CARTOON ANSWER:

REVOLUTIONARY
WELCOME BACK,
PUZZLE FANS!

TURNING THE TABLES

Today’s cartoon brings us into a study where Copernicus has just completed his hand-drawn model of the heavens, explaining his belief that the Sun, not the Earth, sits at the center. His colleague listens with concern, reminding him that ideas like this do not align with the accepted understanding of the day. Even so, the objections wouldn’t hold him back, and his radical idea would go on to reshape our view of the universe in a way that was anything but ordinary.

➤ Bright Spots

Copernicus stands at a wooden drafting table with his model of the solar system laid out. The sun sits at the center of the drawing, with eight orbiting planets, and he’s pointing directly to the third one, which is slightly larger. His right hand holds a drawing compass, and behind him against the wall rests a telescope. Through the window we see the sun and a few clouds in the sky.

🔭 Final Solve

The final answer was an anagram consisting of thirteen letters that resolved into a single word. Nothing about it would make my head spin. The structure of the cartoon’s caption made the answer fall right into place for me. And if it didn’t roll off your tongue quite as quickly, Copernicus’s bold statement and his colleague’s concern should have tipped you off to just how cosmically shifting his theory was.
