⛺ CAMP NOPE

Today’s cartoon takes us to a backyard where one half of a couple is dreaming about a weekend in the great outdoors, while the other is perfectly happy enjoying everything she needs right at home. As he enthusiastically suggests spending the weekend at a campsite, she makes it clear she’s much more comfortable in her happy place. With a lounge chair, a peaceful backyard retreat, and all the modern conveniences one could ask for, it’s easy to see why packing for the weekend won’t be happening anytime soon.

➤ CAMPING COMMANDER

The young man is gathering items for the camping trip he hopes to take. He’s wearing a short-sleeved shirt, shorts, and sandals while carrying a box with a picture of a tent on the front.

➤ TEAM STAYCATION

The woman is relaxing on a lounge chair with the backrest raised. She’s wearing a large wide-brimmed hat, glasses, and a two-piece bathing suit while holding a small handheld fan in her right hand and her cell phone in the other.

➤ BACKYARD BLISS

The scene takes place on a backyard patio beside an in-ground swimming pool. Part of the house is visible on the left, while a grassy yard and fence stretch across the background, creating the comfortable retreat she clearly prefers.

🧠 FINAL SOLVE

The final answer was a 10-letter anagram that solved into a single word with a “6-4” layout. Our second-to-last puzzle of the work week got pretty IN-TENTS near the end. With the answer being a single 10-letter word in quotes, I knew I’d have almost no chance of guessing it without solving the clue words first. DELETE took the longest, and once I realized E was not one of the starting letters, the scramble finally began to make sense. After all four clue words were in place, the visual clue of the man holding the TENT gave me the second half of the solution. From there, RESIST quickly revealed itself from the remaining letters to bring this one home. If today’s puzzle slowed you down, our biggest nudges were the woman being RESISTANT to the idea of camping, while the conversation centered around staying in a TENT, giving us the wordplay solution, “RESIST-TENT.”
