fun to look at.  I may be mistaken but it appears as though the Jumble cartoon in the paper was the exact same Jumble we were doing!  I’m sure there’s meaning to the 26 degrees on the television set, but I wasn’t able to figure it out.  If anyone has a guess, be sure to let us know in the comments section.  Have a wonderful Monday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀

Good Saturday morning everyone!  Today’s puzzle was a super simple solve more suitable for a Monday.  MACAW was the most difficult word for me to decipher today, but it only took an extra second or two before it came to me.  The cartoon answer was a piece of cake after writing out the clue letters and the letter layout kept the solution well hidden for being only 7-letters.  The cartoon was great as usual, but something struck me as “not looking right”.  The location of the spool of thread on the sewing machine is typically on the far right side of the machine and not directly above the needle.  Only a minor detail that didn’t make a bit of difference in the final solve.  Not much else to say about this one sew I’ll keep it short and sweet.  Enjoy your day and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🤗

Good morning and happy Friday everyone!  Even though the day has just started for me, my kid’s are looking forward to high noon when school is officially out for the summer.  Do you remember that magical day when you had to wake up early one last time knowing that an eternity of summer was before you?  Ditching the books for beaches and pencils for your PlayStation truly was an amazing feeling and I look forward to recreating all the excitement and wonder that is summer break for them to enjoy!

Excellent clue word choices this morning by Mr. Hoyt, with FIDDLE being the only anagram to give me pause.  For some reason I saw “FIELD” in the word and couldn’t get it out of my mind.  When I finally solved it, I shook my head and remembered that we’ve seen it numerous times in the past.  I hope I’ve finally committed it to memory so it can join my personal stumper list which includes RELIC, HAIRDO, CARGO and RODEO.

The cartoon drawn by artist Jeff Knurek transports us to an idyllic oceanfront scene where a happy couple have just departed a plane and are receiving their customary Lei greeting.  Looking at the layout for the final solution, I figured “OF THE” or “ON THE” would make the most sense so that’s where I started the solve.  Crossing OF THE out from my clue letters caused LEI and LAND to jump out at me for a quick finish.  Having already completed Saturday’s game, we’ll have to wait until Sunday or maybe next week for that stumper of a puzzle that we all know is just around the corner.  Enjoy your Friday and I’ll see you tomorrow!  🙂

We didn’t get that stumper of a puzzle that we we’ve been craving for some time now, but we did get some exciting and fresh clue words and an old favorite.  RODEO was back but has been used quite a few times in the past so it was a quick solve.  Perhaps CAGEY gave you a hint of trouble?  It sure is a unique word that isn’t used often so it was fun to decipher.  My only hiccup this morning was with DIVINE, but it came to me by simply staring at it for a few moments.  Moving along to the cartoon, we were transported to a delightful scene of of an early morning feeding in the chicken coop.  As the farmer tosses feed in the background, we see a perturbed rooster expressing his displeasure of not being king of the roost as the hens get first pickings.  I was able to blind solve the final solution by reading the dialogue but wrote out the letters just to make sure I was correct.  Sure enough everything fell neatly into place for a quick solve leaving me excited for a new game tomorrow.  The letter layout was fantastic and gave nothing away.  I hope you had fun with this one and I look forward to hearing you cluck about it in the comments section.  I’ll see you tomorrow!  🐔

Happy Wednesday morning, my friends!  The clue words were the only difficult part of the puzzle today with ADJOIN giving me the most pause.  We’ve seen GEYSER a few times before so it wasn’t as challenging as it once was.  

Moving on to the cartoon, we see a couple in a loving embrace with the woman’s hand gently touching the cheek of her significant other.  Another gentleman in the background adds urgency to the situation by exclaiming that they’re only moments away from departing the station.  The only good news for that couple is that by looking at the size of his bag on the ground, the trip will be a short one and they’ll be in each other’s arms again soon.  With only six letters, the answer was an immediate solve leaving us waiting for another chance at a difficult puzzle tomorrow.  Enjoy your Wednesday and SO LONG!!!

Good Tuesday morning everyone!  Excellent clue word choices this morning but none of them caused me any delay.  HAIRDO has stumped me a few times in the past but I think I have finally committed it to memory and it was no trouble at all.  Moving along to the cartoon, our old friend the Headless Horseman makes an appearance in his usual frightening fashion.  Reading the dialogue and sentence did not give me the answer so I wrote out my clue letters and began the solve.  HEAD was the first word to come to mind, so I crossed it out and was left with USEHDOT.  Picking up on the clue words of map and Hudson River in the dialogue, I figured a direction of travel would be part of the solve and SOUTH came quickly leaving -ED for the finish.  The letter layout was challenging but by keeping my head on straight, the solution was a no-brainer!

Although the Headless Horseman is a fictional character, Jeff was able to masterfully blend the solution into a real-life scenario.  Sleepy Hollow is an actual village in Mount Pleasant, NY and it’s located on the east bank of the Hudson River.  To get to the city by following the banks, it is approximately 30 miles south.  Doing some research on how long the trip might take on horseback, I found out that depending on the terrain and rest needed by the horse, the trip would take approximately 5 hours to complete!  Have a great Tuesday everyone and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow for more Jumble fun.  😀

Good Monday morning everyone and welcome back to another week of Jumble fun!  There are a few changes to this website that I’m excited to share with you and I hope you’ll find them positive and more user friendly.  I upgraded the site over the weekend so the first change is that there will be NO MORE ADS!  Some folks were complaining that there were ads, pop-ups and re-directs that were really distracting and difficult to navigate so those have all been eliminated.  Secondly, the format has been changed to a fresh new style that should be easier on the eyes and faster for you to maneuver through.  Besides a whole range of behind the scenes tools to make my job easier, the last change is that the web address has changed (the old address will work just fine so there’s no need to worry that you won’t be able to find us).  The new address is www.JumbleAnswer.com and it should be much easier to remember.  With all that said, there is a minor change that YOU have to do if you’d like to leave a comment.  Because this is technically a “new” website, you’ll have to fill in the three boxes in the comments section again with the first box being the name or handle that you use, the second is your email address, and the third is your website address (it’s ok to leave this one blank).  They should be labeled so you don’t have to remember all of this, however; some users have stated that this was not the case.  Let me know if you have any questions or problems and enjoy the update.  Here’s to many more years of Jumble Answers!

Today’s puzzle was a typical Monday piece of cake with all four words coming into view instantly.  Mr. Hoyt used some fresh new words but they weren’t enough to slow me down in the least.  GUAVA and GUITAR would be my picks for the most difficult words if I was forced to choose.  Moving on to the cartoon puzzle, I attempted a blind solve but with the answer being a riddle, I wasn’t able to figure out the 6-letter solution.  Writing out the clue letters, the answer came immediately and the unique anwser was a pleasant change of pace from the typical pun.  The cartoon was excellent and little Jake sure looked happy with his stump of a tail waving away!  Dogs aren’t allowed on our beaches two weeks before Memorial Day so I was curious to see what the rules were for Montrose Beach.  Surfing over to their website, the rules section clearly state that dogs are permitted and welcome in their “dog beach area”!  Such a great idea as my dogs miss the cool water in those “dog days of summer”.  Have a great day, and I hope you enjoy all of the changes to the site.  I’ll see you tomorrow!  😀👍🏻

Ah, Food! Who doesn’t LOAF Food? And so THYMEly…Mike and I were just talking food last night! As a dedicated Foodie, I’m EGGcited, from my head TOMATOES about this puzzle, so LETTUCE CELERYbrate, and dig right in! 

We’ve got some subLIME scrambles this morning; we’ve seen them in the PAST-Ah, with mayPEA a few new twists. I’d say Fathom and Asthma apPEAR to look the most appEELing. But, overall, easy, PEASy. ORANGEing our letters, was I the only one who saw Mouth, and figured, “Oh, the five letter word CANNOLI be Mouth”? HA…NACHO! I did FRY it, but staying with it would have KALEd me! It wasn’t MINT to be! ROLLing along, I concenTRAYted on the dialogue between the critic and the waiter. A-MAIZEing hints here, and then the question was even BUTTER. “Being behind”…summed it up. We’ve all BEAN there, BITEing off more then we can CHEW, and then telling ourselves, “WHEAT a minute, WHEAT a minute, I’m completely BOWLed over! I can’t KETCHUP! I DONUT what to do!” Not the best way to live OLIVES! We KNEAD to SLOE down, be more RAISINable, and ROMAINE in control of our THYME. We deserve the PEAS and quiet…

Eye CANDY today? No big DILL. The male diner looks like Tom Bosley. The female, should we even TACO ’bout it? (Let’s start calling her the B in P..blonde in purple)! Happy National Donald Duck Day!

I wanted to open up with a fowl/foul pun, you know set the pace for a few good one liners, but this isn’t a chicken, huh? I mean it’s with the squirrel…so I guess it’s a robin or a wren…🎶”WREN somebody loves you, it’s no good unless he loves you…”🎶…No, this is all for the birds! And what can I do with squirrel? NUTtin much! At least not here, on a family oriented blog! TBT, I’m no fan of either. Squirrels or birds. There is such an over population of both where I live, that you reach the point where you become SHELL shocked. (And to all the nature lovers out there, it’s just my opinion).

Let’s just get to the words: Maybe it’s me, but these words all seem so familiar. I feel like we’ve had them all recently. No reason to go out on a limb. (Hey, I’m trying)! I’m pretty sure that simply looking at the cartoon today gave everyone the solve in the blink of an eye. Quick and cute. We didn’t even need the hints…”Summarize”, “Nuts”, the empty shells. You had your Ls, your Ns, one and done. A few of us were worried that the hammer was coming down, (oh, that was yesterday)!, that today’s puzzle might be a killer. Well, NUT so! Easy, breezy, thank you for the gift! The eye candy? Nothing (really, how many times can I say NUT) really jumps out at me. There’s the man walking a dog, and some background bushes. We got Pecans, Cashews, Almonds. But aren’t those peanut shells on the ground?… What the SHELL? So, that’s all I got, folks. Let’s face it, you need the material to make that pair of PUNts…and today, it’s coming up short!

Good Thursday morning everyone!  The weekend is right around the corner and it’s shaping up to be sunny and warm — finally!  DAWNED was the only clue word that I had a difficult time with even though we’ve seen it numerous times in the past.  I’m not sure how you feel about past tense words being used as clues in the puzzle but I’m not a fan of them.  Moving along to the cartoon, I was able to solve it without writing it down for the second day in a row which is an unusual feat for me.  The cartoon was excellent and you could definitely feel the tension between both of the characters.  Jeff did a super job with their body language as both characters had their fingers pointed at each other as well as their mouths open wide — it made me a bit uncomfortable just looking at it!  The letter layout was weak in my opinion as AND was spelled out for us in order leaving just the other two words to be solved.  It’s easy to criticize the work of others so rather than end my post with a negative observation, I figured I’d offer a constructive solution.  I would have moved DAWNED to the number three slot and used the first D in the word as a clue letter.  David is a master at his craft so I’m sure he had a very good reason for leaving it the way he did.  Enjoy your day and I look forward to seeing you right back here tomorrow!  😀
