🪝HOOKED UP

Today’s cartoon drops us at the scene of a traffic mishap where help arrives sooner than expected. In the foreground, a surprised driver thanks the tow truck operator for his quick response, and he casually explains that he was just passing by when he saw it happen. Behind them, her car is strapped down on the truck bed, tow truck lights flashing, and ready for a ride to the repair shop. Between the perfect timing and a bit of good luck in such unfortunate circumstances, everything in this scene comes together with impressive efficiency.

➤ QUICK ON THE SCENE

The woman in the foreground has short, cropped hair and is wearing a short-sleeve shirt as she reacts to how fast everything unfolded.

➤ DRESSED FOR THE JOB

The tow truck operator is dressed for the job, wearing a snapback hat with a tow-bed logo on the front, work gloves, and a safety vest with an oval name tag reading TOM.

➤ READY TO ROLL

Behind them, the damaged vehicle is already strapped down on the truck bed after a rear-end collision, with the muffler hanging loose underneath and the license plate dangling by a single screw, spelling JUMBL.

🧠 FINAL SOLVE

The final solve was an anagram consisting of 13-letters that fell into a “9” + 4 layout. Before I even thought about touching the clue words, my first instinct was NO TIME FLAT. I’ve been calling these all week without breaking a sweat, so of course this had to be the one that finally slowed me down. Once the clue words were locked in, WRECKER jumped out pretty quickly, and from there it didn’t take long to get everything lined up for the finish. If this one gave you trouble, our nudges were the conversation about how fast he showed up and the giant wrecker sitting in the background.
