🧠 FINAL SOLVE
The final answer was an 11-letter anagram that solved into a “4 + 7” layout. The quotes signaled wordplay, which is exactly what I expected for our final puzzle of the work week. There won’t be any yapping going on about this one, though. With the dogs barking back and forth, “RUFF” instantly came to mind, and with one look at the letter layout, I was pretty sure “RUFF – HOUSING” would be the answer. With only a slight pause on the first clue word, all the letters fell into place instantly to make this one a done deal. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our biggest nudges were the dogs front and center in a barking match, giving us “RUFF”, along with the torn-up room and all the commotion pointing us to ROUGHHOUSING, with “RUFF” being used for the wordplay solution.
