  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
🧮 FRIENDS, ROMANS, COUNTRYMEN…LEND ME YOUR TIERS 🧮

🎶 You can COUNT ON ME like one, two, three…I’ll be there…And I know when I need it, I can COUNT ON YOU like four, three, two and you’ll be there…🎶 “Count on Me” – Bruno Mars 2010 http://tinyurl.com/fczwb6j4

Ok…I’m definitely down for the COUNT this morning. That last big Christmas hurrah yesterday and last night was a lot to digest…literally and figuratively…and I’m BEAD…I mean beat…And on acCOUNT of that I’m feeling LESS than…and definitely not looking to ADD to my exhaustion and MULTIPLY my woe…So we’re gonna cut right to the BASE…Anyway, I bet TEN to ONE http://tinyurl.com/385dvsfb that you’ll all have no PROBLEM solving this ONE today…

Oh…real quick though…I have to mention that having an anagram word which is also the theme of our puzzle might just BEAD a first…I’m too tired to do any research, but I don’t think we’ve ever seen this beFOUR… Personally, I was definitely taken a little ABACKus…

So…Ancient Rome* . And we see an optimistic, CALCULATING ABACUS http://tinyurl.com/4kxjw4x9 salesman ROMAN around plying his wares…FIGUREing = COUNTING ON …he’d CAESAR opportunity to RUN his game past a Chariot RACER…hoping it’d be a RUNAWAY hit…= SUCCESS. And since he had been living on a sandal-string, http://tinyurl.com/yu3k9wrk with his days NUMBERed as far as rent being past due, and had borrowed a pretty large SUM of money to get started…of course he’d be COUNTING ON SUCCESShttp://tinyurl.com/43kx3ffz

Jeff’s Gems…The Roman Forum in the background, and the “Buy 1 Get 1” sign written in Roman Numerals are IDEal…But the PIZZA résistance is the little Abacus on the pedestal at right. If you look closely you can see the word “POCKET” written on the cornice. It’s a “Pocket Calculator”!…Brilliant!…You can always COUNT on Jeff to have you ROWring with laughter!

So…There you have it Folks…Done. Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…And this puzzle reminds me of the time my S O, who’s always SUBTRACTED like a moth to a flame with collectibles, wanted to invest what I considered to BEAD way too much money in an old Abacus…I told him it would just ADD to his collection of TOTALly unnecessary items…and to not make any snap DIVISIONS…Thank God he gave it a SECOND thought and rose to the EQUATION… 🧮 🙋🏻‍♀️

    * And after I finished this all, and sent it to publish, the Mesopotamian/Greek thing hit me…but at this point? Refer to my opening paragraph…🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. Very late night , but I had to post my jumble thought before I sleep ! The anagrams were very good to me ! I trouble with PUNDIT , but the rest were there ! The jumble with 17 letters made me a little worried , but with abacus and everything I saw the word COUNTING a and all the s ‘s and c’s made it a SUCCESS ! Great Sunday Funday !!! Angela , I liked your detail about Jeff’s drawing , very descriptive ! Well have a good day !

  4. Well, the Jumble answer wasn’t a real common idiom (to me, at least), but I did see the COUNTING ON right away, for a semi-blind solve. LOL. Nothing more to do than unscramble the anagrams, which for the most part, didn’t solve so easily, though I did solve them all…and of course, that left the last word to finish up. Yes, Angela…so many little funnies in the cartoon and seeing ABACUS twice was out of the ordinary, for sure. Enjoy your Sunday Funday !! Terry

  5. An unusually easy Sunday Jumble. I usually have trouble with the extra Sunday anagrams land multi lettered cartoon puzzle but it was a clean sweep for me this morning. Chuck.

  6. For the charioteers of Rome
    The Circus their superdome
    They urged on their mount
    While starting to count
The number of laps to home!

The abacus would do just fine
It need only count up to nine
Tho’ the race was oft’ gory
    They dreamed of the glory
For the first to cross the line!

    • Thanks for posting the Kids Jumble as I enjoy the game.I actually looked for it earlier this morning.Chuck.

      • YVW, Professor, glad you enjoy it. Sorry for the delay…I’m just having trouble staying awake today…Snowy, rainy and cold…perfect weather for staying in bed…❄️💦🛌🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. ➕With the Hippodrome Greece’s venue,
And the Circus where Rome’s races flew…
    Both could surely make use,
    And then totals produce…
With this way to add numbers anew…➕

🧮 Using beads to keep track of the laps,
To ensure numbers did stay on track…
    The Abacus a boon,
No need for sun or moon…
    And avoidance of counting mishaps…🧮

🎲🎲 Here’s our Salesman looking for that edge,
So he peddles hoping he can hedge…
    His bets by appealing,
    To those who’re dealing…
With living up to racing’s pledge…🎲🎲

🤷🏻‍♂️ He’s offering “Buy one, get two”,
    Entrepreneurial mindset anew…
Will it prove to be sound,
    Get business off the ground…
As he’s hoping to see his way through? 🤷🏻‍♂️

🤞🏻 Here’s to hoping the Abacus proves,
It can keep pace with the horse’s hooves…
    And our Salesman makes good,
    On his loan…as he should…
Fingers crossed the Abaci’s approved! 🤞🏻

  8. Easy Sunday puzzle in spite of the length of the cartoon answer. Really clever details in the drawing. Jeff is amazing. Have a good Sunday all. Betty
