His hair is priceless and you can practically hear the whistle when he talks. Turns out he lost his dentures and has no idea what he can eat, which sets up a punchline that was easy to swallow. Old age is not for sissies, but sometimes the right candy can help.

FINAL SOLVE
The layout was a 10-letter anagram that would split evenly into two words of 5 + 5. With the lost teeth in the cartoon, I bit right into that clue and started hunting for something soft or easy to chew. When “foods” wasn’t in the mix, I spotted “GUM,” which pulled “GUMMY” into view, and the leftover letters lined up cleanly to make “BEARS.” A perfect fit and a sweet payoff for a character who definitely needed something gentle on the gums.
